Filesonic No Longer Sharing Files

Unlike Megaupload, Filesonic has not been "Shut Down", but has voluntarily removed the ability to share files unless the uploaded files are of the owners who will still have access to them..

This is the splash I get when I attempt to download from Filesonic.

Quote:

All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.

If this file belongs to you, please login to download it directly from your file manager.
It may be another week or so until hosts feel comfortable with sharing files again, but this may also be the time when new hosts step up and take over...

Fileserve may be the same way. We will just have to sit back and wait and see what happens.

There is already a thread about this in Site Announcements with more info, please post your thoughts in there

Right now all it means is that they are not paying the Uploaders any more.

Easily solved.....Uploaders will find Hosts in other Countries. Its only the US Filehosts that have done this, so dont panic. The ones in other countries have now banned all US IP addies.

Such a shame, cos we all know that the US controls the world and owns the internet.....right? :uhh:

Such a freaking pain for me, my primeum membership with them still got 1 yr left. Lucky that I didnt buy lifetime. However, I gotta say Filesonic has the best speed for me before it went down. Hope it will take off the ban soon.

OK, so you recently just renewed or purchased a new account with one of the now defunct filehosts, SHlT! ... You just lost your money, right? Wrong!

You are entitled to claim your money back, as per paypal terms and conditions.

You purchased for example, a Filesonic 12 month account, with "X" capability. Soon as they change that "X" to a "Y" the product no longer becomes what you first purchased, leading to enough reason to open up a claim with PayPal and demand a refund.

When you open up a claim, the filehost have the chance to correct their problem, but as we all know they wont, they are left with little choice but to refund you your money, if they won't, PayPal will review the case, and if PayPal are going to be reviewing literally tens and thousands of disputes something tells me the odds are not stacked in the filehosts favor.

Try it, it costs you nothing, you loose nothing, and you could get your money back.

Same thing happened to me Grim. I did get it through paypal, so I reported to Paypal about Fileserve. All I can do now is wait & see.

I do believe that I`ll get my money back one way or another.
