Late Wednesday night Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account and attempted to quell speculation about a comment he made to Chief Justice John Roberts following his speech to the nation on Tuesday night.

Multiple outlets reported on the exchange which was picked up on a hot mic, where the president told the jurist Thank you again. Thank you again. Wont forget it, as he patted Roberts on the arm.

That has led to speculation that Trump was giving a late thanks to Roberts for penning the conservative-majority decision that granted Trump wide-ranging immunity for most all crimes past and future.

On Truth Social, the president said questions about the exchange are much ado about nothing and called journalists who noted it sleazebags.

A draft of a new executive that could be signed as early as Thursday aims to abolish the Department of Education, according to a report.

The Wall Street Journal, which reviewed the document, wrote Wednesday night Education Secretary Linda McMahon is instructed in the order to take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department based on the maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.

The experiment of controlling American education through Federal programs and dollars and the unaccountable bureaucrats those programs and dollars support has failed our children, our teachers, and our families, the document states.
