A man whose home was raided by drug police was shocked when he found Boris Johnson standing outside his bedroom door, who smiled and asked “how do you do?”.

The outgoing Prime Minister joined the nine Proactive Team officers from Lewisham Police Station on the dawn raid at an address in south London, targeting 'county line' drug dealers.

The PM’s appearance delighted resident Splinter Sales, who recorded the moment the pair met and shared it on social media. There is no suggestion any items in the shared property belonged to the hip hop rapper.

He told the Independent : “I was so shocked, I was drunk last night, I woke up to see Boris Johnson in my face. I thought I was dreaming.

“I had a good time at [Notting Hill] carnival and I never expected it, pow! I was just so confused.

“I don’t know what they were looking for but nothing happened to me.”

In the video shared to TikTok he is heard saying “Wagwan [what’s going on], Boris?”

The PM replied: “How are you doing.”

A police spokesman confirmed no arrests were made at the property and there was no suggestion any items in the shared property belonged to hip hop rapper Splinter.

A subsequent raid at an address nearby resulted in the seizure of Class A drugs and the arrest of a suspect who remains in police custody.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "As a result of further enquiries carried out after today’s dawn raid, a man in his 20s was arrested in York Hill, West Norwood, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

"A quantity of Class A Drugs and a suspected drug line phone were recovered. The man has been taken into custody at a south London police station where he remains."

The PM, due to step down next week, joined Acting Met Police Commissioner Sir Steve House on the bust carried out by the force's Specialist Command Unit at an address in West Norwood.

The high profile duo joined nine Proactive Team officers based at Lewisham Police Station to watch the intelligence-led targeted operation, aimed at combating drug-related violence in the area.

Detective Superintendent Victoria Sullivan, Met lead for South East based Proactive Teams, added: "Drug dealing inflicts untold harm on our communities.

“Disrupting the lines of supply is central to our work in tackling violence which is the Met’s top priority. There are strong links between the two.

"This is just one of many enforcement operations being carried out daily as part of our focus on targeting the line holders, while also helping to safeguard the vulnerable people they exploit.

“Our message to the drug dealers is clear – we are coming for you.”

Since 2019, working alongside other forces, the Met has arrested more than 2,000 drug line holders, closed down more than 800 lines, made over 1,000 arrests and secured around 3,500 charges for drugs, slavery and weapons offences.
