Bill Graham, who will become one of rock's most powerful entrepreneurs, produces his first rock concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. The show features the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and the Charlatans. (1965)

The Rolling Stones, Strangeloves and Fontella Bass appear on "Shindig!" (1965)

One the night of New York City's famous blackout, Bob Dylan, the Band's Robbie Robertson and Dylan friend Bob Neuwirth jam with Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones in his suite at the New York Hiton. (1965)

Deep Purple's "Machine Head" LP goes gold. (1972)

Singer Gram Parsons' manager Phil Kaufman was fined $300 for stealing Parsons' body from the Los Angeles International Airport. After he took the body, Kaufman had it cremated instead of taking it to the funeral. Kaufman claimed it was Parsons' wish to be cremated. (1973)

The Sex Pistols play their first show at St. Martin's School of Art in London. (1975)
