'Bloated' Putin May be Suffering from Steroid Treatment for Cancer, Spies Claim

Vladimir Putin may be suffering from cancer and the medical treatment he is receiving has altered the balance of his mind, according to theories being put forward by spies with sources close to the Kremlin

Daily Mirror 13 MAR 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin's “bloated” appearance could be the side effect of him taking steroids for treatment for cancer, spies have claimed.

Senior figures from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States believe there is a physiological explanation for his invasion of Ukraine, it is reported.

Citing sources close to the Kremlin, they are investigating reports that 69-year-old Putin’s “increasingly erratic behaviour” combined with a bloated appearance point to drug use.

They are advancing theories that he may be suffering from cancer and the medical treatment he is receiving has altered the balance of his mind.

Sources also cite the dictator’s decision to physically isolate himself from guests as the use of drugs is suppressing his immune system.

Emmanuel Macron was forced to sit at the other end of a 13ft table during a meeting with the Russian president.

And foreign minister Sergei Lavrov was also seated at the other end of a particularly long table.

A security source told the Mail on Sunday : “It is only human sources that can offer you the sort of rich picture that we have of Putin’s psyche.

“There has been an identifiable change in his decision-making over the past five years or so. Those around him see a marked change in the cogency and clarity of what he says and how he perceives the world around him.”

Putin fishes topless back in 2017

Putin has also previously been accused of taking steroids which make users more aggressive.

Former foreign secretary Lord David Owen said he suspects steroid use due to changes in the shape of Putin's face, which could be caused by muscle-boosting drugs.

Lord Owen told Times Radio: "Look at his face, see how that has changed - he now has an oval face.

"People who said, oh, it's plastic surgery or Botox, I don't believe that at all.

Emmanuel Macron was forced to sit at the other end of a 13ft table during a meeting with the Russian president

"He's on either anabolic steroids as a bodybuilder - and he's very proud of his muscles and strips to the waist and everything like that - or he's on corticosteroids.

"If you're on these drugs, this gives you this face.

"It reduces your immunity and makes you more vulnerable to Covid.

"This man has been in complete isolation, quite extraordinary, won't see anybody, stays miles away, tremendous pressures.

"Which indicates he's on a steroid and probably, maybe, a combination of both."

It has also been suggested Putin could have Parkinson's

"That certainly I’ve heard from several neurologists who say that loss of restrain, psychosis, are very common Parkinson’s symptoms."

He added: "And then there’s visual evidence he may be on steroids because of the way his appearance has changed.

"I think it's very worrying. Let's suppose that’s the case - we don’t know - someone in that position who seems so dominant, has his finger on the nuclear button, yes it’s very worrying."

Question Mark re: Unsteady & Distracted Putin Fuels Parkinsons' Rumours

Is Putin ILL? - 5 Signs Russian President is Sick - From Rage to Cancer Claims

As Vladimir Putin's unjust war appears to be waging on longer than he planned, questions have arisen over his health, both from a physical perspective and a mental capacity

Putin vows to rid Russia of 'scum and traitors'

BBC News 22 MAR 2022.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin's health has been under speculation over the past few years.

Now that he's invaded Ukraine in what has been widely criticised as an unjust war, the speculation continues to run rife.

Putin, 69, has been in the Kremlin since 2000 and public statements about his health are few and far between.

As the Ukraine war appears to be waging longer than Putin planned, more questions have arisen over his health, from a physical perspective to mental capacity.

Any statements from the Kremlin have dismissed all claims - but they've remained tight-lipped on Putin's health since the invasion began on February 24.

Here are some of the signs that explain why many suspect the former KGB agent is ill.

Is Vladimir Putin seriously ill?

Many have speculated that Putin could be taking steroids as part of a treatment to a conditionmage

'Steroids'

Recent photos of Putin have appeared to show him with a more bloated face, which some suggest mean he might be under a steroid treatment for a condition.

It has been speculated that steroids could be part of a treatment for potential back issues.

The side effects of steroids include mood swings and behavioural changes.

A high dose of steroids can even cause confusion or changes in thinking, according to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity says: "This can include having strange or frightening thoughts."

Fiona Hill, the British former senior White House expert on Russia, told Politico : "Putin’s not looking so great, he’s been rather puffy-faced.

Some highlighted that Putin could be in ill health because he reportedly limped off stage at the rally in Moscow

"We know that he has complained about having back issues.

"Even if it’s not something worse than that, it could be that he’s taking high doses of steroids, or there may be something else.

"There seems to be an urgency for this that may be also driven by personal factors."

She added: "He may have a sense that time is marching on - it’s 22 years (in power), after all, and the likelihood after that kind of time of a Russian leader leaving voluntarily or through elections is pretty slim.

"Most leaders leave either like Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko thought that he might leave, as the result of massive protests, or they die in office."

If those claims are true, former foreign secretary and medical doctor Lord Owen said taking steroids can make you more vulnerable to Covid.

Lord Owen told Times Radio: "Look at his face, see how that has changed - he now has an oval face.

"People who said, oh, it's plastic surgery or Botox, I don't believe that at all.

"He's on either anabolic steroids as a bodybuilder - and he's very proud of his muscles and strips to the waist and everything like that - or he's on corticosteroids.

"If you're on these drugs, this gives you this face. It reduces your immunity and makes you more vulnerable to Covid."

He added: "This man has been in complete isolation, quite extraordinary, won't see anybody, stays miles away, tremendous pressures.

"Which indicates he's on a steroid and probably, maybe, a combination of both.

"And we ought to fess up to it, that carries with it, particularly anabolic steroids, bodybuilders, aggressiveness that comes through.

"I think his personality has changed, but don't believe he's mad.

"He's a very clever and able, and somebody who you don't want as an enemy, and he's ruthless."

Cancer Claims

Some have speculated that Putin could be suffering from cancer

Political scientist Valery Solovei has previously claimed Putin has cancer as well as symptoms of Parkinson's Disease.

He also claimed Putin underwent emergency surgery in February 2020.

In 2020, Prof Solovei said of Putin's twin health traumas: “One is of psycho-neurological nature, the other is a cancer problem.

“If anyone is interested in the exact diagnosis, I'm not a doctor, and I have no ethical right to reveal these problems.

”The second diagnosis is a lot, lot more dangerous than the first named diagnosis as Parkinson’s does not threaten physical state, but just limits public appearances.

“But there is a fatal diagnosis.

“Based on this information people will be able to make a conclusion about his life horizon, which wouldn’t even require specialist medical education.”

Parkinson's Speculation

Last week, Putin held a pro-war rally in Moscow where many speculated he limped off stage.

Footage of his limp added to growing speculation the leader may be suffering from Parkinson’s disease, which could be influencing his behaviour.

And Prof Solovei isn't the only one to speculate that Putin may have Parkinson's.

Sir Richard Dearlove, an ex-MI6 boss, has recently told GB news there is often a link between the disease and a “loss of restraint”.

The Kremlin hasn't commented on Putin's health since the invasion began

Vladimir Putin Constantly Accompanied by Cancer Doctor in Sign of Health Problems

Yevgeny Selivanov, from Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital, who is an expert in 'thyroid cancer in senile patients', has flown to visit Vladimir Putin 35 times

Daily Mirror 1APR 2022

Putin health bombshell: Russian 'constantly followed by thyroid cancer doctor' -

VLADIMIR PUTIN is "constantly" accompanied by a thyroid cancer specialist as well as other medical professionals, new reports claim.

Doctor Surgeon Yevgeny Selivanov, who works for Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital, has reportedly flown to the Russian president as many as 35 times in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, which is reportedly his favourite place of residence.

Yevgeny Selivanov, of Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital, has flown to the Russian president at least 35 times...

“Whether the president was then undergoing some kind of medical manipulation is unknown, but after that he began to communicate with people at a very great distance - sitting on opposite sides of huge tables.

“In other words, if before Putin moved away from people in a figurative sense of the word, now he began to do it in the most direct way.”

During 2012 and 2021 Putin disappeared from public view five times when he suddenly cancelled planned trips and meetings.

Symptoms of thyroid cancer include the appearance of a thick nodule in the thyroid area; hoarseness of voice; difficulty swallowing; pain in the neck and throat; enlarged lymph nodes in the neck; a dry cough, scratchy or scratchy feeling in the throat or behind the sternum.

There have been previous claims that Putin had suffered from cancer, which were denied by the Kremlin.

Unsteady and Distracted Putin Fuels Parkinsons' Rumours as He Fidgets at Easter Event

Experts have raised fresh concerns over the health of Russian President Vladimir Putin, 69, who has been accused of falling ill with Parkinson's and cancer amid several ongoing theories about the state of his health

Daily Mirror 25 APR 2022

Vladimir Putin has fuelled more speculation he's battling Parkinson's or another serious illness after he appeared "unsteady and distracted" at Easter service.

The Russian President has faced concerns about his physical and mental health since launching his invasion of Ukraine in February.

Experts have suggested a number of theories ranging from cancer and Parkinson's to steroid-use and psychosis or a personality disorder.

Now footage of Putin, 69, looking shaky and anxious at Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral has further stoked the rumours.

During the brief footage of the service, Putin was seen chewing his lips and fidgeting as he spoke only once in chorus with the congregation saying "truly he is risen".

Russian President Vladimir Putin (L) and Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin (R) attend the Orthodox Easter mass

The concerning clip comes just days after he was seen "barely able to hold himself upright" as he gave orders to defence chief Sergei Shoigu on the siege of Mariupol.

Former Tory MP Louise Mensch has previously reported on Putin's potential health problems.

She wrote: "Putin has Parkinson’s disease and here you can see him gripping the table so that his shaking hand is not visible but he cannot stop his foot from tapping."

In November 2020, political analyst Valery Solovei sparked theories that Putin could have cancer or Parkinson's after claiming that Putin also needed to have emergency surgery.

He said at the time of Putin's health issues: “One is of psycho-neurological nature, the other is a cancer problem.

“If anyone is interested in the exact diagnosis, I'm not a doctor, and I have no ethical right to reveal these problems.

However the Russian aggressor did appear less bloated than in recent weeks

"The second diagnosis is a lot, lot more dangerous than the first-named diagnosis as Parkinson’s does not threaten physical state, but just limits public appearances.

“But there is a fatal diagnosis.

“Based on this information people will be able to make a conclusion about his life horizon, which wouldn’t even require specialist medical education.”

More recently Professor Erik Bucy, from Texas Tech University, told the Sun Online : "It’s an astonishingly weakened Putin compared to the man we observed even a few years ago.

The tell-tale tremors and shaky behaviour has fuelled Parkinson's rumours

Vladimir Putin Set to Vanish For Cancer Surgery Mystery Russian Telegram Account Says

Vladimir Putin has secretly nominated Nikolai Patrushev, a former KGB counterintelligence officer who once headed the FSB, to take “control” of Russia while he is incapacitated.

Daily Mirror 1 MAY 2022

Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council with Vladimir Putin

Vladimir Putin may soon vanish for a period as he is due to undergo surgery linked to cancer, according to a new claim.

He has allegedly secretly nominated his hardline security council security secretary Nikolai Patrushev - a former KGB counterintelligence officer - to take “control” of Russia while he is incapacitated.

Shadowy Patrushev, 70, is seen as a key architect of the Ukrainian war strategy and the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv was awash with neo-Nazis.

The extraordinary unconfirmed claims come from General SVR Telegram channel, which first raised issues of Putin’s health - including abdominal cancer and Parkinson’s - some 18 months ago.

They come amid speculation that Putin will announce all-out war in Ukraine, and order mass mobilisation of military-age men. Such a move would be seen as high-risk since many may refuse to fight.

It is suggested Putin, 69, has already delayed surgery, which is now unlikely to take place before he presides over the grandiose Red Square 9 May Victory Day commemoration of the defeat of Hitler.

The surgery had been scheduled for the second half of April but was delayed, it was claimed.

"Putin was recommended to undergo surgery, the date of which is being discussed and agreed,” said a report from the outlet which claims to be privy to insider Kremlin information.

“There seems to be no particular urgency, but it cannot be delayed either.”

It went on: “The Russian President Vladimir Putin has oncology, and the latest problems identified during [his latest] examination are associated with this disease.”

He also suffers from “Parkinson's disease and schizoaffective disorder”.

The latter is defined as “a mental health disorder that is marked by a combination of schizophrenia symptoms, such as hallucinations or delusions, and mood disorder symptoms, such as depression or mania”.

The Kremlin has always strongly denied Putin has medical problems and portrays him in robust health, even during several mysterious absences in recent years.

Professor Valery Solovoy was a professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relations

But Sir Richard Dearlove, an ex-MI6 boss recently told GB News there is often a link between the disease and a “loss of restraint”.

Sir Dearlove, who headed up the secret service from 1999 until 2004, said: "Maybe Putin’s behaviour - maybe his rationality - is prejudiced or compromised by illness.

"The best explanation, that we don’t know whether it’s correct or not, is that he may have Parkinson’s.

"That certainly I’ve heard from several neurologists who say that loss of restraint, psychosis, are very common Parkinson’s symptoms."

Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council

In a video detailing the General SVR claims, the outlet’s source - supposedly an anonymous former high-ranking Kremlin military figure - said: “Putin has discussed that he will be undergoing medical procedures.

“Doctors insist that he needs an operation, but the date has not yet been determined.

“He will have surgery and while he is incapacitated.”

The unconfirmed source went on: “I don't know for exactly how long he will be incapacitated after the surgery…

“I think it'll be for a short time.”

Question Mark re: Cancer-Stricken Putin Retches & Splutters Through Meeting

Vladimir Putin Expert Reveals What Would Happen in Russia if Tyrant Suddenly Died

It is unlikely Vladimir Putin will step down as he's cemented his role until at last 2036 - it follows speculation the Kremlin boss is in ill health

Daily Mirror 8 MAY 2022

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin (left) would automatically assume power if Putin were to suddenly die

Rumours about Vladimir Putin' s health have spiralled in previous weeks following recent outings and reports that he will be undergoing cancer treatment.

Putin, 69, has been in power for two decades and last year signed a law enabling him to run for another two six-year terms in 2024 and 2030.

The Kremlin boss has altered the laws of the country so he could be in power until at least 2036 and it is thought to be unlikely he will step down.

His leadership of the country has seen crackdowns on opposition leaders, the free press and attempts to reassert the Soviet sphere of influence.

Dr Sarah Whitmore, an expert in Russian domestic politics at Oxford Brookes University, told The Mirror what would happen if Putin were to suddenly die in office.

Initially Mikhail Mishustin, the Prime Minister, would automatically assume power.

However, an election needs to be organised within three months to install a successor.

Who that would be isn't clear as Putin hasn't publicly named a successor, but it would be someone that would continue to pursue the regime's survival.

One potential name that has been speculated is Putin's loyal defence minister Sergei Shoigu. He has been a high profile figure in recent years, especially since the invasion of Ukraine.

Dr Whitmore said: "If Putin were to suddenly die from an illness then people would have to be told and there has to be a sort of succession organised.

"According to the constitution, the Prime Minister takes over and then an election needs to be organised within three months.

Konstantine Chernenko, centre, also suffered serious health issues while in power in the 1980s

"It is very likely the regime around Putin would choose a suitable trustworthy successor to suit their interests.

"Someone we know like Shoigu, he's been touted as a potential successor and seen as a popular and acceptable face.

"Or it could be someone we don't know like how Putin came in - he was a nobody at the time.

"Who may even be more hardline. Where there seem to be expressions of discontent, it has tended to be critical that Putin isn't going sufficiently hard in Ukraine and that he has been too gentle."

The Kremlin has not officially commented on any of the speculations - and it isn't likely that they will.

Former Soviet Union leader Leonid Brezhnev's health issues were kept from the public until he died

Dr Whitmore said: "I'm sort of sceptical that if he had serious health issues we would know about it.

"Even if he did that doesn't mean he can't function for years or seems to function for years.

"It is conceivable that even if he does have an illness he can still go on for a long time."

And this isn't the first time the regime has remained tight-lipped on a leader's health.

Former Soviet Union ruler Leonid Brezhnev suffered from a catalogue of illnesses during his rule, and it was largely hidden from the public.

Putin under intense pressure and could be running out of missiles, says UK army chief

It was speculated at the time he suffered from leukaemia and gout as well as memory loss and speaking problems.

Following a stroke in 1975, he struggled to maintain Soviet foreign policy and opinions were increasingly deferred to his inner circle.

He remained in power up until he died in 1982.

Konstantin Chernenko also ruled the Soviet Union from 1984 until he died in 1985.

Putin's inner circle will be likely to choose a successor who will maintain the strength of the regime

Cancer-Stricken Putin Retches & Splutters Through Meeting Amid Chemotherapy Rumours

18 May 2022 The Sun

VLADIMIR Putin has appeared to retch and splutter throughout his meeting as he met with a close ally and defence aide.

The Russian president's face appeared bloated as he gripped the table in front of him during talks with Sergey Chemezov, head of state-owned defence giant Rostec.

Putin, 69, sat opposite Chemezov, whom he has known since they were both in the KGB in the 1980s, staring ahead with dull eyes.

He seemed to retch several times and struggle to speak throughout the clip released by Russian state TV.

It is the latest appearance by Putin to spark speculation about his health since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Kremlin insiders have claimed that he may have cancer, which could explain his recent bloated appearance and erratic behaviour.

Update re: Putins' Health: Putin Needed Urgent Medical Care After Feeling Dizzy

Vladimir Putin Constantly Surrounded by Doctors as Illness Throws Kremlin Into Chaos

Former spy Christopher Steele, who ran the Russia desk at MI6 in London, says Russian President Vladimir Putin is seriously ill and is now in need of around-the-clock medical care

Daily Mirror 20 MAY 2022

There has been a string of health claims as ailing Vladimir Putin continues his war on Ukraine

Vladimir Putin 's declining health is bringing growing chaos to the Kremlin, a top former British spy believes.

Former government intelligence professional Christopher Steele says the ailing Russian leader is now constantly surrounded by doctors.

He believes the mysterious illness that has plagued the president, 69, has left Moscow reeling as they balance dealing with Putin's health and the war in Ukraine.

Mr Steele, who ran the Russia desk at MI6 in London between 2006 and 2009, told LBC that the "exact details" of his condition were still not known, even to his high-ranking colleagues.

But Putin is in need of around-the-clock medical care, he claimed.

"He's constantly accompanied around the place by a team of doctors," he told LBC's Eddie Mair earlier today.

"Meetings of the security council that are shown to supposedly last for a whole hour are actually broken up into several sections, he goes out and receives some kind of medical treatment between those sections.

"So, clearly, he is seriously ill - how terminal or incurable it is is not clear, we can't be entirely sure.

"But it's certainly having a very serious impact on the governance of Russia at the moment."

There has been a string of claims about the health of the Kremlin leader, with some reports suggesting he is suffering from cancer, undergoing chemotherapy and steroid treatment among other ailments.

Other reports suggest Putin is suffering from Parkinson's or early-stage dementia.

Christopher Steele is a former MI6 agent

Steele's comments come after Ukrainian Major General Kyrylo Budanov also said the Russian leader is seriously ill with cancer and that an operation to remove him is underway in Russia.

He added on LBC: "There's increasing disarray in the Kremlin and chaos in fact, that there's no clear political leadership coming from Putin who is increasingly ill, and that in the military's terms the structures of command and so on are not functioning as they should."

Mair then bluntly asks: "Do you think the wheels are coming off?"

The ex-spy then replied: "I do, yes."

He said on LBC that the Putin's illness has thrown the Kremlin into chaos

New Lines magazine obtained an audio recording of an oligarch close to the Kremlin who described the Russian warmonger as "very ill with blood cancer".

New Lines say a "top-secret memo" was sent out by the FSB, Russia’s domestic security agency, to all its regional directors instructing them not to trust rumours about the President's terminal condition.

Christo Grozev, the head of investigations at Bellingcat, said: "The directors were further instructed to dispel any rumours to this effect that may spread within the local FSB units.

"According to a source at one of the regional units who saw the memo, this unprecedented instruction had the opposite effect, with most FSB officers suddenly coming to believe that Putin indeed suffers from a serious medical condition."

Putins' Public Appearances Were Staged With Old Footage Used to Dupe The World

Canned footage, which had been recorded much earlier, was used in video appearances for several meetings, it was alleged as speculation grows about the Russian president's health

Daily Mirror 23 MAY 2022

Vladimir Putin's public appearances were allegedly “staged” last week

It is claimed that trusted aide Nikolai Patrushev is in charge at the Kremlin

Vladimir Putin 's public appearances were “staged” last week to mask an absence from duties - raising new speculation about his health - an opposition source has claimed.

Canned footage, which had been recorded much earlier, was used in video appearances for several meetings, it was alleged.

The mysterious General SVR Telegram channel claims aide Nikolai Patrushev - a former FSB chief - is now in virtual control of the Kremlin.

He receives top level briefings that would normally go direct to Putin, it is claimed.

The same outlet has previously asserted that Putin has been ordered by doctors to undergo surgery related to a cancer condition, and had predicted his temporary disappearance despite the war in Ukraine.

In its latest post, the channel - which claims insider Kremlin information - said key figures believe Putin to be terminally ill which has altered the dynamic in Russia.

His absence “since Tuesday” cannot be verified but the channel said his staff “show pre-recorded videos of his meetings”.

Face to face meetings with Rostech head Sergei Chemezovand Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev were said to have taken place on Wednesday and Thursday but these were said to have taken place earlier and been saved to give the impression Putin was active.

It was unclear if a virtual security council appearance by Putin on Friday was also seen as “staged”.

In this, Putin claimed the West was seeking to hack key Russian government websites.

The post did not make clear if his alleged absence was for surgery or another purpose.

Putin kept a low profile during the weekend when Russian forces increased their attacks on Ukraine.

Only Patrushev - secretary of the security council and a hardline pro-war Putin ally - is currently maintaining official communications with the president, said the channel.

There has been widespread speculation about Putin's health for months

“Let's see how long this lasts, but the situation is getting tense,” said General SVR.

“The fact is that the elites are not ready to perceive Patrushev as a person who guarantees the current status quo.

“Everyone is well aware that if Vladimir Putin retires suddenly or gradually, then the situation will change radically.”

Putin “is sick and has diseases that are incurable, such as oncology, which is at a stage that, today, cannot be cured, Parkinson's disease and a schizoaffective disorder.”

The Russian leader “is certainly receiving the most advanced, most innovative treatment, and he has the ability to prolong his life, there is no doubt about it”.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has prompted questions about the President

But it was unclear when his condition might deteriorate.

“There is a general feeling, including among the attending physicians, that all this will not last very long,” said the post.

“But, again, we have already said that many people think that now Putin will die and something will change radically.”

There are people in the government ready to “sabotage” attempts for a continuation of Putin’s repressive style of government after he is forced to leave.

Victory of Ukraine in the war would trigger this process.

“There are people [ in positions of power] who are ready to help big changes,” said the post.

This could include the release of “political prisoners” like Putin foes Alexei Navalny.

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny could be released from prison, it is claimed

“Everyone in the elite is well aware of what the death of the president will lead to.

“There will be a big redistribution, there are no guarantees for either the servicemen or any of the security forces. Simply not.”

The anti-Putin channel’s regular claims on his medical problems are supposedly based on “intelligence” from an exiled Kremlin lieutenant-general insider who is known by the alias Viktor Mikhailovich.

Recently it claimed Putin has undergone removal of fluid from the abdomen, which might indicate serious medical problems, but there was no official confirmation.

The channel is also linked to political analyst Professor Valery Solovey - who has claimed detailed knowledge of Putin’s supposed health problems.

Solovey - who boasts secret sources in the Kremlin - said in an interview with Zhivoi Gvozd youtube channel: “It is an undeniable fact that [Putin] has a whole bunch of quite serious diseases.”

US filmmaker who spent many hours with Putin making documentaries on him alleged Putin earlier had cancer which he had "licked", which, if true, the Kremlin has not admitted.

Putin - who will be 70 in October -recently failed to take part in an annual ice hockey match that is normally a regular fixture in his diary.

Last year he had said of playing ice hockey: “You extend your life, you make it of better quality and deeper meaning.”

The channel said: “The victory over the Putin regime will bring not only peace, but also the prosperity of Russia, therefore, paradoxically… victory of Ukraine will lead to the collapse of the Putin regime, and, accordingly, to the liberation of Russia [and] all citizens of the Russian Federation who …ready to live freely and develop without any restrictions from this criminal regime.”

In the online security council session, Putin was shown complaining that Russia was under attack from Western hackers.

“Since the special military operation in Donbas and Ukraine… Russia has essentially become the target of aggression, of an information war,” he said.

“The number of cyber-attacks, including complex attacks, has multiplied.

"Experts believe it would not be possible for lone hackers to achieve that.

"Hackers attack from different countries in a well-coordinated effort…conducted by state-run structures…

“We know that the armies of some countries officially include cyber-troops.

“Targeted attempts to disable online resources of critical information infrastructure in Russia have been detected.

Media outlets, financial institutions and widely used public websites and networks have been hit the hardest

“Official government websites have been subjected to serious attacks.

“Attempts to hack into corporate networks of major Russian companies are detected substantially more often.”
