From Paul To The Philipians And To Us All Today Php 4:4* Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Php 4:5* Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Php 4:6* Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Php 4:7* And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Php 4:8* Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Php 4:9* Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Php 4:10* But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Php 4:11* Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Php 4:12* I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Php 4:13* I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. |

Exercising Our Authority
Gary Wilkerson While on their way to pray one day, Peter and John came upon a lame man lying at the gate of the temple asking for alms. Upon hearing his request, Peter told the man to look at them. The lame man expected to receive something from them but instead he heard Peter say, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” (Acts 3:6, ESV). What an interesting phrase: “But what I do have.” Peter had inside of him the ability to proclaim, in the name of Jesus, “Rise up and walk!” Notice that Peter didn’t pray over the man before making this proclamation. Because he had the Holy Spirit within him, Peter knew what the Father was doing, so he could proclaim it a reality. In fact, he was so confident that he reached down, took the lame man by the right hand, and lifted him to his feet. Immediately strength entered the man’s feet and ankles and he began walking, leaping, and praising God. There is a time to pray, “If it is Your will,” even when it comes to healing. There may be times when you are not convinced that the Lord is going to heal someone, but if you receive that sense of confidence in your spirit, don’t hold back! Begin to pray over people with faith, “You are healed in the name of Jesus!” Extend this prayer to other situations: “Your marriage is coming together in the name of Jesus!” “You are set free in the name of Jesus!” “My son/daughter is returning home in the name of Jesus!” There is power in the name of Jesus! We need to exercise our authority to proclaim the Word of the Lord over people and circumstances because Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18). |

A Song of Victory
David Wilkerson We have a tender, loving Father who is touched by the feelings of our infirmities. Even Jesus wept in His trying hour. He knows our pain firsthand and He has sent His Holy Spirit to comfort us and speak hope and peace to our souls. Interestingly, the world observes us as we face challenges, and expects us to sing a song in the midst of our hardest times. We see an example of this in the Word. “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it. For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, and those who plundered us requested mirth, saying, ‘Sing us one of the songs of Zion!’” (Psalm 137:1-4). This psalm describes Israel’s captivity by the Babylonians, when God’s people had lost everything, including their homeland. Still, their captors wanted to hear the songs of victory that the Israelites were famous for. “Sing to us! We have heard about the great victory songs you offer to God so play them for us!” I don’t believe this demand was made in mockery alone; the Babylonians sincerely longed to hear a testimony. Their own religion had left them empty, dry and hopeless. Likewise, today the world demands a song of victory from God’s people. What they really want to know is, “How are you going to react in this present crisis? We’ve heard that you think your God is faithful and powerful. So do you trust Him in times like these? Were your songs of deliverance in good times like a child’s fantasy? Or does your faith really hold up when hard times come?” Our society is desperate to find hope and peace in these troubled days. They long to know the truth of Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” And they will look to God’s children for a testimony. |

Put On the New Self Col 3:1 You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God. Col 3:2 Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth. Col 3:3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Col 3:4 Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory! Col 3:5 You must put to death, then, the earthly desires at work in you, such as sexual immorality, indecency, lust, evil passions, and greed (for greed is a form of idolatry). Col 3:6 Because of such things God's anger will come upon those who do not obey him. Col 3:7 At one time you yourselves used to live according to such desires, when your life was dominated by them. Col 3:8 But now you must get rid of all these things: anger, passion, and hateful feelings. No insults or obscene talk must ever come from your lips. Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, for you have put off the old self with its habits Col 3:10 and have put on the new self. This is the new being which God, its Creator, is constantly renewing in his own image, in order to bring you to a full knowledge of himself. Col 3:11 As a result, there is no longer any distinction between Gentiles and Jews, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarians, savages, slaves, and free, but Christ is all, Christ is in all. Col 3:12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Col 3:13 Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. Col 3:14 And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. Col 3:15 The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful. Col 3:16 Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct one another with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts. Col 3:17 Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father. |

re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
God Will Never Leave Us
David Wilkerson “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). Believers in war-torn Iraq share, “Hard times are not coming — for us, hard times have been here for years.” They have known hardships for generations and they have learned to cling to faith. Because they have put on the whole armor of God, they are equipped to withstand evil and preach the gospel to those around them. I truly believe the majority of godly people in the world today are under attack from hell, enduring devilish, seemingly hopeless situations. What about you? If you are not presently facing a test of faith, I urge you to be very thankful. But remain humble and be careful that you don’t boast of your own strength or faith. Satan waits until the tested one is weary, drained of all strength and endurance. He waits until all prayers seem to go unanswered, until everything seems hopeless and we come to our wits’ end. It happened to Peter when he watched his Master being humiliated before the Sanhedrin (see Matthew 26:57-58). And it happened to Job when he was forced to ponder the loss of everything dear to him. Questions begin to rise: “God, where are You? Why are my prayers not being answered?” Be careful, for right at that point Satan will implant his awful lie: “God has forsaken you. He does not hear you.” Yet, God has not forsaken you — and He never will. He has instructed us to be prepared by putting on the whole armor of God and then He assures us that He will never leave us. “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Right now He is telling you, “I will never leave you.” |

Confidence in Jesus
David Wilkerson The enemy comes roaring like a flood against saints who have no part in darkness. Satan can make it seem as if everything in their lives is coming apart: their prayers seem hindered, heaven seems as brass, and they suffer afflictions on all sides. At such times their heart might whisper condemnation: “You lack faith. If you only believed more righteously — if you were closer to Jesus, if your thoughts weren’t so evil — none of this would be happening to you. You would be on top, like those you see around you. You would enjoy abundance and hear clearly from God.” Not so! Those referred to in Hebrews 10 who were under attack had a genuine faith that made them “draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith” (Hebrews 10:22). Indeed, they are addressed in this epistle as “holy brethren” in Hebrews 3:1. The writer knows there is a war for their hearts in the midst of great affliction. Simply put, Satan’s main objective is to douse a believer’s light, to dim it or shut it off completely. Show me a Christian who suddenly comes out of spiritual darkness, bursting into the light of Christ and His holiness and purity, and I’ll show you one who is in for the fight of his life. Does this describe you? Are you enduring a great fight right now? Beloved, it is most likely not because of doubt or sin, but because of the light you have embraced. Light produces confidence in Jesus, and the more light you receive, the greater your trust in Him. It is your confidence in Christ that Satan is determined to shipwreck. He has aimed the powers of hell at you to drag you down in fear and unbelief. But even now God is taking a great interest in every matter touching your life: job, family, children, relationships, health. It is truly His concern; you matter greatly to Him. |

Paul writes:
http://dsyconline.com/images/icons/icon1.gif 1 Thessalonians 4:1-18 A Life Pleasing to God 1Th 4:1* Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 1Th 4:2* For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 1Th 4:3* For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 1Th 4:4* That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 1Th 4:5* Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 1Th 4:6* That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 1Th 4:7* For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1Th 4:8* He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. 1Th 4:9* But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 1Th 4:10* And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; 1Th 4:11* And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 1Th 4:12* That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. The Coming of the Lord 1Th 4:13* But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14* For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15* For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16* For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17* Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18* Wherefore comfort one another with these words. |

The Man of Lawlessness 2Th 2:1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to be with him: I beg you, my friends, 2Th 2:2 not to be so easily confused in your thinking or upset by the claim that the Day of the Lord has come. Perhaps it is thought that we said this while prophesying or preaching, or that we wrote it in a letter. 2Th 2:3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way. For the Day will not come until the final Rebellion takes place and the Wicked One appears, who is destined to hell. (This being the anti-christ) 2Th 2:4 He will oppose every so-called god or object of worship and will put himself above them all. He will even go in and sit down in God's Temple and claim to be God. 2Th 2:5 Don't you remember? I told you all this while I was with you. 2Th 2:6 Yet there is something that keeps this from happening now, and you know what it is. At the proper time, then, the Wicked One will appear. 2Th 2:7 The Mysterious Wickedness is already at work, but what is going to happen will not happen until the one who holds it back is taken out of the way. (The Bride of Christ, the Church) 2Th 2:8 Then the Wicked One will be revealed, but when the Lord Jesus comes, he will kill him with the breath from his mouth and destroy him with his dazzling presence. (This at the end of the 7 year Tribulation.) 2Th 2:9 The Wicked One will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false miracles and wonders, 2Th 2:10 and use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. 2Th 2:11 And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false. 2Th 2:12 The result is that all who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in sin, will be condemned. God's signs our in the heavens and here on earth. Time is extremely short. Give your lives to Christ and trust in him always. Repent, believe and receive your salvation today. |
re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
The Source of All We Need
David Wilkerson Few Christians doubt that Jesus is their source but they don’t always have confidence and assurance he’ll give them what they need. Here are a few wonderful reminders of the Lord’s concern for you. He knows all about your personal needs. “For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask him” (Matthew 6:8). “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). You are being promised, “In Christ are all the riches of glory. In Jesus God has given you everything you need for life and godliness.” God truly cares for you and he is touched by your need. “Casting all your care upon him, for he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). The Greek meaning here is, “You matter to him.” This may be difficult to comprehend in the midst of your long affliction. But even now God is taking a great interest in every matter touching your life: your job, family, children, relationships, health. “Do not cast not away your confidence, which has great reward” (Hebrews 10:35). God says, “Hold on to your confidence, because I am a rewarder.” Simply put: “It pays to hold on.” “But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Do you truly want to bring Christ pleasure? Then give him your total confidence. Hold on and don’t waver. And remember his promise to you: “The just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul shall has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10:38–39). |
re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
False Teachers and True Contentment 1Ti 6:3 Whoever teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching of our religion 1Ti 6:4 is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has an unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words, and this brings on jealousy, disputes, insults, evil suspicions, 1Ti 6:5 and constant arguments from people whose minds do not function and who no longer have the truth. They think that religion is a way to become rich. 1Ti 6:6 Well, religion does make us very rich, if we are satisfied with what we have. 1Ti 6:7 What did we bring into the world? Nothing! What can we take out of the world? Nothing! 1Ti 6:8 So then, if we have food and clothes, that should be enough for us. 1Ti 6:9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and are caught in the trap of many foolish and harmful desires, which pull them down to ruin and destruction. 1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Some have been so eager to have it that they have wandered away from the faith and have broken their hearts with many sorrows. Fight the Good Fight of Faith 1Ti 6:11 But you, man of God, avoid all these things. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 1Ti 6:12 Run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses. 1Ti 6:13 Before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who firmly professed his faith before Pontius Pilate, I command you 1Ti 6:14 to obey your orders and keep them faithfully until the Day when our Lord Jesus Christ will appear. 1Ti 6:15 His appearing will be brought about at the right time by God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. 1Ti 6:16 He alone is immortal; he lives in the light that no one can approach. No one has ever seen him; no one can ever see him. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen. |
re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
We See Jesus
David Wilkerson Paul wrote, “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). He lived in a time when factions in the church abounded on the left and right, and they fought bitterly. Paul responded to the conflict by saying, “I have nothing to do with this. I am here for one purpose: to live and preach Christ crucified and risen. As a servant of the Lord, I refuse to get entangled in such things.” Paul was then compelled to write to his young associate Timothy with the following warning: “The Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead” (1 Timothy 4:1-2, NLT). Paul’s warning here is clear: Men will appear preaching another gospel. Right now, a false Christ is being preached even in some evangelical churches. Theirs is a Christ who calls for no repentance. It is a Christ who embraces immorality and same-sex marriage. It is a Christ of acceptance of false religions, all supposedly in the name of tolerance and love. Today the church we see is often not as it should be. What is our response to this travesty? We see the real Jesus – the unchangeable Christ – standing victorious over it all! All other human-invented gospels will not offer one ounce of comfort in the hour of need. As Paul instructed, we can’t let these kinds of issues distract us. We are not to be “corrupted from the simplicity [devotion] that is in Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:3). All around us the world is breaking down, but we see Jesus! We must trust that he is standing with us in our pain, our suffering, our cries, all things. |

SITTING IN UNBELIEF
Carter Conlon I am convinced that God is initiating something truly significant in this hour; he has decreed a moment of mercy for America. No matter how set against Christ people’s hearts have been in the past, God is now presenting an open window. And so I do not want to spend all my prayer life crying out, “Please, Lord.” Instead, I want to pray, “Yes, Lord,” and find out what my part is. “Yes, Lord, what do you want me to do? Yes, Lord, what do you want me to say? Yes, Lord, where do you want me to go? When God chose Rebekah to become Isaac’s bride, she had to move from where she was and go to where God was calling her in order for his plan to be fulfilled (see Genesis 24:58). Similarly, God is speaking to people today, telling them to get up and out of certain things. So rather than constantly saying, “Please, Lord, give me the grace to get out of this relationship. Give me the grace to cease this practice,” it is time to start saying, “Yes, Lord, you have called me to something deeper. You have called me to be a person who can boast of you to the point where others cannot help but bow their heads and worship. So I am no longer going to say, ‘Please, Lord’ while merely sitting in unbelief. I am going to agree with you, get out of where I should not be, and go to where you are calling me!” Perhaps you already know what God is asking you to do. If he has spoken to your heart, begin with those things. If the Lord is asking you to forgive, then forgive. If he is asking you to speak truth, then do so. Until you obey what he has already told you to do, the other leadings of the Lord will remain hidden. |

A Lasting Righteousness
David Wilkerson Brokenness is to give up all hope of attaining heaven by any measure of personal goodness. It is to lay down all trust in our own efforts. It is turning wholly to the victory of the cross of Christ, believing he is the only way. Finally, it means trusting him to empower us through his Spirit to live up to his claim on our lives. We need brokenness and humility to keep walking in faith: “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18). “Thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones’” (Isaiah 57:15). No matter how I may feel, Christ is my righteousness. No matter how many doubts may arise, Christ is my righteousness. No matter how many accusations I hear from the devil during the day, I stand on this: God sees me as righteous in Christ! “On this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word” (Isaiah 66:2). Where is the Lamb of God now? He is in heaven, seated on his throne, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Prince of Peace. One day all the religions of the world will bend their knees before Jesus and confess he is the Lord. “Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that he was — he is — the everlasting Lamb of God” (see Philippians 2:10-11). Behold, the Lamb of God! Code:

The Purpose of the Holy Spirit
Nicky Cruz The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to empower God’s people to reach the lost and draw people to the cross of Jesus Christ. Just as he convicts us of our sins, he also moves in the hearts of unbelievers, bringing them face to face with their iniquities and failures, with the futility of their lives apart from God. When Jesus was preparing his disciples for his departure from Earth, he told them, “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning” (John 15:26-27). Jesus tells us that we know the truth of the gospel because God’s Spirit has revealed it to us through his words. The Holy Spirit has testified to God’s grace and goodness. Our confidence in our position in God’s kingdom comes not from our own hope and imagination, but from the Creator himself, from his gentle whisper in our soul. It’s how we know that God’s love is real and definitive and unwavering. Jesus went on to explain the Holy Spirit’s role like this: “When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me” (John 16:8-9). It isn’t our job to convict people of their sin. The Holy Spirit is already doing that. And we are not here to judge people for their sins. Our role is to simply be there for them, to tell them about Jesus, embrace them in their pain and suffering, and love them into God’s wonderful kingdom. Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save it (John 3:17). Shouldn’t we have the same attitude? Code:

re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
Power from on High
Gary Wilkerson There comes a time in every believer’s life when the Spirit must move in a way that’s external from us. We need him to do the work that’s needed — to speak, touch, deliver. That’s exactly what happened when the disciples couldn’t cast a demon out of a suffering person. Jesus told them, “This kind comes out only by prayer and fasting” (see Mark 9:29). In other words, it required utter dependence on God. We have to say, “I can’t do this in my own power. It requires God’s strength.” If your marriage is falling apart, it needs a living word from God that is clothed in power, not merely a theological word. Churches are a dime a dozen if they are not clothed in power. It doesn’t matter how many elders are called in to provide counsel. A clear decision can be made by one or two who are clothed with power. All of this calls for time on our knees, waiting and trusting God to supply the need in his almighty power. And he delights to meet us! Jesus told the disciples, “I am sending the promise of my Father upon you” (Luke 24:49). This promise comes not by anything we do, but by the grace of our loving Father. I tell you, when his power comes, there is nothing like it. We not only have a sense of the Spirit in us, but everyone in the vicinity does as well. A glorious presence descends, and everyone knows they are on holy ground. The disciples needed prayer and fasting just to cast out one demon. We need it to face an entire wicked culture. Change will come only through power that arrives from on high. That calls for a people who are not only filled with the Spirit, abide in the Spirit, and walk in the Spirit, but who wait faithfully on the Spirit to be clothed in power by him. |

Only Believe!
David Wilkerson I am amazed at our Lord’s loving response to grief. As I read the Bible, I see that nothing stirs the heart of God more than the soul that is overcome with grief. Grief is defined as “deep sorrow” or “sadness caused by extreme distress.” Isaiah tells us the Lord himself is acquainted with this most wrenching emotion: “He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3). We see a powerful example of God’s loving response to grief in Mark 5, where we read of Jesus’ encounter with Jairus, a synagogue ruler. As president of the synagogue in Capernaum, Jairus was part of a religious system that had rejected Jesus. We don’t know what Jairus personally thought about Christ, but we do know he had witnessed his healing power. It was most likely in Jairus’ synagogue that Christ healed a man’s withered hand. And Jairus was probably among the crowds when Jesus cast out evil spirits and heard them cry, “You are the Son of God” (Mark 3:11). We find that grief had come to the ruler’s house. His twelve-year-old daughter lay in bed, sick “at the point of death” (Mark 5:23). Grief alone had driven Jairus to Jesus. The fact is, we serve a Savior who responds lovingly to our every hurt, pain and grief. We all have done what Jairus did. In times past we have forgotten the Lord, neglected him, perhaps even rejected him. Yet the question our God is most concerned with is this: “Where are you with me right now? In your present grief, will you call on me?” Dear saint, Jesus is present with you in your battle. You can press in and touch him and experience the resurrecting, healing power of Christ, just as Jairus did. He is walking beside you through it all and he has a plan to bring you out of death and into life. Fear not — only believe! Code:

The Secret War
Carter Conlon The Bible clearly warns, “Today, if you can hear his voice, do not harden your heart as they did in the days of provocation” (see Hebrews 3:7-8). In other words, do not ask as Israel once did in her unbelief, “Can God furnish a table in this wilderness?” (see Psalm 78:19). Do not question the Lord’s integrity or his commitment to you, even though you find yourself constantly battling in your mind. God told you that he would raise you up to be a testimony. He told you that he has allowed certain things in your life but that all things work together for good because you love him and are called according to his purpose. And now the Lord is calling you to get up. He is calling you to lift your head and sing that song he has put within your heart. You are the Bride of Christ, and God stakes His reputation on keeping you and establishing a testimony of victory inside of you. Therefore, settle it in your heart today: “He is my glory and the lifter of my head. Even though I might be depressed when I go to bed at night, he is the One who will lift my head in the morning. He is the One who will give me strength to go through another day. If God has planted a dream in my heart, it will become a reality, for he has set before me an open door that no man can close. No matter how many voices rise up against what God has spoken to me, I will not harden my heart in unbelief!” So do not lose heart in the midst of the secret war you are fighting. Refuse to listen to the lies. Don’t give up! Rather, hear God’s voice calling you today. He will be faithful to supply all you need—strength to get through the day, courage to stand in the marketplace, faith to believe for all your needs. Code:

Faithfulness in the Storm
David Wilkerson (1931-2011) Some of you reading this message are in the storm of your life. Jesus' disciples endured pounding waves in a storm-tossed boat while their Master lay fast asleep. Finally, as the storm threatened to overwhelm the boat, they cried out to Jesus, accusing him of not caring about their fate. "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" (Mark 4:38). Jesus calmed the storm but was incredulous at his disciples' lack of faith. He asked, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" (4:40). Right now you may be facing a terrible storm in life: money problems, marriage problems, job troubles, enemies coming at you like pounding waves. A sea of trouble rages inside you, but the Lord seems to be sleeping through it all. Tell me, has your faith been sapped? Is it slowly ebbing away with each new disappointment? Perhaps you are crying out in your heart, "God, don't you care? Will you let me go down in this storm?" It is for just such a time that Jesus spoke these awesome words: "Shall God not avenge (protect) His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:7-8). Note Jesus' question here: Will he find faith in his people as they endure days of darkness and oppression? In recent years I have wondered whether Jesus would ask such a question today. For decades multitudes flocked to churches. But what Jesus is really asking is, "Will the faith of these hold out when the shaking storms come?" Our troubles can be heaped so high, and the shaking of nations can come so swiftly, that some will lose hope and give up. I ask you: Will Jesus find you faithful in your hour of storm? Code:

Stay in the Race!
David Wilkerson (1931-2011) Your ongoing trial may involve physical suffering, unemployment, children who rebel, faithless friends, mental distress, turmoil or pain. As you endure day after day, Satan will whisper to you as he did to Job: "The righteous don't suffer. If God heard you — if he saved you and his promises are true — you should have been rescued immediately. Where is your God? Is this what faith gets you?" Beloved, do not cast your faith aside! Satan is a liar. You are enduring hardship because God loves you, because he cares. Think about it: You asked the Lord to make you more like him. Only he knows what that will require. He knows your suffering, and he won't let you be destroyed by it. In fact, he knows just when to make a way of escape for you. He won't act until that appointed time, and "will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Be assured, God has everything under control. The pain, the lingering sickness, the prayers that seem to go unanswered — he knows all about them. And he knows why he hasn't lifted your trial before now. As happened with Paul, he is using the "thorn in your flesh” to work toward your blessing. Indeed, the very thing you want so much — the answer you believe is so necessary — might be something God knows is not best for you. If he ultimately says, "No," you know he is preserving your soul and answering you in a much better way. Through it all, the great cloud of witnesses urges you, "Continue fighting the battle with faith. Stay in the race!" Consider this powerful word from the author of Hebrews: "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry (Hebrews 10:35-37). |
re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
But I Kept the Faith
David Wilkerson (1931-2011) Paul kept his faith through good times and bad. In his final days Paul could boast, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Think about Paul's testimony at that point. He could say, "Satan sent messengers to fight me in Jerusalem, Damascus, Asia, Ephesus, Antioch, and Corinth. But I kept the faith. "He tried to sink me in the storm-tossed Mediterranean. Three times I was shipwrecked, bobbing in the deep, night and day. But I kept the faith. "Five times the Jews beat me with thirty-nine stripes. I have been cast into prison, three times beaten with rods, stoned and left for dead. But I kept the faith. "I've faced peril in the country and the city, in the wilderness and the sea. I've been robbed by my own countrymen. I've been placed in peril by false brethren. But I kept the faith. "I've been extremely weary at times, full of bodily pains, enduring sleepless nights. I've been hungry and thirsty, cold and naked, heavily laden with cares of all kinds. Yet I kept the faith. "I've been troubled, perplexed on every side, distressed and persecuted, but never cast down. I've never been shaken in my faith. Through it all, my trust in the Lord has never been destroyed" (see 2 Corinthians 11:23-28). Beloved don’t fall for the devil's lies when you are enduring trials, chastening or troubles. Do not allow a root of bitterness to enter your heart and begin nurturing anger toward God: "Why did the Lord allow this? I tried so hard to please him, trusting him so much. Why is he letting me down?" God has warned us about such times: "Don't let this happen. Instead, be diligent, be careful, holding onto your confidence. It has great recompense of reward." (Hebrews 10:35-36, my paraphrase) Rather remember that he says for us to "Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me" (Psalms 50:15). May you remain faithful to call on him in your trial. Cast your cares on him always! |

Ambassadors for Christ
Gary Wilkerson “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20). Becoming “an ambassador for Christ” is not something we are striving to attain. If you are a Christian, you are a missionary. This does not just mean being sent overseas or going on outreaches. This mission we are on consists of possessing a heart that loves Him in such a way that we want to see others come to know that love as well. Let me take a different slant on it and tell you it’s not just about being sent; it’s not just about reaching out to your neighbors. It’s about what type of missionary you are. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves” (Matthew 23:15). Jesus is saying here, “You go from one place to another trying to get one convert, one proselyte, and when you do get that one, they’re a worse person than you are.” Clearly that is not healthy evangelism! So the mission I’m talking to you about today is not just what we say or what charity we are involved in or where we go. Our focus must be on who we are. You are a missionary to your mom and dad. You are a missionary to your children. You are a missionary to your spouse. You are a missionary to your neighbor. The type of life that you live, the type of heart that you have, the type of gospel that you live out — whether it’s powerful, penetrating your own soul to change you to the degree that you are transformed — will be the very degree to which you can change and transform the world around you. Love to you all Code:

The Full Assurance of Faith Heb 10:19 We have, then, my friends, complete freedom to go into the Most Holy Place by means of the death of Jesus. Heb 10:20 He opened for us a new way, a living way, through the curtain---that is, through his own body. Heb 10:21 We have a great priest in charge of the house of God. Heb 10:22 So let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, with hearts that have been purified from a guilty conscience and with bodies washed with clean water. Heb 10:23 Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. Heb 10:24 Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Heb 10:25 Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer. Heb 10:26 For there is no longer any sacrifice that will take away sins if we purposely go on sinning after the truth has been made known to us. Heb 10:27 Instead, all that is left is to wait in fear for the coming Judgment and the fierce fire which will destroy those who oppose God! Heb 10:28 Anyone who disobeys the Law of Moses is put to death without any mercy when judged guilty from the evidence of two or more witnesses. Heb 10:29 What, then, of those who despise the Son of God? who treat as a cheap thing the blood of God's covenant which purified them from sin? who insult the Spirit of grace? Just think how much worse is the punishment they will deserve! Heb 10:30 For we know who said, "I will take revenge, I will repay"; and who also said, "The Lord will judge his people." Heb 10:31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Heb 10:32 Remember how it was with you in the past. In those days, after God's light had shone on you, you suffered many things, yet were not defeated by the struggle. Heb 10:33 You were at times publicly insulted and mistreated, and at other times you were ready to join those who were being treated in this way. Heb 10:34 You shared the sufferings of prisoners, and when all your belongings were seized, you endured your loss gladly, because you knew that you still possessed something much better, which would last forever. Heb 10:35 Do not lose your courage, then, because it brings with it a great reward. Heb 10:36 You need to be patient, in order to do the will of God and receive what he promises. Heb 10:37 For, as the scripture says, "Just a little while longer, and he who is coming will come; he will not delay. Heb 10:38 My righteous people, however, will believe and live; but if any of them turns back, I will not be pleased with them." Heb 10:39 We are not people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith and are saved. |
re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You
God's Way
David Wilkerson (1931-2011) Troubling circumstances and fiery conditions can bring on confusion. At such times, our impatience begins to reason: "God must not have meant what he said to me. Or maybe the problem is my inability to hear his voice. Perhaps I heard him wrong in the first place. All I know is that what he told me and what I see developing don't add up." When Saul moved ahead of God’s direction, he acted purely on logic and reason, not on trust. Listen to the string of excuses he gave the prophet Samuel for moving ahead of God's direction: "When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering" (1 Samuel 13:11-12). Saul took matters into his own hands, doing what he reasoned was his only option. And it ended in sorrow. This matter of waiting is so important that we find references to it throughout God's Word. Isaiah writes, "It will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation" (Isaiah 25:9). "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him” (Isaiah 64:4). Beloved, God's way is not the world's way. And the only way to gain godly experience is to wait patiently for him in faith. This sort of godly experience comes to those who are in communion with the Lord: "Knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4). How Can We Be Silent?
Nicky Cruz God saved me by appealing to my heart. As my faith and devotion to him grew, he began to impart knowledge and insight, an understanding of his ways, a desire to study and learn and grow even deeper in his wisdom. It’s a process of mentoring and maturing, one that will continue until the day I die, but it began with an appeal to my emotions, not my intellect. I grew up in a family that knew nothing about Jesus. My mother and father were children of the darkness, immersed in a lifestyle of the occult, blinded to the light of Jesus’ wonderful grace. I vividly remember my mother’s eyes. They were cold and dark and empty. Emotionless eyes. There was nothing there: no love, no feeling, no compassion . . . nothing but blackness. Looking into her face was like staring into the pit of hell. At times I felt as if Satan himself was staring back at me through the barren, vacant eyes of my mother. By the grace of God I was later able to lead my mother and father to the Lord. She became a powerful witness to God’s wonderful forgiveness, and for the first time I was able to look into her eyes and see the love and compassion that I had always longed for. The emptiness was gone, and in its place was pure beauty, a soul freed from hate and despair. She was a child of freedom. How can we ever again be silent when we’ve witnessed the miraculous transformation of a soul set free from Satan’s grip? Once we’ve seen what Jesus can do in and through a life devoted to his will, we become forever changed. We begin longing for all the wisdom and empowerment that the Holy Spirit offers. We can’t stop ourselves from pleading on behalf of the lost, yearning to reach them with God’s message. Code:
