Are there portals and other dimensions and could mirrors actually be portals that beings can enter and leave from?

Mirrors have fascinated people ever since early humans first caught a glimpse of their reflection in the water whilst taking a drink from a river.
Throughout history many cultures have their superstitions surrounding mirrors and one is that if a person died in a room that had a mirror in it, their spirit could become trapped in that mirror and if that mirror was moved to another location, their spirit would travel with the mirror.
