International Footballer's Career May Be Over Due to Injury
Tomas Rosicky Injury: Updates on Arsenal Midfielder's Thigh and Return
By AP 4 FEB 2016 Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky injured his thigh during Jan. 30's FA Cup clash against Burnley. As a result, the injury-plagued veteran reportedly faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines. Latest on Rosicky's Recovery Timeline Thursday, 4 Feb. "Rosicky, 35, was hoping to be back within six weeks...but the stunned midfielder has been told that the problem is a rupture meaning he will have to wait months," reported Charlie Wyett of the Sun. Wyett even claimed Rosicky "will not play for Arsenal again" because the Czech Republic international has entered the final months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium. Dream End Not to Be for Rosicky Rosicky had groin surgery in the summer and was hoping to help manager Arsene Wenger for the title run-in, but that fairytale appears to have been snatched away. The 35-year-old's contract is poised to expire this summer. James Olley of the London Evening Standard reported in November the playmaker would not be offered an extension, and this injury will undoubtedly shorten his chances even further. Wenger will look to the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and new signing Mohamed Elneny to play key roles in central midfield, with Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere also sidelined by injuries. When fit, Rosicky is a class act, admired by not only his own fans but those outside of north London. Arsenal supporters will hope they haven't seen the last of him just yet.
