By PA, 14 December 2014

Greg Chalmers won the Australian PGA Championship for the second time after holding firm in a gruelling play-off.

Chalmers, Adam Scott and Wade Ormsby all ended 72 holes tied on 11 under par, so headed off to play the 18th once more.
In the case of Chalmers and Scott - Ormsby dropped out after three - that turned into a seven-hole sudden-death shoot-out.

Scott looked the most likely over the extra holes, hitting more fairways, but 41-year-old Chalmers stuck with it and when Scott missed a four-footer for par, rolled in for the win.
It backs up his 2011 success in the tournament and brings him a fitting reward for the outstanding round of the tournament.
His name was not in consideration on Sunday morning when he started seven shots behind Scott, Ormsby and Scott Strange.

Put an eight-under-par 64, while Scott and Ormsby signed for 71 and Strange a 76, meant he earned the right to go to the play-off.
