WWE SummerSlam 2012 Results: Brock Lesnar and Biggest Winners from Epic PPV

Another SummerSlam has come and gone. Though the 2012 version wasn't the greatest iteration of the event we have seen, there was plenty of newsworthy material to come out of the show.
As with any pay-per-view, the follow-up can be just as important as what happened on the show. WWE will often do things that completely negate what happened. The best example in recent memory was bringing CM Punk back last year after he was gone for one week.
That angle didn't exist this year for WWE to ruin, but we still had plenty of big news to dissect from the second-biggest show of the year.
Here are the biggest winners to come out of Sunday night's SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar (def. Triple H via submission)

I bashed WWE for months after John Cena defeated Lesnar at Extreme Rules. It was the wrong decision at the wrong time, but it was not completely out of line for the way WWE tries to do business.
It is time to give credit where it is due, because I thought for sure Triple H would put himself in a position to win. Even though he tried to soak up the emotion after the match, Lesnar was put over in a big way.
Lesnar needed a dominating win, so credit WWE and Triple H for doing what was right for business. We shall see what WWE has in store for Lesnar on Raw, but for one night, everything was booked perfectly.
Sheamus (def. Alberto Del Rio via pinfall)

Sheamus' victory over Alberto Del Rio was one of those overwrought WWE finishes with so much garbage, that it takes away from everything that came before it.
The match itself was not a masterpiece, though it was pretty good. But the idea that Sheamus is becoming the new Triple H is all that we we're supposed to take away from this.
There is no one on SmackDown right now who can touch Sheamus' push—not even Randy Orton. I don't think he will hold the world title for years on end like Triple H used to, but he is going to be in the main event for a long time because of Triple H.
Chris Jericho (def. Dolph Ziggler via submission)

Looking back at the way this angle was set-up, it was clear the whole time that Jericho was going over. Ziggler had the upper hand every step of the way, which would have made Jericho look like a dork if he never got revenge.
I still have a hard time with Ziggler always losing, but the fact that we got a really strong match between two workers like Ziggler and Jericho to open the show was enough to offset the anger.
Jericho going over does open up a lot of possibilities for Raw on Monday night, especially since everyone knows he is not going to be around for at least a few months. He got his pay-per-view win before he goes, but now Ziggler can get his revenge by destroying Jericho.
