Jon Jones has taken the MMA world by storm and become the prototype for the future.
Everyone in MMA is trying to figure out a fighter to beat Jones and his amazing usage of athleticism, speed and creativity that devastates fighter inside the ring.
Here are ten possible fights that could give Jones a run for his money.
Light Heavyweight

Record- (30-3-1)
Gegard Mousasi is seen as another top young fighter in the MMA world. Mousasi has held titles in DREAM at middleweight and light heavyweight and has held the light heavyweight title in Strikeforce. Mousasi is a great all-around fighter and could pose problems for Jon Jones wherever the fight may go. 17 wins by knockout and 11 wins by submission should be scary for Jones.

Like it was said in the Brock Lesnar slide, Shane Carwin had almost beaten Lesnar in the first round but failed to finish him and got stuck in what could best be described as a mediocre arm triangle. If Carwin were to fight Jon Jone she would have to seriously improve his stamina that hampered him in his fight with Lesnar. If he can improve the stamina he could give Jones a fit. Still a slim possibility of victory, but hey, weirder things have happened.
Heavyweight

Junior dos Santos is a deadly striker and could beat Jones with his striking. Dos Santos has only one legitimate submission victory and his ground game could be his weakness against the ground expertise of Jones. Dos Santos would be heavily tested by Jones and his ability to make creative and wacky strikes. Would dos Santos beat Jones? It's possible, but Jones could grind out dos Santos for a unanimous decision victory.
Light Heavyweight

Phil Davis had his biggest win in his last fight against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Davis, like Jon Jones, has a great wrestling background. Also like Jones, Davis is seen as a top future prospect in the UFC. At age 26 he could very much so end up having a title fight against Jones and we would be able to see which fighter would lead the future of the UFC onwards. This could end up being a very difficult fight for Jones.

Brock Lesnar, like another fighter on this list and Jon Jones, rode a hype train at one point in his career. Lesnar was seen as dominant, a tough guy who wouldn't be beat, until Shane Carwin showed him how wrong everyone was and almost finished him in the first round. Then Cain Velasquez took the the reign and did the dirty work of de-throning Lesnar. Lesnar was a top wrestler in college and could negate Jones. His turtling up though could be the issue as Jones is getting better and better at striking everyday.

Either way, whether it be at heavyweight (Fedor Emelianenko's natural weight class) or at light heavyweight, Fedor would have trouble and would probably lose to Jon Jones. At light heavyweight though Fedor could be a little bit quicker which would help him significantly against the quickness of Jones. Fedor has been beaten by bigger guys though in his last two fights, and would probably go along the same lines again.
Middleweight/Light Heavyweight

Dan Henderson has been a top notch fighter throughout his career, but one thing stands out, when it comes to the big fights, he chokes. Up until his last fight where he won the Strikeforce light heavyweight crown, Henderson had lost his previous three title fights to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Anderson Silva and Jake Shields. Henderson could give a little bit of a fit for Jones and could slightly pull out the victory, but it's highly doubtful he would have his arm raised against a bigger Jones.

Some people are calling for this fight because of what Randy Couture is good at—developing a strategy and figuring out the weakness of his opponent. Couture is a great strategist and could figure out the Rubik's cube that is Jon Jones and pull out a victory. Couture has a great wrestling background and has the ability to negate Jones. Couture is a tough guy, but he may meet his match in Jones who possesses the creativity and power to beat the legendary Couture.
Middleweight/Light Heavyweight

By the time Anderson Silva retires he could be one of, if not the best, MMA fighter to ever step foot on the planet. Silva has been dubbed by MMA fans as "The Man Who Could Beat Jones". He's the man who could stop the hype train. Not so fast everyone. Jon Jones is a different breed of fighter and is able to attack Silva's weakness—wrestling. If Sonnen was able to control Silva for almost an entire fight before being caught, Jones would be able to do the same. It's difficult to say Jones would win though because Silva is the most accurate striker in the UFC and probably the most accurate in MMA.

Cain Velasquez could possibly be the most perfect fighter to face Jon Jones. Velasquez possesses great striking ability and has a great wrestling background to boot. Not to mention Velasquez and Jones went to the same junior college to begin their wrestling careers, just Velasquez went on to a Division I school while Jones went on to become an MMA fighter. Velasquez may not have the stamina to go a full fight with Jones though. Only three of Velasquez's fights have gone to the second round and beyond, and only one of those has gone the distance. Velasquez could most likely beat Jones at heavyweight, but hey we'll probably never know.
