Khabib Nurmagomedov's $2 mill Payout Withheld Pending Investigation
Nevada
UFC 229: Khabib Nurmagomedov Defeats Conor McGregor by Submission > Then Brawls in Crowd Khabib Nurmagomedov Beats Conor McGregor With Round Four Submission Win Before Fight Descends Into Chaos as Russian Jumps Into The Crowd to Fight American MMA Fighter Dillon Danis and McGregor is ATTACKED by Members of Khabib's Team
The Guardian/Daily Mail UK, 7 Oct 2018. Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov Conor McGregor Conor McGregor vowed to return as king of the octagon but this was a catastrophe for the Irishman rather than a coronation. The biggest fight in UFC history ended in absolutely astonishing circumstances as Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted the ‘Notorious’ before leaping over the cage, sparking a mass brawl. His target was McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis and security piled in just as one of Khabib’s entourage jumped into the cage to confront McGregor. Russian UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov beats Conor McGregor in the highly-anticipated Las Vegas lightweight showdown Irishman McGregor had no answer to Nurmagomedov's grappling approach as he continually took down round after round But the fight ended sourly as Khabib leaped from the octagon to fight in the crowd with McGregor's team-mate Dillon Danis The bad blood between the two fighters was obvious from the opening exchanges as Khabib landed a heavy right hand McGregor went into the contest full of confidence but came up against an opponent who was unbeaten from 26 bouts Victory means that the Dagastani fighter remains the undisputed lightweight champion of the world and he keeps his belts Hideous moment Conor McGregor is punched in the back of the head by member of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team who jumped into octagon to attack beaten Irishman
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s win over Conor McGregor in Las Vegas descended into utter chaos as a member of the Russian fighter's team jumped into the octagon and punched McGregor in the head. The fight was stopped as the Irishman tapped out from a chokehold submission but the contest swiftly exploded inside the T-Mobile arena as a victorious Khabib jumped out of the cage and into the crowd to attack McGregor's team-mate Dillon Danis. The unsavoury mass brawl left spectators in total shock before members of Khabib's team stormed the octagon to produce a hideous attack on a wounded McGregor. Conor McGregor was escorted away after a member of Khabib's team punched him in the head The Dagastani fighter produced a hideous post fight brawl after an impressive round four win Both fighters were escorted from the cage without a belt presentation or interviews before Khabib was eventually announced by Bruce Buffer as the victor. The undefeated Russian, now a staggering 27-0, dominated a sensational fight, showcasing his wrestling skills and even rocking the supposedly superior striker. There may not have been any fear but there was plenty of loathing in Las Vegas as a frenzied 18,000 fans inside T-Mobile Arena were transfixed by the climax to this ferocious rivalry. You sense this one is far from over. McGregor’s loyal army of fans, as ‘Notorious’ as the fighter they so fervently worship, made T-Mobile Arena feel more like Dublin’s Croke Park. The thousands who made their 5000-mile pilgrimage to Sin City formed a sea of green and belted out ‘Ole, Ole Ole Ole’, roaring in approval every time their talisman landed a strike. And yet this freakishly talented Russian was unshaken by both their hostility and McGregor’s attacks. He was a picture of stoicism in the face of all the provocation thrown his way in the build-up and that steely mentality forged in the Northern Caucasus was on show again here. The carnival of colour and noise providing the soundtrack to McGregor’s comeback was extinguished by Khabib’s utterly suffocating grappling ability. As a nine-year-old he wrestled with bears but it was McGregor on the receiving end of an animalistic mauling here. It was always going to be a huge challenge for the Dubliner to reclaim his throne after such a prolonged absence from elite level UFC competition. During his self-imposed two-year exile from the sport, he banked $100million for losing to Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match, schmoozed Vladimir Putin, was charged with assault for throwing a metal dolly at Khabib through a bus window and launched his own whiskey. But don’t let the extra-curricular activities fool you, the 30-year-old has been working ferociously hard in the gym too. It just wasn’t enough. AUDIO COMMENTARY AS FIGHT BREAKS OUT BETWEEN RUSSIANS & IRISH SUPPORTERS IN THE CROWD

Re: Khabib Nurmagomedov's $2 mill Payout Withheld Pending Investigation
Khabib Nurmagomedov's $2 mill Money for UFC 229 Withheld by NAC Pending Investigation
Bleachers Report, 8 Oct 2018. The Nevada Athletic Commission is withholding the guaranteed money due to Khabib Nurmagomedov for his participation in UFC 229 pending a full investigation into the post-fight melee that overshadowed his fourth-round submission of Conor McGregor on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. According to MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi, Nurmagomedov is due $2 million according to the purse agreement, plus an undisclosed cut of the pay-per-view revenue. The incident that sparked the NAC's actions occurred in the immediate aftermath of the main event in Las Vegas. Moments after he got McGregor to tap out, Nurmagomedov hoisted himself out of the Octagon and targeted members of McGregor's team. Members of Nurmagomedov's camp also interjected when they jumped into the Octagon and ambushed McGregor. "The NSAC is going to hand down some kind of fine, suspension or whatever's gonna happen, that's up to them—we'll see," UFC President Dana White said after the brawl, according to MMA Fighting. "If [Nurmagomedov] gets suspended, it depends how long his suspension is, then yeah he's probably going to get stripped if it's a long suspension." Quote:
"First of all I want to say sorry to Nevada Athletic Commission," Nurmagomedov said Saturday night, per USA Today's Martin Rogers. "This is not my best side. "But [McGregor] talked about my religion, he talks about my father. Why people talk about [how] I [jumped] on the cage? He came to Brooklyn and almost killed a couple of people."
