WWE Matt Cappotelli >Emergency Brain Surgery >For Second Time

WWE 'Tough Enough' Winner Matt Cappotelli to Have Emergency Surgery - For Second Time, on Brain Tumor

Bleachers Report, 29 June 2017.

.
Matt Cappotelli, who won WWE's third Tough Enough competition, is undergoing surgery Thursday to remove a brain tumor.

Cappotelli was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005, which ended his wrestling career but resulted in a successful removal. He said part of this new tumor is inoperable.

"Waiting to be taken for my MRI and get prepared for my second brain surgery tomorrow," Cappotelli said in a statement Wednesday. "Just found out the tumor that I had removed 10 years ago has come back much more aggressively and needs to be dealt with."

"It's a very large tumor and there is a portion that is inoperable. The portion that they're hoping to remove will be sent for pathology, which will determine what exactly we are dealing with and provide insight on future treatment plans and the next steps for the inoperable portion in my brain stem #John9:1-3."

Cappotelli, 37, wrestled from 2003-2007 and was in WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental system when he was first diagnosed with the brain tumor. He underwent surgery, which was deemed a success.

Cappotelli later became a trainer for OVW after his recovery.
