A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued a 60-year-old man man whose goat sent him falling an estimated 100 feet off the side of a mountain in Puerto Rico Tuesday.

The unidentified man reportedly sustained multiple injuries after being kicked off the mountain in Yauco while handling the animal, the Coast Guard said in a news release.

The Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew deployed a rescue swimmer to receive the injured man from local rescue crews. The man was transported to a nearby baseball field where he was met by emergency medical services personnel.

The patient was later transported to a hospital in Yauco to receive further medical care, according to the news release. His condition was unknown on Wednesday.

"Our junior co-pilot did an outstanding job working with an experienced flight mechanic and rescue swimmer to maneuver the helicopter in close proximity to the steep terrain in order to complete this demanding rescue,” Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Dill said in a statement.

“It is a testament to the standardization and quality of our unit's training program and the professionalism of our watch standers that we were able to work together to save this man's life."
