Hot Giuliani Blames TRUMP For Bankruptcy-'He Never Paid His Election Case Legal Fees’

Trump & Republicans Move to Give Away National Lands, Losing Billions in Revenue...

Though recreation on public lands creates $646bn in economic stimulus and 6.1m jobs, Republicans are setting in motion a giveaway of Americans’ birthright

The Guardian UK/Daily Mail UK, 21 January 2017

Republican lawmakers have quietly laid the foundation to give away a large portion of America’s 640m acres of national land. These may include areas around the Grand Canyon that feed the Colorado River. In the midst of highly publicized steps to **dismantle insurance coverage for 32 million people and defund women’s healthcare facilities**, TRUMP & Republican lawmakers have quietly laid the foundation to give away Americans’ birthright: 640m acres of national land. In a single line of changes to the rules for the House of Representatives, Republicans have overwritten the value of federal lands, easing the path to disposing of federal property even if doing so loses money for the government and provides no demonstrable compensation to American citizens.

At stake are areas managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Forests and Federal Wildlife Refuges, which contribute to an estimated $646bn each year in economic stimulus from recreation on public lands and 6.1m jobs. Transferring these lands to the states, critics fear, could decimate those numbers by eliminating mixed-use requirements, limiting public access and turning over large portions for energy or property development.

In addition to economic stimulus from outdoor activities, federal land creates revenue through oil and gas production, logging and other industrial uses. According to the BLM, in 2016, it made $2bn in royalty revenue from federal leases. The Outdoor Industry Association estimates federal tax revenue from the recreation economy at almost $40bn.

Ignoring those figures, the new language for the House budget, authored by Utah Republican representative Rob Bishop, who has a history of fighting to transfer public land to the states, says that federal land is effectively worthless. Transferring public land to “state, local government or tribal entity shall not be considered as providing new budget authority, decreasing revenues, increasing mandatory spending or increasing outlays.”

Essentially, the revised budget rules deny that federal land has any value at all, allowing the new Congress to sidestep requirements that a bill giving away a piece of federal land does not decrease federal revenue or contribute to the federal debt.

Republican eagerness to cede federal land to local governments for possible sale, mining or development is already moving states to act. Western states, where most federal land is concentrated, are already introducing legislation that pave the way for land transfers.

In Wyoming, for example, the 2017 senate has introduced a joint resolution that would amend the state constitution to dictate how public land given to the state by the federal government after 2019 is managed. It has little public support, but Wyoming Senate President Eli Bebout said that he thought the state should be preemptively thinking about what it would do with federal land.

The Congressional devaluation of national property is the most far-reaching legislative change in a recent push to transfer federal lands to the states. Because of the Republican majority in Congress, bills proposing land transfers could now swiftly diminish Forest Service and BLM lands across the country.

“We didn’t see it coming. I think it was sneaky and underhanded. It exemplifies an effort to not play by the rules,” said Alan Rowsome, senior director of government relations at The Wilderness Society. “This is the worst Congress for public lands ever.”

Rowsome said he’s not exactly sure how the rule will be used, but he thinks the first places to come under attack might include areas adjacent to the majestic Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Those areas hold uranium and copper, respectively.

Rowsome said he’s worried that sensitive tracts of public land, like the oil-rich Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, could soon be up for sale. Some 60% percent of Alaska is made up of national land, and the state’s representatives have tried to pass laws claiming parts of it for state use as recently as 2015. “It’s an amazing ecosystem and worthy of protection, and it’s very likely that House Republican majority will open that up for drilling,” Rowsome said.

If transferred to the state, Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge could be opened up to drilling
.

Giving away national land has been part of the Republican Party platform since the mid-80s, after Reagan declared himself a Sagebrush Rebel, but it’s regained steam in the past few years as 20 states have introduced some form of legislation suggesting that federal property be given to local governments.

In 2015, Bishop and fellow Utah representative Chris Stewart formed the Federal Land Action Group, a congressional team with the specific intent to come up with a framework for transferring public land. “Washington bureaucrats don’t listen to people,” Bishop said in a statement. “Local governments do.”

But Rowsome argues that’s a populist message without any popular support, pushed by a small faction of legislators with support from industries like mining and energy. Despite the Republican message that Washington has overstepped in designating national parks and monuments, a 2016 study found that 95% of the American public believes that National Parks are worth protecting and 80% said they’d be willing to pay higher taxes to do so.

“Western Republicans that are perpetuating the idea are very well funded by the oil and gas industry during their campaign,” Rowsome said. “It’s special interests wielding power for an agenda that will advance their goal. Nearly 90% of BLM lands are already open, but they can’t stop trying to get more.”

A 2016 Colorado College survey of seven western states found that 60% of voters rejected both the sale of public lands to states and giving states control without sale.

In 2012, Arizona voters struck down two pieces of legislation that would have turned over federal land to the state, including one that claimed the Grand Canyon as state land.

Opponents fear that local governments, especially in states with small budgets, won’t be able to invest in management and will sell off land to make money. Last summer, the Forest Service was spending $240m a week to suppress wildfires, and the Department of Interior estimates the cost of deferred maintenance, like updating roads, at around $11bn.

In December, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead said that transferring public land to his state was legally and financially impractical. He cited firefighting costs on public land as something that the state budget wouldn’t have room for.

Historically, when federal lands have been transferred to states, they have become less accessible. Idaho sold off almost 100,000 acres of its public land between 2000 and 2009. In Colorado, access has been limited the public can only use 20% of state trust land for hunting and fishing.

John Gale, conservation director for the advocacy group Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, said that he’s worried about access for sportsmen. He believes that there’s a further danger in segmenting ecosystems through state-by-state development.

“70% of the headwaters of our streams and rivers in the West are on public lands,” he said. “Rivers and migratory corridors don’t follow state boundaries.”

The incoming administration hasn’t been clear about where it falls on transfers. Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke, tapped to be the next Secretary of the Interior, voted for the rules package, but in the past he’s been against land transfers. President-elect Donald Trump has spoken out against reallocating federal land, but he’s also met with prominent pro-land transfer groups.

Nevertheless, bills proposing land transfer will now have an easy route to passage, as they won’t need to be backed by any financial justification.

The entire rules package passed on party lines, but it runs counter to legislation that passed both the House and Senate in November, the Outdoor Recreation Jobs and Economic Impact Act of 2016. Signed into law in December, the legislation requires the Department of Commerce to count the over half a trillion dollars from the outdoor recreation economy in the country’s GDP for the first time.

“It’s not just natural resources that are on the auction block, but jobs,” said Gale. “For a party that prides itself on being fiscally conservative ... they’re talking out of both sides of their mouth.”
END.

Please, please if nothing else, please pray for our President Trump that God will pour out His wisdom upon him. Lord only knows how much he needs it. Also please pray for his guidance on him and our Country. With what all is going on in the middle-east and N. Korea, I think we all need prayers for guidance and wisdom more than ever in our history. The media in this Country is just using the Russia bull crap to hide the severity of what is truly happening in this world. Keep the sheep dumb and happy and head down the path of slaughter.

Yes he appears mentally unstable, is arrogant, and has insulted and upset the leaders of many countries, which will lessen their support for the US. He is a dangerous man for the stability of the world.

He needs to learn patience, diplomacy, tact and respect for others.

Update re: TRUMP is Most Dangerous President in US History + His Dad was KKK Chief

Donald Trump Has More Power to Launch Military Action Than Any President Since Vietnam War, says Report.

'Trump's predecessors left a legacy of military adventurism that suits his aggressive style,' says report's author

The Independent UK, 10 August 2017.

Donald Trump has more power to go to war than any American president in the last 40 years, a new report has found.

A study published by the University of Waterloo in Canada found the military actions of former presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama have ultimately handed President Trump greater power to carry out military intervention.

In examining US military interventions between 2001 and 2016, the paper found significant parallels in the way Bush and Obama tackled and traversed consultation and authorisation procedures with Congress and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Both of President Trump’s predecessors went to war unilaterally rather than getting permission from Congress.

Although it’s worth noting this is by no means a precedent started by Bush and Obama. Republican and Democrat presidents have a long history of carrying out military operations without approval of congress – especially since the end of the Second World War.

"Right now, Donald Trump has an enormous amount of power to launch military action, perhaps more than any president since the Vietnam War," the report’s author, Aaron Ettinger, said.
"Trump's predecessors left a legacy of military adventurism that suits Trump's aggressive style."

According to the study, since 9/11 both Bush and Obama made efforts to get around domestic and international law in the attempt to balance American independence with respect for international order.

The majority of legal scholars agree America’s founding fathers wanted Congress to make the decision on whether to go to war unless the country is under an attack.

Nevertheless, this has dramatically changed in the modern era, with executive branch lawyers arguing the president, as commander-in-chief, may employ military force unilaterally if they think the strike would be in the national interest.

The report said the world would have to wait to see how recent patterns of American interventionism would manifest themselves in the Trump era and how President Trump would react to mounting global tension.

"Trump's first six months as president have seen tensions rise on the Korean peninsula, ongoing depravity in Syria and Iraq, the devolution of relations with Russia, strains with China, and the alienation of NATO allies," Ettinger, an assistant professor of political science, said.

Quote:

"We will soon see how a president with no foreign affairs experience, an aggressive personality and few restraints will respond to the current global climate."

.

President Trump raised alarm bells about the prospect of a nuclear conflict on Tuesday after he launched his sternest warning to North Korea yet.

He 'tweeted' :

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen”.

Since then Pyongyang has said it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the US Pacific territory of Guam with missiles.

In April 2017, Trump carried out a missile attack on Syrian forces for using chemical weapons against civilians... without authorisation from Congress or the UNSC.

Update Re: TRUMP is Most Dangerous President in US History

Trump Has Given Permission to Every Nazi Group to Do Their Worst & Remember His Father, Fred Trump, was 1 Head of KKK

Irish Central, 16 August 2017.

Trump has given permission to every Nazi group to do their worst

Over 416,000 Americans gave their lives fighting fascism in the Second World War, a number larger than the population of New Orleans.

Donald Trump insulted every one of them and their sacrifice in New York. He also made the Republican Party the party of Jefferson Davis not Abraham Lincoln.

Trump disgraced himself by defending neo-Nazis who were calling out "Jews will not replace us" and "blood and soil," a Nazi war cry, at Charlottesville on Friday night and Saturday.

There were no good people among those marchers, Mr. President. If there had been, they would have walked away on seeing the Nazi flags and hearing those slogans.

"Blood and Soil" (‘Blut und Boden’) was a very important philosophy for Nazi Germany. It referred to Aryan blood and the purity of the men and women who toiled on the land.

Friday night was a mini Nuremberg rally that ended in deaths and injuries
.

There was no moral equivalence between protesters exercising their First Amendment rights and a Nazi using ISIS tactics to plow a car into innocent opponents. For the president to suggest there was is downright racism.

What he has done is give permission to every Nazi group in America to do their worst and because they know they'll get a nod and a wink from a complicit president.

"You know what George W. Bush and Barack Obama would have done – called the stricken mother of Heather Heyer, the dead woman."

White nationalists, alt-righters, and neo-Nazis marched on Virginia University shouting phrases such as "Jews will not replace us", "Blood and soil" and "White lives matter.

Rupert Murdoch has reportedly been urging Donald Trump to fire racist right-winger Steve Bannon from his White House. Murdoch might rethink and try and get rid of Trump as well.

Murdoch is Trump's biggest enabler, his Fox News the equivalent of Pravda for Trump. Every night the station bombards it's "Four legs good, two legs bad" propaganda taken straight from "Animal Farm."

Only Republicans can fire Donald Trump. They hold all the aces in the House and in the Senate. So far they have failed to dirty their hands and confront him. Finally, given Speaker Paul Ryan's tweet condemning the Nazis, they might be getting ready to man up. Impeachment must surely be a necessary evil now.

There are white supremacists within the White House too.

Even right wing Glenn Beck has compared Trump advisor Steve Bannon to the Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels and called Irish American Bannon “quite possibly the most dangerous guy in all of American politics."

The opinion is shared by many. “I don’t think that White House has a chance of functioning properly as long as there’s a resident lunatic fringe,”

Mark Salter, a longtime adviser to Senator John McCain, told The New York Times. Bannon, he said, seems willing to “tolerate something that’s intolerable” in Mr. Trump’s base.

Beck's and Salter’s words have been proven prophetic by events in Charlottesville and the aftermath. There is no doubt Trump’s refusal to condemn the Nazis was out of the Bannon playbook.

Bannon, Trump’s close advisor, spoke to the president before he made his mealy-mouthed remarks and, according to The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman, the best and most informed journalist covering the White House, he convinced Trump not to call out the KKK or white supremacists by name – a position Trump clearly agreed with.

Haberman also revealed that Bannon had spoken to Trump all over that weekend, urging him to hold the line and not attack his base, as Bannon put it.

Only when the pressure became too great did Trump relent and overrule Bannon.

However, on Tuesday in his press conference, Trump was back on Bannon’s wavelength blaming both sides, declaring protesters were as guilty as Nazis and the KKK.

Steve Bannon claims to have been influenced by his Irish-Catholic upbringing and Irish heritage

Trump's Cheif Strategist Steve Bannon.

Trump has rarely read a book
..

But Bannon provides the intellectual underpinning for his racist views.

Bannon is a lover of Fascist writers, which is surprising given his Irish-Catholic upbringing.

The KKK and other groups of the same ilk have as much hatred for Catholics as they do Jews or African-Americans.

Worse, Bannon credits his Irish heritage for his views.

“I come from a blue-collar, Irish Catholic, pro-Kennedy, pro-union family of Democrats,” says Bannon, by way of explaining his politics. “I wasn’t political until I got into the service and saw how badly Jimmy Carter f---ed things up. I became a huge Reagan admirer. Still am. But what turned me against the whole establishment was coming back from running companies in Asia in 2008 and seeing that Bush had f---ed up as badly as Carter. The whole country was a disaster.”

“Trump,” Bannon proclaimed, “is the leader of a populist uprising … Elites have taken all the upside for themselves and pushed the downside to the working- and middle-class Americans … Trump saw this. The American people saw this. And they have risen up to smash it.”

A recent story by the Huffington Post revealed Bannon’s leanings. He loves a book called “The Camp of the Saints,” a French novel that outlines a race war between the “civilized” white West and the evil brown hordes of the so-called East.

In the book, the author describes hordes of Indians trying to conquer white Western Christendom as “thousands of wretched creatures” and “turd-eaters.”

The book is described as “nothing less than a call to arms for the white Christian West, to revive the spirit of the Crusades and steel itself for bloody conflict against the poor black and brown world without and the traitors within.”

Trump’s right-hand man also loves Nazi-affiliated Italian philosopher Julius Evola. Evola, who was virulently racist and anti-Semitic, was a big fan of Nazi leader Heinrich Himmler.

Evola spent years in Nazi Germany, where he proudly declared himself to be a “super fascist.”

Today’s Nazis love Evola too. Neo-fascist leader Richard Spencer told the Times he was excited that Bannon knew of Evola.

“It means a tremendous amount,” Spencer said, adding that Trump’s chief counselor “is at least open to them.”

It is incredible that a man with such views has such a close relationship with the President of the United States and worse that a president with a daughter and son-in-law of the Jewish faith tolerates him so openly. America did not vote for accommodation with fascism, Mr. President. The 418,000 Americans who died fighting it in World War II would surely agree.

I feel sorry for many friends of mine, good people, who voted for this man. We live in desperate times and the only hope seems to be that Republicans will remember their Lincoln roots and cast out the racists in their midst

Default re: TRUMP-'Walking Down a Dark Path' >Ivanka & Donald Trump Jr Nearly Indicted

Thanks but I'll have to disagree or as they say agree to disagree. He did come out Sat. and denounce all bigotry and hate groups but because he did not mention the white supremacist idiots by name so many thought he didn't go far enough. Although even some of the criticism from his own party had made practically the very same statements. Then when he did come out later and mention the white supremacist, it still wasn't good enough. It all goes back to George Soros and his hiring of protestors during the election.
As far as Trumps father being a member of the KKK, never proven as follows by Truthorfiction.com.

Donald Trump, Trump Family Members, Members of KKK-Fiction! & Unproven!
Summary of eRumor:
Accusations that Donald Trump is a member of the Ku Klux Klan, or that Trump’s father was a member of the KKK, have gone viral.
The Truth:
Accusations about the Trump family’s ties to the Ku Klux Klan are both false and unproven.
These accusations surfaced in September 2015 after a New York Times report was unearthed from 1927 that identified a man named Fred Trump, the name of Donald’s father, among those arrested in a brawl between KKK members and the NYPD. Fred Trump’s address was the same as an address he listed in Census records, but other details of the arrest are unclear, Boing Boing reports:
In an article subtitled “Klan assails policeman”, Fred Trump is named in among those taken in during a late May “battle” in which “1,000 Klansmen and 100 policemen staged a free-for-all.” At least two officers were hurt during the event, after which the Klan’s activities were denounced by the city’s Police Commissioner, Joseph A. Warren.
“The Klan not only wore gowns, but had hoods over their faces almost completely hiding their identity,” Warren was quoted as saying in the article, which goes on to identify seven men “arrested in the near-riot of the parade.”
Named alongside Trump are John E Kapp and John Marcy (charged with felonious assault in the attack on Patrolman William O’Neill and Sgt. William Lockyear), Fred Lyons, Thomas Caroll, Thomas Erwin, and Harry J Free. They were arraigned in Jamaica, N.Y. All seven were represented by the same lawyers, according to the article.
The final entry on the list reads: “Fred Trump of 175-24 Devonshire Road, Jamaica, was discharged.”
In 1927, Donald Trump’s father would have been 21 years old, and not yet a well-known figure. Multiple sources report his residence at the time—and throughout his life—at the same address.
The NYPD has said that police reports from the incident are unavailable, and it’s unclear why Fred Trump was arrested, and what his involvement was. Given that Trump could have been an innocent bystander who got tangled up in the melee, or that he could have been fighting against KKK members, the accusation that he was a member of the KKK is unproven.

The Rev. Pierre Bynum article says it best on the Charlottesville incidence.

Charlottesville -- Another horrific manifestation of the racial divide that persists in our nation was displayed in historic Charlottesville, home to Thomas Jefferson's University of Virginia. The city council's vote to remove the statue of General Robert E. Lee drew hundreds of protestors and counter protestors, who clashed violently -- screaming, punching, clubbing, hurling water bottles and spraying one another with harsh chemicals before the scheduled demonstration. White supremacists, KKK, and neo-Nazis came to the demonstration, some armed for violence. Counter protestors, too, arrived, some similarly armed. Some were injured in clashes. Later, a man from Ohio with links to white supremacist activity rammed his car into a crowd of counter-protestors, killing one woman and injuring 19. Two law enforcement officers also died in a helicopter crash. The tragic loss of life was as great as the violence was senseless.
This confrontation only magnifies the political, cultural, racial, and religious divides that already exist in our country. While many have cherry picked the president's statements, few reported these words:
"Above all else, we must remember this truth: No matter our color, creed, religion or political party, we are all Americans first. We love our country. We love our God. We love our flag. We are proud of our country. We're proud of who we are. So we want to get the situation straightened out in Charlottesville and we want to study it and we want to see what we're doing wrong as a country, where things like this can happen. My administration is restoring the sacred bonds of loyalty between this nation and its citizens -- but our citizens must also restore the bonds of trust and loyalty between one another. We must love each other, respect each other and cherish our history and our future together. So important. We have to respect each other. Ideally, we have to love each other."
Then President Trump condemned the violence, no matter the originator. Later, he called out some of the extremist groups by name. But his message about respecting and loving each other has been lost in a whirlwind of sanctimonious censure, some even questioning his humanity.
A group of conservative black pastors and Christian leaders held a press conference in Washington yesterday to respond to the media's attacks on the president. Corrogan Vaughn, a black Republican who in 2016 challenged incumbent Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), argued that "those in the media who blame Trump for the racial tension in the United States are trying to turn Trump into a villain... Don't make our commander in chief a villain when in actuality it is more the [villainy] of the media in terms of making something where nothing is."

May the Church be wholly identified with Jesus Christ as Lord and love one another out of obedience to His commandment. May we stand against racism of every kind and encourage respect and love for one another as creations of God. May we advocate for justice and the swift execution of the laws against every form of violence. May all among us stand for the liberty to think and speak freely while rejecting every form of political correctness and identity politics. May we never forget our nation's history, the good and bad, knowing that God, Himself, was careful to include in Holy Scripture both the goodness and the sins of the men and women he used in Bible history so that we could learn from both.

Update Re: S.Service Running Out Of Money Protecting TRUMP+Golf Trips Breaking the Bank

Secret Service Director Says Agency Running Out of Money Protecting Trump

Some 42 people require protection under Trump, leading to an increasing number of agents resigning.

The US Secret Service is facing a cash crunch because of the high cost of protecting Donald Trump, his many homes and golf trips, and his large family, its director has revealed.

Secret service agents are resigning and others might have to go without pay after more than 1,000 agents protecting the Trump family hit salary and overtime caps, the head of the US Secret Service said.

Jamie Peck, The Guardian UK, 23 August 2017.

With more than four months to go before the end of the year, director Randolph “Tex” Alles told USA Today the Secret Service can no longer pay hundreds of agents it needs to carry out its protective mission, due in part to the size and activities of Trump’s extended family.

Alles said the agency was burdened beyond its typical presidential workload by Trump’s weekend travel schedule to his properties in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia, as well as providing protection for his adult children on their business trips and vacations, both domestically and internationally.

“The president has a large family, and our responsibility is required in law,’’ Alles told the newspaper. “I can’t change that. I have no flexibility.’’

Under Trump, 42 people require protection, including 18 members of his family, compared with 31 during the Obama administration, Alles said. The additional workload had led to an increasing number of agents resigning from the ranks of the agency, he revealed.

Without additional funding, the director warned, the agency would not be able to pay agents for the work they have already done. Alles said he had approached lawmakers with a proposal to raise the combined salary and overtime cap for agents from $160,000 a year to $187,000.
Even if the caps are raised, he added, 130 veteran agents would not be fully compensated for hundreds of additional hours they have already booked.

Upcoming events that will further strain the agency’s 1,100 agents include the opening of the UN General Assembly next month, when nearly 150 foreign heads of state converge on New York.

Alles’s comments come during a period of uncertainty at the agency, whose job it is to protect current and former presidents and vice-presidents and their families, as well as combat certain financial crimes.

A panel convened after a September 2014 breach during which an Iraq war veteran suffering form PTSD was stopped by security in the White House with a small knife found that agents often worked “an unsustainable number of hours”. As a result of that and other breaches, then-director Julia Pierson resigned. Subsequently, a recruiting blitz of around 800 agents and officers over the past year has limited the overall drop in numbers to 300.

As the protection agency lurches between crises that have included a prostitution scandal in Colombia, efforts to fix its finances have proved elusive or temporary.

Maryland congressman Elijah Cummings, the senior Democrat on the House oversight and government reform committee who first sounded the alarm on the agency’s funding crisis, said through a spokesperson: “We cannot expect the Secret Service to be able to recruit and keep the best of the best if they are not being paid for these increases [in overtime hours].”

Trump’s security costs have been an issue from almost the outset of his presidency.

His travel costs to Mar-a-Lago, Florida, are estimated at $3m each, for a total of $20m over just his first three months in office.

In all, Trump has made seven trips to Florida, five to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, and returned to Trump Tower in Manhattan once.

The Trump entourage attracted further attention when the Secret Service recorded $100,000 for hotel bills in Uruguay accompanying Eric Trump on a business trip.
Other trips made by Trump’s sons include trips to the UK, Dominican Republic, British Columbia and Dubai.

Security has also been provided for Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, on a skiing trip to Aspen, Colorado, and Tiffany Trump’s holidays to Germany and Hungary.

Alles characterized the challenges posed by protecting Trump as a new “reality” and described the White House response to the issue as understanding. “They accommodate to the degree they can and to the degree that it can be controlled. “They have been supportive the whole time.’’

MORE:

Trump's Endless Mar-a-Lago Trips are Breaking the Bank.

The president has traveled almost every weekend on ‘working vacations’. If the demands of the job are too much for him, he needn’t stay in office

‘The Secret Service has already spent about $60,000 this year on golf cart rentals alone. Much of this cash presumably goes to Trump’s own golf cart businesses.’

The Guardian UK, 23 August 2017.

Back in March, Donald Trump released a budget blueprint that proposed to eliminate some 62 federal agencies and programs – and cripple more of them – by slashing their budgets to far below their actual operating costs.

Now he’s threatening to bankrupt yet one more federal agency: the Secret Service.

According to a report from USA Today, the Secret Service – which is tasked with keeping the president and his family safe – is on course to spend its entire annual budget by September. That’s an overage of about 25%.

More than 1,000 agents have already hit federally mandated salary and overtime caps, prompting the service’s director, Randolph “Tex” Alles, to ask lawmakers to raise the combined salary and overtime cap from $160,000 to $187,000 per year so the agency can get through Trump’s first term. Optimistically, the report makes no mention of a second.

Even if the measure passes, about 130 agents might not get paid in full for hours they’ve already worked, which is a problem. “We cannot expect the Secret Service to be able to recruit and keep the best of the best if they are not being paid for these increases [in overtime hours],” stated Jennifer Werner, a spokesperson for the Maryland congressman Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the House oversight and government reform committee.

Unless Secret Service agents are willing to guard Trump – who is rumored to treat them like servants – and his brood for free, the agency is headed for some serious staffing issues.

The reasons for this intense level of spending include the president’s large family, frequent trips and numerous residences.

The number of people under Secret Service protection increased to 42 under Trump, and his grown children often crisscross the world opening new Trump hotels and vacationing in luxurious and expensive places.

Eric Trump’s 2017 business travel to Uruguay “cost the Secret Service nearly $100,000 just for hotel rooms”. I hope they at least came with a complimentary breakfast buffet.

Since taking office, Trump himself has travelled almost every weekend on “working vacations” to properties he owns in New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida, most of which have “golf club” in their names. The Secret Service has already spent about $60,000 this year on golf cart rentals alone.

Much of this cash presumably goes to Trump’s own businesses, lending credence to critics who speculate he only ran for president so he could become as rich as he’s always bragging about being.

(No word yet on whether Trump’s hotels gave the people tasked with keeping their boss alive a break on the price.)

This is the same hardworking public servant who once criticized Barack Obama for golfing when he should have been killing terrorists with his bare hands, or something. (And by “once”, I mean 27 times.)

“I wouldn’t leave the White House,” Trump opined on the campaign trail. “You know, Obama always leaves the White House. Think of it, you’re elected president, you’re in the White House, why would you want to leave? With hundreds and hundreds of securities [sic] … and he could do it from, like, Washington.” Why indeed?

Alles did some damage control in the wake of the USA Today story. In a statement released Monday, he admitted the agency was having financial problems.

“This issue is not one that can be attributed to the current administration’s protection requirements alone, but rather has been an ongoing issue for nearly a decade due to an overall increase in operational tempo,” he said.

Oh, OK.

Are all those trips to Mar-a-Lago evidence that our president just needs one long, endless holiday to get away from the stress of it all? Are all those public rallies a cry for help? Or does our 45th president just not understand the connection between his weekend activities and the federal budget deficit?

Probably the latter, but just in case; there’s a better way out of this, my friend, and it rhymes with “design”.

Oh Crap! Trump's Access to Nuclear Codes is 'Pretty Damn Scary'

Ex-Intelligence Chief: Trump's Access to Nuclear Codes is 'Pretty Damn Scary'

James Clapper questioned the US president’s ‘fitness to be in this office’ after his speech in Phoenix, joining a growing chorus of alarm over his erratic behavior

The Guardian UK, 26 August 2017

Donald Trump’s access to the nuclear codes is “pretty damn scary”, a former US intelligence chief has said, calling Trump’s rally in Arizona on Tuesday night “disturbing”.

James Clapper, director of national intelligence (DNI) for seven years under Barack Obama, questioned the US president’s “fitness to be in this office” after his demagogic performance in Phoenix, and expressed anxiety about Trump’s power to launch nuclear weapons without consulting Congress or any other official.

Once a president has verified his identity with a code kept constantly on his person or nearby, the military chain of command has no power to block his launch orders.

“Having some understanding of the levers that a president can exercise, I worry about, frankly, the access to the nuclear codes,” Clapper said, pointing to the current stand-off with North Korea.

If “in a fit of pique he decides to do something about Kim Jong-un, there’s actually very little to stop him. The whole system is built to ensure rapid response if necessary. So there’s very little in the way of controls over exercising a nuclear option, which is pretty damn scary.”

Clapper did not mention Richard Nixon, who was involved in a tense stand-off with North Korea in 1969, after the regime shot down a US spy plane. Nixon is reported to have gotten drunk and ordered a tactical nuclear strike, which was only averted by his national security adviser, Henry Kissinger.

Nixon’s biographers Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan quoted a top CIA official, George Carver, as saying: “The joint chiefs were alerted and asked to recommend targets, but Kissinger got on the phone to them. They agreed not to do anything until Nixon sobered up in the morning.”

Clapper joined a growing chorus of alarm over Trump’s erratic behaviour. The Republican chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee, Bob Corker, said last week that Trump “has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful”.

On Capitol Hill, a Democratic congressman and senator have introduced a bill that would prohibit the president from launching a nuclear first strike without a declaration of war by Congress.

In the wake of the Phoenix speech and Clapper’s remarks, one of the bill’s authors, the congressman Ted Lieu, tweeted “Freaked out yet?” and called Congress to support the bill.

Peter Westmacott, a former UK ambassador to Washington, said on Twitter that the rally showed “shades of 1933 Germany”.

Clapper, who stood down as DNI in January, pointed out that he had served the US under every US president from John Kennedy to Barack Obama, having joined the Air Force in 1963.

“I don’t know when I’ve listened and watched something like this from a president that I found more disturbing,” he said. “Having some understanding of the levers of power that are available to a president if he chooses to exercise them, I found this downright scary and disturbing.

“How much longer does the country have to, to borrow a phrase, endure this nightmare?” Clapper asked. He expressed hope that other Republicans would join Corker and “reach the point where enough is enough”.

Trump is reported to have fallen out with the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, whom he is said to have berated in a foul-mouthed telephone call for failing to protect the president from the investigation into his campaign’s relationship with the Kremlin during the election campaign. The growing investigation, led by the former FBI chief Robert Mueller, is often cited privately by White House officials as driving Trump’s wilder angry outbursts.

Bruce Blair, a former missile launch officer, warned last week about the president’s untrammeled power to start a nuclear war. He voiced concern over Trump’s threats against North Korea, vowing the country would never be allowed to field a missile capable of striking the US mainland and declaring that “fire and fury like the world has never seen” would befall Pyongyang if it continued to threaten the US.

“Nuking another country just because it seeks to acquire nuclear weapons enjoys virtually zero support from US nuclear troops,” Blair wrote in a Washington Post commentary. “Yet Trump indulges in issuing such threats, and he has unchecked authority to order a preventive nuclear strike against any nation he wants with a single verbal direction to the Pentagon war room.”

Blair is now a research scholar in Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security and a founder of Global Zero, a movement calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons.

“ Under the current nuclear strike protocol, [Trump] can consult any and all – or none – of his national security advisers, and no one can legally countermand his order,” he wrote.

“If he gave the green light using his nuclear codes, a launch order the length of a tweet would be transmitted and carried out within a few minutes. I could fire my missiles 60 seconds after receiving an order. There would be no recalling missiles fired from silos and submarines.”

Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr Were Under Investigation for Alleged Fraud for Two Years

US President's Eldest Children Accused of Using Inflated Sales Figures to Tempt Property Buyers

Ivanka Trump and her brother Donald Trump Jr allegedly came close to being charged with fraud after misleading potential buyers of properties that were failing to sell.

The US President’s eldest children were accused of using inflated figures about how well flats were selling in a bid to lure further buyers, reports investigative news outlet, ProPublica, which collaborated with The New Yorker and WNYC.

Evidence reportedly included emails from the Trumps making clear they were aware the figures were massaged, including one in which they discussed how to coordinate the false information they were providing.

Another worried that a reporter might be closing in on the alleged fraud.

When New York's Major Economic Crimes Bureau opened an investigation into the siblings in 2010, the Trump Organization hired top criminal defence lawyers.

Their lawyers told prosecutors the Trumps had made inflated, though non-criminal claims, but to the frustration of their father the case remained open, ProPublica reported.

Eventually Mark Kasowitz, who had been Donald Trump Sr’s lawyer for a decade, became involved.

In 2012 he donated $25,000 to the re-election campaign of Cyrus Vance Jr, the Manhattan District Attorney (DA) and the man who oversees the Major Economic Crimes Bureau.

In May of that year Mr Kasowitz asked Mr Vance to drop the case. Three months later the DA told prosecutors to close the investigation, ProPublica reported.

Defending his decision, Mr Vance said: “I did not at the time believe beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime had been committed. I had to make a call and I made the call, and I think I made the right call.”

Although he handed back Mr Kasowitz’s $25,000 (£19,000) at the time of the meeting, less than six months after the case was dropped Mr Vance made an even larger donation to the election campaign.

Mr Vance has since told ProPublica he will now hand this second donation back, four years later, to stop the money being a “millstone around anybody’s neck”.

Mr Kasowitz told reporters he donated the money because he was “extremely impressed” at the “impeccable integrity” of Mr Vance. “I have never made a contribution to anyone’s campaign, including Cy Vance’s, as a ‘quid-pro-quo’ for anything,” he added.

Donald Trump Sr unveiled the Trump SoHo in June 2006 and signed the licensing deal with his two children.

Their partners on the development included two Soviet-born businessmen - Tevfik Arif and Felix Sater - who ran the Bayrock Group, a real estate firm which had a suite of offices in Trump Tower for eight years.

Sater, a criminal once jailed for stabbing a man in the face, is a former associate of gangsters and was once an FBI informant.

With the opening of the development coinciding with the financial crash in September 2007, properties were not selling, but the Trumps allegedly claimed the opposite.

Between them, the siblings announced 31 per cent, 55 per cent, then 60 per cent of the properties had been sold. But in March 2010, according to a sworn affidavit by a Trump partner, only 15.8 per cent of the apartments had been sold.

In August 2010 a group of buyers sued the Trump Organization, arguing that falsely claiming 60 per cent of the properties had been sold added value that was not really there.

After the law suit was filed, prosecutors at the Major Economics Crime Bureau opened a criminal investigation.

Meanwhile the Trump Organization had settled the civil case, handing back 90 per cent of buyers’ deposits in exchange for an agreement not to cooperate with prosecutors unless they were subpoenaed.

Two years later, after the meeting between Mr Kasowitz and Mr Vance, Trump defence lawyers were told the investigation was being dropped.

The Trump Organization has been contacted for comment but none had arrived at the time of publication.

Default re: Trump is Failing' >Strikes Out Solo as Enemies Circle & 'Friends Disappear'

i'm sorry i have disliked TRUMP since the 80s'. i'm not stupid enough to do something stupid like some people out there. but what made me sick to my stomach is one of the dudes who is redoing our bathrooms mine is done already and looks nice by the way.

he likes trump and i'm sorry i just don't get why? he and i'm not talking about Trump saying this but this dude i'm talking about called obama a traitor and to hazard a guess i think it's cause he apologized for bombing Japan over 70 years ago. i'm not a vet but i can see that if you are that may piss one off.
Obama did do stuff i didn't like any president but he also did some good as well.

Trump though is out to get rid of it all regardless how much good he did. and yes he did bad things as well but i said some good not all good.

other than pissing off a LOT of people and thinking this is still that stupid show he was on. plus not realizing from my understanding that the president may hold a lot of power but only holds so much.

i do wonder if he will even last the 4 years he's in office? and if he does i wouldn't be surprised if we got ww3 cause he wants a war to call his own. even though to quote a podcast i like. we really haven't won one since WW2. i could be wrong on that i dunno

Report says Donald Trump Hates ‘Everybody at the White House’.
He Has Taken His own Radical Steps on Iran and Healthcare

Quote:

A report in Vanity Fair magazine, citing two sources, claimed Donald Trump had vented to his longtime security chief, Keith Schiller:

“I hate everyone in the White House! There are a few exceptions, but I hate them!”

.

Donald Trump’s decision to go it alone with rapid fire announcements on healthcare and Iran reflects his boiling frustration with the limits of presidential power, analysts say.

The US president made a brazen move on Thursday night to halt payments to insurers under Barack Obama’s healthcare law. Democrats accused him of a “temper tantrum” and spiteful attempt to sabotage legislation he promised but failed to replace. Less than 24 hours later, he condemned the “fanatical” government of Iran as he decertified his predecessor’s nuclear deal, defying his own cabinet and disquieting European allies.

The one-two punch showed Trump straining to assail Obama’s legacy but stopping short of terminating either the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, or the Iran nuclear accord. Both are back in the hands of Congress, a source of constant exasperation for the property tycoon turned novice politician, who finds himself isolated and lashing out.

“The Congress has been frustrating to him,” John Kelly, the White House chief of staff, told reporters on Thursday. “Of course, our government is designed to be slow, and it is. His sense, I think, as a man who is outside the Washington arena, a businessman, much more of a man of action, I would say his great frustration is the process that he now finds himself in.

“Because, in his view, the solutions are obvious, whether it’s tax cuts and tax reform, healthcare, infrastructure programmes, strengthening our military. To him, these all seem like obvious things that need to be done to protect the American people, bring jobs back.”

Since taking office 10 months ago as the first US president with no previous political or military experience, Trump has been given a crash course in the workings of government and the delicate balance of power between the White House, Capitol Hill and the courts. That his writ only runs so far has come as a rude awakening. His executive orders can only achieve so much, and frustrations have sometimes spilled out in impetuous speeches and tweets.

Rick Tyler, a political analyst and partner at Foundry Strategies, said: “He is acutely aware of the limits of presidential power. It’s not like being the CEO of a company where you just do what you want to do.

“By using executive orders, Trump is making something happen on healthcare. He’s prevented from changing it himself, but will force another branch of power to react. It’s the same on Iran.”

Having repeatedly vented his anger at the Republican-controlled Senate for failing to repeal and replace Obamacare, despite seven years of promises, Trump has now thrown a spanner in the works by ending the so-called cost-sharing subsidies that help people on low incomes. The White House claims the government cannot legally continue to pay the subsidies because it lacks formal authorisation by Congress.

The president explained on Friday: “It’s step by step by step and that was a very big step yesterday … We’re going to have great healthcare in our country. We’re taking a little different route than we had hoped, because Congress forgot what their pledges were. So we’re going a little different route. But you know what? In the end, it’s going to be just as effective, and maybe it will even be better.”

The intervention, however, could backfire. It was condemned by Democrats including the House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, who told reporters:

“The president single-handedly decided to raise America’s health premiums for no reason other than spite and cruelty.”

Senator Chris Murphy tweeted: “Trump’s decision to stop ACA payments is nuclear grade bananas, a temper tantrum that sets the entire health system on fire. My god.”

Doctors’ groups also warned of “dramatic, if not catastrophic, increases in premiums across the country” and millions of Americans losing coverage. Nineteen states plan to sue.

Pro-Trump states are most at risk from changes to Affordable Care Act > Nearly 70 per cent of the people benefiting from Obamacare cost-sharing subsidies live in states that voted for Trump in the last election

Trump has previously blamed the lack of healthcare fixes on Obama or Congress, but he now risks being held personally responsible for cutting the system off at the knees. Robert Shrum, a Democratic consultant, said: “The healthcare thing is madness in both policy and politics. He’s wilful, he’s angry, he’s clearly lashing out. He was better off leaving healthcare to Lamar Alexander and Patty Murray”, the senators working on a bipartisan deal.

Quote:

Trump’s decision to stop ACA payments is nuclear grade bananas ... that sets the entire health system on fire. My god
Senator Chris Murphy

.

Trump’s claim that Iran has not lived up to the spirit of the nuclear deal and his threat to terminate it also put him at odds with his secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, and his defence secretary, Jim Mattis. The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said he welcomed what he called a courageous decision, but the leaders of Britain, France and Germany said they stood committed to the agreement.

Evan McMullin, a former CIA operative and independent presidential candidate, wrote via email: “I think the president’s actions on healthcare and Iran are the latest examples of his standing political strategy, which is to throw red meat to his base in order to maintain his base, as evidence of his unfitness and inability to govern mounts.

“If anything, his use of this tactic seems to be accelerating as it becomes increasingly clear, even to some of his closest friends and political allies, that he is failing.”

This acceleration coincides with reports of a darkening in Trump’s mood. A report in Vanity Fair magazine, citing two sources, claimed he had vented to his longtime security chief, Keith Schiller:

“I hate everyone in the White House! There are a few exceptions, but I hate them!”

The journalist Gabriel Sherman also wrote that several people close to the president told him that Trump was unstable, “losing a step” and unraveling. Such concerns appear to be reaching a critical mass. NBC News reported that Tillerson had referred to Trump as a moron. The president insisted the story was false, but challenged Tillerson to an IQ contest.

Then Senator Bob Corker became one of the few Republicans on Capitol Hill to openly denounce Trump, though it is widely suspected that he speaks for many colleagues. During a Twitter clash last Sunday, Corker wrote: “It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”

In an interview with the New York Times, the senator from Tennessee said: “I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it’s a situation of trying to contain him … He doesn’t realise that we could be heading towards world war three with the kind of comments that he’s making.”

He also told the Washington Post on Friday that Trump had “castrated” Tillerson with remarks about his attempts to talk to North Korea.

Thomas Barrack Jr, a billionaire who was the top fundraiser for Trump’s election campaign, said he has been shocked and stunned by some of the president’s incendiary rhetoric and tweets.

“He thinks he has to be loyal to his base,” Barrack told the Washington Post. “I keep on saying, ‘But who is your base? You don’t have a natural base. Your base now is the world and America, so you have all these constituencies; show them who you really are.’ In my opinion, he’s better than this.”

If anyone can get through to Trump, it may be Barrack, one of his oldest friends. Rich Galen, a Republican strategist, said: “That got everybody’s attention because he’s buddy and spoke at the Republican convention. So there seems to be some change. That’s part of what’s feeding it.”

McMullin agreed that Trump seemed rattled by the recent criticisms from Tillerson, Corker and Barrack. “He probably understands their remarks represent a new stage of acceptance setting in across the country, even among his supporters, that he is unfit and incapable.

“That, I think, is inspiring his accelerated efforts to throw red meat to his base to shore up their support. I expect that to continue, if not intensify, and to result in increasing political challenges for the GOP as 2017 and 2018 elections approach and in years to come.”

In recent days, I’ve spoken with a half dozen prominent Republicans and Trump advisers, and they all describe a White House in crisis as advisers struggle to contain a president who seems to be increasingly unfocused and consumed by dark moods.

Update re: Trump's Plan to Shrink 4 Land Based Monuments Will Affect Ocean & Environment

Trump Tweets Support For Nasty Bigot Who Calls Catholicism “a Satanic Cult” > An Evangelical Anti-Catholic Who Defended 'HITLER' Ideals and is a President Donald Trump Supporter >> says Catholicism is a “Cult-Like Pagan Religion” and the Religion is Spread Due to “The Genius of Satan."

Dr. Robert Jeffress got a massive endorsement for his new book via a twitter 'shout out' by the US President. >> ”Great book just out, ‘A Place Called Heaven,’ by Dr. Robert Jeffress – A wonderful man!”

Dermot McEvoy, IrishCentral/AP/Reuters, 24 October, 2017

Trump shaking hands with Dr. Robert Jeffress is on YouTube

Trump’s “wonderful man,” has reminded many of his previous rhetorical crazy tweets on IMMIGRANTS/BLACKS/LATINOS.

Now his latest hatred for Catholics many open many minds on how mentally unstable TRUMP is....

Great book just out, "A Place Called Heaven," by Dr. Robert Jeffress - A wonderful man!

.
.

Trump’s “wonderful man,” has saved his worst hatred for Catholics. Rightwingwatch.org has an amazing transcript of Jeffress' thoughts on Catholicism:'

Quote:

“This is the Babylonian mystery religion that spread like a cult throughout the entire world. The high priests of that fake religion, that false religion, the high priests of that religion would wear crowns that resemble the heads of fish, that was in order to worship the fish god Dagon, and on those crowns were written the words, ‘Keeper of the Bridge,’ the bridge between Satan and man.

“That phrase ‘Keeper of the Bridge,’ the Roman equivalent of it is Pontifex Maximus. It was a title that was first carried by the caesars and then the emperors and finally by the Bishop of the Rome, Pontifex Maximus, the Keeper of the Bridge.

“You can see where we’re going with this. It is that Babylonian mystery religion that infected the early church, one of the churches it infected was the church of Pergamos, which is one of the recipients of the Book of Revelation. And the early church was corrupted by this Babylonian mystery religion, and today the Roman Catholic Church is the result of that corruption.

“Much of what you see in the Catholic Church today doesn’t come from God’s Word, it comes from that cult-like, pagan religion...

“Isn’t that the genius of Satan? If you want to counterfeit a dollar bill, you don’t do it with purple paper and red ink, you’re not going to fool anybody with that. But if you want to counterfeit money, what you do is make it look closely related to the real thing as possible.

“And that’s what Satan does with counterfeit religion. He uses, he steals, he appropriates all of the symbols of true biblical Christianity, and he changes it just enough in order to cause people to miss eternal life.”

.

Next time you’re in your Catholic Church of choice, perhaps you should remember Galatians, 6:7:

“As you sow, so shall you reap.”

Most of this anti-Catholic jeremiad comes across as being from someone who himself is unhinged with bigotry or in Jeffress’ own words ;
“a wacko.”

So, it may be news to all those Catholics who voted for Trump in 2016 by a 52-45 margin (white Catholics went all out for Trump 60-37) that their president is pals with a religious bigot who thinks that their religion is a “counterfeit religion.”

REMEMBER AMERICANS THOSE WORDS;

“As you sow, so shall you reap.”

END

Default Re: TRUMP Thinks-US 'Pastor' Who Says SATAN Created Catholic Church-is a Wonderful Ma

i'm not the most religious person at all. i do believe in god, and people who force me to what they believe can pretty much go F. themselves they have a right to what they believe in. as do i as well, i think there's a LOT of really big douch bags with people who are Christian but i don't think that is everyone who is borne a Christian has an agenda and is out to cause trouble.

they have their beliefs and want to do good in the world and i can respect that. if they want to share it with their kids and their Families they have a right to do so as they should have that right to do so. but so does every religion as well have that right. we may not agree with them all but the ones who aren't out to hurt anyone at all but just enjoy life and who they believe in they have that right weather they are american or not.

and some of it may disagree with but than i have that right too.. just like i don't know how Trump is getting away with so much with crap that he's saying. i hate the KKK i'm not black so as much as i love to say i do understand what it means to be black cause i don't. i can take a guess but that's about as close to it as i can get but that doesn't bother me.

i have a KKK leader that lives up the road from me from what i'm told and i've never met anyone in his family at all nor do i intend to ever set food on his property ever. as far as i know he's never hurt anyone but i could be wrong. i don't go anywhere near on on grounds that he makes me sick to my stomach.

now i dunno if i have anyone in my family that was or is in the KKK but if i learned i had an uncle that was in it he'd be dead to me cause it's just plain wrong that even exists at all. and i dunno much about Trump's father but if he was in the KKK he's than a guy i would have wanted nothing to do with if he was still alive.

i have no proof at all that Trump himself is in it at all. but i would not be surprised at all if he was since the KKK just love him. they may have the right to do their free speech and i may not like it but they have that right to do it.

i'm not a cop or anything so me trying to interfere with that would be pretty pointless. but i will never understand why anyone is racist when it's just skin color that's all.

i just dunno what to say about these last posts you posted cause i'm just speechless on the stupidity of it all. no being Christian oh i just noticed it said Catholic something i am. i don't belong to no cult, the last time i was in a church was when my niece a few years ago was baptized.

i don't follow the rules if you want to call it that cause i don't like to be told how to live but to live like how i feel. just like everyone else has that right. now Sciectoligy or however that's spelled? they are a cult and i will always believe that, i don't get or understand why anyone would want to join them

but than i don't go out and make trouble for them either i've got better things to do with my life. sorry for the ramble and it going all over the place but i was just going by the various posts on here.

Update Re: TRUMP Thinks-US 'Pastor' Who Says SATAN Created Catholic Church-is a Wonderful Ma

North Korea Says Trump Deserves to DIE for Insulting Kim Jong-un >Days After Trump Mocked Him for Being 'Short and Fat'

  • Kim Jong-un's party paper says Donald Trump should get death penalty
  • It responded to a Trump tweet calling Kim Jong-Un 'short and fat'
  • State media editorial said Trump is 'sentenced to death by the Korean people'
Daily Mail UK, 16 Nov 2017

Last week, the President took to his preferred social media channel to air his grievance that Kim had called him 'old', adding that he had refrained from calling the North Korean dictator 'short and fat'.

In response, North Korean Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun wrote that Trump had now been 'sentenced to death by the Korean people'.

War of words: Kim Jong-Un's North Korean Workers' Party newspaper wrote that U.S. President Donald Trump had now been 'sentenced to death by the Korean people'

'The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership,' the editorial said.
'He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people,' it added.

Since becoming president, Trump has engaged in an escalating war of words with Kim Jong-Un, trading personal insults and threats of military strikes and raising concerns about an outbreak of hostilities.

Towards the end of his Asia tour, Trump sent a tweet from Hanoi that took the verbal jousting to a new level, taunting the North Korean leader over his height and weight.

'Why would Kim Jong-Un insult me by calling me 'old,' when I would NEVER call him 'short and fat'?' he tweeted.

#sad: Donald Trump tweeted last week, wondering why Kim had called him 'old' when he had never called him 'short and fat'

North Korea today released new photos of its dear leader
smiling as he sat in a tractor

Kim Jong-un, 33, is reportedly between 5ft7in and 5ft9in tall, and is thought to weight around 300lbs.

If Trump's own words on his weight and height - 6ft3in and 236lbs - is to be believed, the 71-year-old has a BMI of 29.5, which puts him just 0.5 units from entering the obese category.

The members of the ruling Kim dynasty - past and present - enjoy near god-like status in North Korea, which has demonstrated extreme sensitivity to any remark that might be seen as mocking or disrespectful of the leadership.

The editorial also took a dig at Trump's failure to tour the demilitarised zone (DMZ) dividing the two Koreas - a traditional stop-off for senior US officials visiting the South.

Trump's helicopter taking him to the DMZ had turned back after just five minutes due to bad weather -- an explanation the newspaper dismissed.

'It wasn't the weather,' the editorial said: 'He was just too scared to face the glaring eyes of our troops.'

Update re: Trump's Plan to Shrink 4 Land Based Monuments Will Affect Ocean & Environment

Donald Trump's 'Pocahontas' Racist Slur Could Boost Case for Impeachment > Historian Claims

Abuse of Congress grounds to remove a US president, says Allan Lichtman

Independent UK, 1 Dec 2017.

Donald Trump‘s decision to mock a rival by calling her “Pocahontas” could lead to his impeachment, a political historian has claimed.

The US President used the Native American icon’s name to refer to Senator Elizabeth Warren during a White House event honouring Navajo veterans, who helped the US Armed Forces to pass secret messages during the Second World War.

Ms Warren, a Democrat who claims to have Native American ancestry said she “really couldn’t believe” the comment.

Political historian Allan Lichtman who has authored The Case for Impeachment, said the comment form “part of an article of impeachment.”

He added that Abuse of Congress has previously been cited as grounds to remove a US president.

An 1868 article of impeachment against Mr Johnson – one of only two US Presidents who have been impeached – said he “used intemperate, inflammatory and scandalous harangues … and loud threats and bitter menaces … against Congress”.

Mr Lichtman told Newsweek that ”a fairly powerful” article of impeachment could be formed if such comments were combined with “very intemperate attacks” on the judiciary and freedom of the press.

Many have condemned Mr Trump’s use of “Pocahontas” to refer to Ms Warren.

Navajo National Council Delegate Amber Kanazbah Crotty, who said the comments represented “the latest example of systemic, deep-rooted ignorance of Native Americans”.

Ms Warren herself, told MSNBC: “This was supposed to be an event to honour heroes, people who put it all on the line for our country. It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States can’t even make it through a ceremony honouring these heroes without throwing out a racial slur.”

Her fellow Massachusetts senator, Ed Markey, said: “What Mr Trump said about my partner, Senator Warren is a slur. It disparages the Native American war heroes, standing right beside the President, who risked their lives to protect his right to make such a disgusting comment.”

The White House dismissed the criticism. Asked if the word was racist, White House press secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders, said: “I don’t think that it is.”

She was then asked why the President would say something that was “offensive to many people while honouring the Navajo code talkers — genuine American heroes”.

She replied: “I think what most people find offensive is Senator Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career.”

MORE;

Donald Trump’s 'Working & State Visits' to UK Postponed.

Trip was set to take place early in the New Year, but now no formal date is in place

Independent UK, 1 Dec 2017.

US diplomats have reportedly dropped Donald Trump‘s planned working visit to the UK.

Mr Trump had been expected to visit the UK early next year to open the new US embassy – although it would not have been a full state visit and he would not have meet the Queen.

However, even that trip has now been postponed, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.

The site reported a senior US diplomat as saying: “The idea of a visit has obviously been floated, but not December and not January. I would not expect a Trump visit in January.”

The reported postponement comes amid a public spat with Theresa May over the President’s retweets of a far-right group.

But the diplomat told the Telegraph the two were not related.

On Wednesday Mr Trump retweeted three videos posted by Britain First deputy leader Jayda Fransen, causing widespread outrage.

Ms May said the decision was “wrong” and MPs queued up to condemn the President.

Mr Trump hit back on Twitter by telling the Prime Minister: “Don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Mr Trump did not know who Ms Fransen was when he retweeted her posts, and defended his actions.

Asked if Mr Trump had elevated a far-right group to prominence, she added: “I think what he’s done is elevate the conversation to talk about a real issue and a real threat and that’s extreme violence and extreme terrorism, something that we know to be very real and something the president feels strongly about talking about and bringing up and making sure is an issue every single day.”

Home Secretary Amber Rudd told the Commons on Thursday that in relation to the visit, “an invitation has been extended and accepted” but no date had been fixed.

ya know i think it was wrong that he called him short and fat cause he has no idea how to respect anyone but himself. but the thing is saying he deserves to die cause he said that is just plain stupid.

there's a lot about Trump i don't like but i don't think the man deserves to die. and if he did i would not be surprised only cause on how many people he's pissing off this year. but to be fair him saying that is not the worse thing he's ever done getting rid of Net Neutrality is one of them for example but i do realize he wasn't the only one that didn't want it.

Trump's Plan to Shrink Land Based Monuments Will Affect Vital Ecosystems, Experts Warn

Over the Past 3 Weeks, Trump Signed Two Proclamations to Reduce the Bears Ears National Monument by Nearly 85 percent and cut Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by Almost HALF.

ATLANTA (AP) -

"Avengers" star Mark Ruffalo said he is disgusted with President Donald Trump's plan to shrink two sprawling Utah national monuments by nearly two-thirds.

Ruffalo told The Associated Press in a recent interview that Trump's decision was a "slap in the face" to Native Americans. Last week, the president signed two proclamations to reduce the Bears Ears National Monument by nearly 85 percent and cut Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by almost half.

Trump's declarations would replace the federally-protected lands with five smaller monuments, cutting them by 2 million acres. Several lawsuits have been filed against the president, challenging his cuts. There are fears drilling or mining might be authorized without the protections.

President Barack Obama created the Bears Ears monument last year. The Grand Staircase-Escalante was instituted by President Bill Clinton in 1996.
Ruffalo said Trump's decision is environmentally wrong and an attempt to cater to a group of wealthy people.

"Honestly, it's disgusting," Ruffalo said before he was honored at the Captain Planet Foundation annual gala on Friday in Atlanta. The Oscar-nominated actor received an award for his dedication to renewable energy transformation at the event to raise funds for its programs and to recognize environmental stewardship.

"They are giving away our land that we own collectively to a small elite group of people, so they can do nothing but make money," he continued.

The Trump administration’s plan to shrink four land-based national monuments has provoked howls of anguish from environmental groups, Native American tribes and some businesses, such as the outdoors company Patagonia.

Accompanying changes to protected monuments in the oceans – vastly larger areas than their land-based counterparts – have received less attention, but could have major consequences for the livelihoods and ecosystems dependent upon the marine environment.

Ryan Zinke, the secretary of the interior, has recommended to Donald Trump that three sprawling marine monuments, one in the Atlantic and two in the Pacific, be either opened up to the commercial fishing industry or reduced in size, or both.

“These ‘blue parks’ harbor unique species, a wealth of biodiversity and special habitats,” said Jane Lubchenco, the administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration between 2009 and 2013.

“They are undersea treasures. I fervently hope that these incredible marine monuments will not be degraded by opening them up to extractive activities. There are plenty of other places in the ocean to fish.”

In 2009, George W Bush created the Pacific Remote Islands national monument around seven islands and atolls in the central Pacific. The monument, subsequently expanded by Barack Obama to become what was the largest marine protected area in the world, comprises “the last refugia for fish and wildlife species rapidly vanishing from the remainder of the planet”, according to the Fish & Wildlife Service, boasting creatures such as sea turtles, dolphins, whales, sharks and giant clams.

Zinke noted that the monument, which spans more than 490,500 sq miles, protects largely untouched coral reefs and marine species but also pushed out Hawaiian and American Samoan fishers who previously used long lines and huge scoop-like nets in the area. The interior secretary said the monument should be shrunk to an unspecified new shape and allow regional authorities to oversee commercial fishing in the monument.

Trump has been handed similar recommendations for Rose Atoll, a 10,000 sq mile ecosystem in the south Pacific that was protected in 2009, with Zinke adding there is “no explanation” as to why there can’t be commercial fishing in America’s only protected area of the Atlantic, the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts.

Combined, these marine monuments encompass an area more than three times the size of California – dwarfing the four terrestrial monuments set to be resized. But the land and sea monuments share common arguments over conservation, resource extraction and the role of the federal government to restrict certain activities in prized ecosystems.

In March, a coalition of New England fishing organizations sued the federal government over the Obama administration’s creation of the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts, an area of plunging rock formations that contain a wealth of cold water corals, located 130 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The simple “stroke of President Obama’s pen” would put fishers out of work, said Beth Casoni, executive director of the Massachusetts Lobstermen’s Association. About 800,000lb of lobster are caught near the canyons each year.

“The monument designation will have a negative rippling effect across the region as fishermen will have to search for new fishing grounds – only to find they are already being fished,” Casoni said.

The legal challenge, predicated on the claim that Obama exceeded his authority in naming the area a monument, was paused by the Trump administration’s review of national monuments declared since 1996. If Zinke’s recommendations are followed, commercial fishing could now be ushered back into the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts, beyond the two lobster and crab operators currently allowed in the area before a sunset clause bars them in six years’ time.

Conservation groups fret that commercial fishing would only be a precursor to further invasions, such as oil drilling or seabed mining. The Atlantic monument is considered particularly sensitive due to its dense forests of deep-sea corals and its role as a migratory route for the endangered North Atlantic right whale, which has experienced an alarming dip in numbers this year.

“This is a spectacular place that contains animals incredibly vulnerable to drilling, fishing, noise and pollution,” said Peter Baker, director of US oceans, north-east, at the Pew Charitable Trusts.

“It shouldn’t be too much to ask to protect 2% of the US’s exclusive economic zone off the Atlantic coast for future generations. Allowing commercial fishing there is really a distortion of why you would have a national monument in the first place.”

Baker said the New England Fisheries Management Council, which Zinke indicated should determine fishing restrictions in the monument, has a “horrible track record” of overfishing and conflicts of interest.

Janice Plante, spokeswoman for the council, rejected that claim.

“We work very hard to have sustainable fishing,” she said. “We had no position on the designation of the monument but we support [Zinke’s] recommendations because we would manage it the best. We have the expertise and the experience.”

In the Pacific, the equivalent industry body, Western Pacific Fishery Management Council, has sought greater access for sought-after stock, such as bigeye tuna.

Kitty Simonds, executive director of the council, said the review of national monuments “provides an opportunity for America to remember that it has the ability to protect marine ecosystems without closing more than half of the US Pacific island waters to fishing.”

But ecologists argue that a doubling in the amount of tuna caught off Hawaii since 2006 is evidence that protection of key breeding and foraging ecosystems has not hindered the industry.

“These monuments are like bank accounts, whereby the fishing industry can live off the interest, which is the reproductive output of the protected areas,” said Robert Richmond, a marine ecologist at the University of Hawaii.

“Invalidating this management is nothing short of irresponsible and flies in the face of best science. It’s a race to the bottom, for the short-term gain of the fishing industry but to their long-term cost.”

In US waters, comparatively well regulated compared with many other countries, more than a quarter of fish stocks are either overfished or severely depleted.

“The US is among only a few nations who have taken significant steps to protect the vibrancy of its ocean treasures through large, highly protected blue parks,” said Lubchenco.

“It is only recently that our technology has allowed us to mine, drill and fish virtually everywhere in the ocean. Creation of highly protected blue parks like these monuments is beginning to re-establish the all-important balance of places to be used and places to be treasured. We need both.”

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Republican-led House committee is inviting the founder of outdoor retail company Patagonia to testify about an issue that has ignited a public feud: President Donald Trump's decision to shrink two sprawling Utah national monuments.

The company also sued to block the size reduction for Bears Ears National Monument.

The committee tweeted back that Patagonia was "lying" about Trump's plan so it could sell more to "wealthy elitist urban dwellers."

Patagonia spokeswoman Corley Kenna says the company learned about the invite from the media and will respond.

Update re: TRUMP >Feds Raid Office of Trump's Lawyer

Is This The Beginning of the End of Trump's Real Estate Empire?

The Trump name is being scrubbed off skylines from New York to Toronto to Rio as the brand backfires

The Guardian UK, 18 Jan 2018.

It takes all of 30 seconds for the doorman at Trump Place to kick me out of the building. “Ma’am, you need to leave,” he says, when I tell him I am a journalist. Then he practically shoves me out the marble lobby, back through the revolving doors .

Tensions are high at Trump Place, 200 Riverside Boulevard. The luxury condominium complex on New York’s Upper West Side is currently embroiled in an increasingly contentious legal battle with the Trump family. Like many of the towers bearing the Trump brand, 200 Riverside Boulevard isn’t actually owned by the Trumps; it simply licenses the name, which is plastered on the building in big brass letters. And now many residents don’t want it any more.

Audrey Nelson lives with her boyfriend in Trump Place. Speaking to me on the street outside, she explains that the condo board surveyed residents about the Trump branding following the 2016 election. “Most people want to get rid of it,” she says. But DJT Holdings, a company largely owned by Donald Trump, got wind of this and was threatening the building with legal action. “I don’t think we’re supposed to talk about it,” says another resident, eyeing me suspiciously.

Plastering the Trump brand – which can cost tens of millions of dollars to lease – on your luxury hotel or apartment complex once added a veneer of prestige and upped profitability; Trump used to boast it would increase a property’s value by 25%. Licensing his name certainly seems to have increased his personal fortune. A financial summary Trump issued when he kicked off his presidential campaign in 2015 valued his “real estate licensing deal, brand and branded developments” at $3.3bn – the most significant single source of what Trump then claimed to be an $8.7bn total net worth.

While these numbers are impossible to verify and have been the subject of much debate, it is unambiguous that the Trump brand has traditionally been a source of considerable value. That may no longer be the case.

Since the Donald embarked upon his political career his surname appears to have become a liability. Speaking to me over the phone, previous 200 Riverside Boulevard tenants told me that Trump’s foray into politics has been disastrous for property prices. Harvey and Peggy Koeppel put their apartment on the market just before the 2016 election. “It sat there for months,” Harvey Koeppel says, until they were forced to “accept 10% less than their asking price”.

It’s not just the Koeppels who have seen the value of their Trump-associated property fall. According to a recent report by CityRealty, a real estate listings and research service, prices in the 11 Trump-branded condo buildings in Manhattan dropped below the borough average for the first time ever at the end of 2017. While the average price per square foot for all Manhattan condos fell by 1%, the price per square foot for condos in Trump buildings fell 7% in the 12 months to November 2017.

“Any building that chooses to end its association with the Trump brand is likely motivated by financial reasons … [and] no doubt greatly influenced by beliefs about how the brand affects the building’s bottom line,” says Gabby Warshawer, director of research for CityRealty. All of which, she says, raises “questions about the viability of the Trump brand”.

Indeed, just down the road from where I’m standing, three other apartment buildings were also once known as Trump Place. Just eight days after the 2016 election, the rental buildings rebranded as 140, 160 and 180 Riverside Boulevard, after hundreds of the building’s residents petitioned the owner, Equity Residential, to “dump the Trump name”. The brand no longer signified premium, but prejudice, said residents: it had become an embarrassment. (The Trump Organization declined multiple times to contribute to this story.)

More recently, a hybrid hotel and condo building in downtown Manhattan also disassociated itself from the president, rebranding from Trump SoHo to the Dominick last December. The building’s owners bought out the Trump Organization’s management contract following unrelenting bad press and reports of low occupancy, some of which, to be fair, predated Trump’s entering the White House.

In 2006 construction of the building was halted when human remains from an old burial ground were discovered on the site, and a construction worker died after falling 42 floors from the building in 2008. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office also opened a criminal case (which it dropped last October) against Donald Jr and Ivanka Trump, investigating them for misleading investors about the value of the SoHo hotel.

With this chequered history, things still took a turn for the worse when Trump entered the White House: 11 of the 12 NBA teams that had once stayed at Trump SoHo boycotted the hotel and Koi, a high-end sushi restaurant that had once been frequented by celebrities, closed in April 2017 after seeing a slump in business that may have related to the new president.

Even the Trump Organization itself seems to have realized that the family name has depreciated in value. In late 2016 Trump Hotels announced a new hotel brand aimed at millennials – called Scion.

The choice of name perhaps reflected prevailing public opinion towards the Trump hotel collection. YouGov data compiled exclusively for Guardian Cities shows that high-income Americans have a dramatically lower impression of Trump-branded hotels than they do other hotel brands at the same price point. While Americans with a family income of more than $100,000 had positive impressions of the Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Four Seasons, Westin and Omni hotel brands, sentiment of Trump hotels alone was overwhelmingly negative: reaching a high of -5.4 in November and a low of -17.1. (YouGov first started tracking attitudes towards Trump brands in June 2017). By comparison, impressions of Ritz-Carlton were 44.6 in November.

But not everyone is pessimistic about the long-term prospects of the Trump name. “The fact that a few Trump affiliated hotels are changing brands is insignificant when you consider the same could be said of a hundred other hotel brands,” says John W O’Neill, a professor at the Center for Hospitality Real Estate Strategy at Pennsylvania State University. “Hotel owners change brands for all sorts of reasons, so it isn’t necessarily negative.” For example, it is possible that some leases may have been up for renewal.

What’s more, some of Trump’s properties are booming thanks to his presidency. Trump’s DC hotel is making record profits and, according to the president’s last financial disclosure about his business assets, released last June, income from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach was around $37m, up from $30m in his May 2016 financial report. But these properties seem to be very much the exception not the rule, particularly if one looks at the state of his brand outside the US: the Trump name is being scrubbed from skylines all over the world.

In the two-and-a-half years since he announced his presidential bid, his brand has come off at least seven buildings in four cities: Panama, New York, Rio, and Toronto. Trump-branded hotels in Vancouver and Chicago are also rumoured to be attempting to sever their ties.

Canadians, in particular, have been very clear that they don’t want the Trump name associated with their cities. In December 2015, shortly after he called Mexicans “rapists” and criminals, Toronto councillor Josh Matlow campaigned to get the owners of what was then the Trump Tower to change the building’s name.

“Toronto’s city motto is ‘diversity our strength’,” says Matlow now. “My view, along with many other Torontonians, was there no place for Trump’s name in the skyline of the world’s most diverse city.” In June 2017 the building’s owners spent millions of dollars exiting their contract with the Trump Organization and the Toronto skyline is now Trump-free.

Matlow concedes that “a number of ingredients” factored into the decision to remove Trump’s name, including legal battles by unhappy investors over poor management of the development itself. The final decision was likely “a combination of financial trouble – and then Donald Trump imploding his own brand due to his hateful and divisive rhetoric”.

Today the only Trump-branded hotel left in Canada is in Vancouver, and there are rumoursit may not last there. Brent Toderian, Vancouver’s former chief planner, says he spoke out as soon as the name was first attached to the building, saying “that the Trump name and brand was incompatible with Vancouver’s brand”.

His feelings are widely shared. Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson refused to attend the opening ceremony of the hotel last year, telling reporters at the time that Trump’s brand had “no more place on Vancouver’s skyline than his ignorant ideas have in the modern world”.

The Trump name may also soon also be scrubbed from Central America. In 2015 owners of the Trump Ocean Club, a luxury apartment building in Panama City, fired Trump’s management company and removed his name from the building. The Trump name remained on the adjoining hotel, with whom the Trump Organization had a separate agreement, but there have been multiple reports that the owners are now looking to follow suit: the Trump name is hurting business.

Data shared with Guardian Cities shows that occupancy rates for Trump Panama in the beginning of January was around 25%, well below the 43.7% average occupancy for luxury hotels in Panama in January 2017 recorded by STR, a data and analytics specialist. “Not even the US embassy staff stay at the hotel,” says a source close to the matter who wished to remain anonymous, citing the Trump Organization’s proclivity for litigation. “We’re at the heart of the hispanic world and he’s alienated most everyone in Latin America and most of the rest of the world. The hotel unit owners are desperate.” (On Friday the US ambassador to Panama resigned, saying he could no longer serve under the Trump administration.)

With so many buildings publicly cutting ties with the president, or seeking to, are we witnessing the beginning of the end of Trump’s real estate empire? One industry expert, who also wished to remain anonymous, says they doubt the Trump name has long-term viability on either residential buildings or hotels. “My instinct says [Trump] is going to end up in a bad situation and developers are going to want to distance themselves. The damage to the name is already profound and will only get worse.”

There are ample signs that the longer Trump remains in DC, the less welcome his name will be in cities around the world.

While the president may be “a very stable genius”, his real estate empire is beginning to look more than a little shaky...

Update re: TRUMP >Feds Raid Office of Trump's Lawyer

Jared Kushner Stripped of Top-Level Security Clearance

President's Son-in-Law is One of Several White House Staff to Have Clearance Downgraded

Independent UK, 28 Feb 2018.

White House adviser and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner has had his security clearance downgraded
...

Jared Kushner, Donald Trump‘s son-in-law and the White House adviser, has been denied access to top-secret intelligence after having his security clearance downgraded.

While maintaining the responsibility for trying to broker peace between Israel and Palestinians and other high-profile tasks, Mr Kushner has had his interim security clearance downgraded from top secret to secret, along with a host of others. The change was also confirmed by Mr Kushner’s lawyer.

All White House aides who had been working on an interim clearance were informed of the change via an internal memo, Politico reported. The document was not signed by Chief of Staff John Kelly, however.

Mueller probe widens to include Kushner’s dealings with China, Qatar

The staffers, all operating on a Top Secret/Secret Compartmentalised Information (SCI) clearance, were taken down to the Secret designation.

The SCI designation meant staffers had access to information that came from sensitive intelligence sources and had to be “walled off”, according to the news outlet.

Mr Kushner, 37, had been attending Mr Trump’s daily briefings from the US intelligence committee, but will no longer have access to those.

The memo appeared to be in response to facts unveiled during the scandal involving former White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter.

Mr Porter resigned from his position earlier this month after it was revealed that his two former wives were accusing him of alleged physical abuse and that was why Mr Porter’s permanent security clearance had not gone through as yet.

Background check chief has ‘never seen’ mistakes and omissions at level of Jared Kushner forms

He was one of several White House staff who had not received their permanent clearance but who still had fairly unfettered access to secret information.

Mr Trump has the right to grant Mr Kushner permanent clearance and it remains unclear why he has not done so yet.

On 23 February, the same day of the clearance memo, Mr Trump said he would leave the decision up to Mr Kelly. The former Marine general said that same day in a statement: “I have full confidence in his ability to continue performing his duties in his foreign policy portfolio including overseeing our Israeli-Palestinian peace effort and serving as an integral part of our relationship with Mexico.”

It is unclear whether Mr Kushner needs Top Secret/SCI clearance in order to work on the Middle East peace process or the US relationship with Mexico.

Mr Kushner had repeatedly hit roadblocks on his way to obtaining the permanent security clearance – the former New York real estate broker had to refile his paperwork multiple times.

The chief of the National Investigations Bureau Charles Phalen told a House committee back in October 2017 that he had “never seen that level of mistakes” made on the form before.

Altogether the form included four addenda and well over 100 errors – whether by omission or mistakenly entered information.

One notable missing item on his initial form was his June 2016 meeting with his brother-in-law Donald Trump Jr, then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, and a Russian lawyer linked with the Kremlin Natalia Veselnitskaya.

The group had reportedly met to talk about adoptions of Russian orphans by US citizens but by Mr Trump Jr’s own admission, the meeting had been set up for “opposition research” - Ms Veselnitskaya had information on 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton’s financial dealings in Russia.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders would not comment directly on the memo but said during a news conference that Mr Kushner is “a valued member of the team and he will continue to do the important work that he’s been doing since he’s started in the administration.”

His attorney Abbe Lowell said in a statement that his client “has done more than what is expected of him in [the security clearance] process”, adding that the change in clearance level would “not affect Mr Kushner’s ability to continue to do the very important work he has been assigned by the President”.

His appointment to the position was met with criticism last year due to his lack of political or government service experience.

Breaking News re: TRUMP's Scottish Mum & Her Pregnant Sister That Was BANNED From Her Home

Federal Agents Raid Office of Trump's Personal Lawyer Michael Cohen

Cohen's Lawyer Says Agents Seized 'Protected Attorney Client Communications'

The Associated Press · Posted: 9 APR, 2018

U.S. federal agents armed with search warrants have seized documents from U.S. President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen, a defense lawyer said Monday.

The raid on Cohen's office was done by the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan and was based, in part, on a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller, according to Cohen's lawyer, Stephen Ryan.

"The decision by the U.S. Attorney's Office in New York to conduct their investigation using search warrants is completely inappropriate and unnecessary," Ryan said in a statement.

"It resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients."

Ryan did not elaborate on the documents that were taken from Cohen's office but said he has co-operated with investigators, including speaking with lawmakers looking into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

In his remarks to the Senate intelligence committee, Cohen confirmed that during the early parts of the Trump campaign, the Trump Organization pursued a proposal in Russia for a Trump Tower Moscow.

He has downplayed the significance of the deal, which fell through, and said it wasn't related to the campaign.

Paid $130,000

But Cohen has more recently attracted attention for acknowledging that he paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 US out of his own pocket just days before the 2016 presidential election. Cohen has said neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Daniels and he was not reimbursed for the payment.

Trump told reporters last week that he did not know about the payment.

Daniels has said she had sex with the president in 2006. She has been suing to invalidate the nondisclosure agreement she signed before the election and has offered to return the $130,000 she was paid in order to "set the record straight."

Daniels argues the agreement is legally invalid because it was signed by only Daniels and Cohen, but was not signed by Trump.

The New York Times first reported on the raid.

Donald Trump’s Mother Came From a Scottish “Sh**hole” Place by His Standards

Irish Central, 20 Apr 2018

.
Famine, Troubles, War and Poverty in Tong Island off Scotland. What Would the President’s Mother Mary Anne MacLeod Make of her Immigrant-Bashing Son?

By his own lights, Donald Trump’s mother came from one of the places he called “****holes.”

When he called for a ban on all such immigrants from such strange places he could have been describing his mother’s own Tong, her isolated hometown on the Isle of Lewis, in the Hebrides, off Scotland.

Trump held it in such little regard that he made just one whirlwind visit.
While beautiful on the outside, the history of Tong, his ancestral hometown, is one of extreme poverty, violence and unemployment. The village only got running water in the 1960s.The residents spoke only Gaelic for generations making it difficult to find work elsewhere.

The village of Tong, on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland....

In 1929, desperate for a new life, Trump's mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, left the island seeking a new life in America. She left a troubled land behind, one that had been devastated by the same Famine that hit Ireland in the 1840s and torn apart by clearances, when rich landlords, many of them absentee, tried to drive the peasants off the land.

Donald Trump's mother, Mary Anne Macleod.

Sounds like a nasty place, an island to be wary of when accepting immigrants.

Indeed, a check on the history bears this out. Local historians say Trump has land agitators in his past, relatives driven off their land in Tong by absentee landlords who wanted the land for grazing sheep.

The agitators fought back, seeking access to their land. Some referred to themselves as Bolsheviks – hardly a title Donald Trump would want to own up to.

Why his mother might even have been stopped at Ellis Island with that family background.

Emigrants arriving to Ellis Island in New York.

It was bloody and unforgiving and mirrored the land wars in Ireland. The situation “beggars all description,” a land manager from the mainland wrote upon visiting Tong in 1828, according to the Scottish historian James Hunter.

“It is worse than anything I ever saw in Donegal [in Ireland] where I always considered human wretchedness to have reached its very acme.”

Mary Anne was born on the island of Lewis in 1912 and left for America in 1929 to be with her sister Catherine, banished from Tong because she had a baby outside wedlock.

Like many immigrants Mary Anne worked as a maid and in many menial jobs. She was forever grateful to America for the opportunity it gave her.

Unfortunately, her son seems oblivious to that reality. Does he not realize his mother was part of the same historical wave of immigrants from many embattled countries he is trying to block today?

I wonder what his mother, Mary Anne would make of her immigrant-bashing son.

his mom was pretty i think. ya know i assume she has since away since he's in his what 70's now? having said that i have a feeling she would have maybe disowned him if she were still alive. one thing you also forgot to add was i don't think his wife is an American either but from one of the many countries he treats like sh*t.

plus what i hear he's also got staff that are i'm not even sure what they are mexicans maybe? someone did tell me but it was months ago and i honestly forget.

i was listening to that Podcast WTF that i talk about once in awhile on here and this isn't recent. where they were talking about how with them getting rid of the mexicans from working in the field and well the immagrints sorry for my bad spelling.

from not having them in the field we are getting screwed over by the food in the fields that feed the USA every day and that there's not one American that wants to work for pennies in order to do that. and they are right

i gotta admit that was pretty funny, and to be fair if it was about any other president i'd still be laughing.

Environmental Group to Carve Donald Trump’s Face into The Side of Arctic Iceberg

The Stunt aims to Show The Impact of Climate Change by Live Streaming The Sculpture Melting

Independent UK, 26 May 2018.

The group says they will install a live stream to show how quickly the sculpture melts Project Trumpmore
...

A climate change group is raising half a million dollars with the goal of carving President Donald Trump’s face into an arctic iceberg.

The Finnish group Melting Ice is spearheading the initiative with the intention of carving a 115-foot ice sculpture of Mr Trump’s face, and have dubbed the effort “Project Trumpmore”.

They hope that they will be able to illustrate the dangers of climate change by watching to see how long the sculpture takes to melt.

“Global warming is one of the most important issues and topics of today, There are still people who ponder whether it’s a real issue,” Nicolas Prieto, the chairman of the group, said in as statement on the association’s website.

“We want to build the monument for all of us, so we can see how long the sculpture lasts before melting,” the statement reads. “Often people only believe something when they see it with their own eyes.”

Mr Trump has previously whether climate change exists, and has at times even said that parts of the world would benefit from the effects. At other times he has claimed that climate change was “created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive”.

The president has acted accordingly during his time in the Oval Office as well. He has appointed a head of the Environmental Protection Agency who had previously sued that same agency over greenhouse gas emissions guidelines. He has also overseen a government that is poised to approve offshore drilling in areas that had previously been off limits.

If “Project Trumpmore” raises enough money, the group says that they will install a live stream of the sculpture as it melts.

Mr Trump has previously mused about being added to Mount Rushmore — the rock sculpture carved into the side of a mountain in South Dakota featuring several prominent American presidents. He even said during a rally in Ohio last year that he thinks there’s a possibility he could be added....

I dont think the iceberg will melt as quickly as they expect..cos TRUMP is as COLD as ICE.

okay i gotta admit that is brilliant they are going to do that. i really hate to say this but he isn't the only one out there sadly who doesn't believe that exists. if he were i'd be saying a number of things about him but he isn't so why bother? i think it was in Texas oh i dunno a year or so ago maybe longer Bill Nye a really smart guy i'm sure you've heard of him. he did a speech about it in of all places Texas and he got into an argument there.

it was a heated one too, where they insisted that it doesn't exist and he's saying it does and he even showed proof i believe as well. they STILL didn't believe him and i get the impression Bill Nye isn't the type of guy who loses it like that normally.

i'm sure not everyone in Texas believe that but sadly too many do. i also wouldn't be surprised if other states think like this too sadly.

Advice for Donald Trump From Oscar Wilde on The Damage Done Separating and Locking up Children

Irish Central, 7 Aug 2018.

Children separated from their parents on the US Mexico border.US gov handout

Humanity and insight relevant to the US President today from the famed Irish writer who witnessed horrific treatments of children in Reading Gaol, during his own two-year incarceration....

During and after his own two-year incarceration (1895-1897) for “gross indecency,” ie homosexuality, Oscar Wilde wrote an extraordinary attack on the notion of taking children from their parents and locking them up alone in prisons and confined spaces. (Sound familiar?)

It was motivated by the horrific treatment that Wilde witnessed of children in Reading Gaol where he served his two-year sentence as prisoner number 4099.

The humanity and insight of Wilde, often mistakenly considered a frivolous writer, is fully on display. His words ring true today.

The Irish playwright and novelist Oscar Wilde.

The letter to The Daily Chronicle could have been written to President Donald Trump, ICE and the Department of Homeland Security who took thousands of children away from their parents on the US Mexico border and incarcerated them. Babies, toddlers, teens it made no difference, they were shipped into camps some thousands of miles away from their parents and confined there.

Wilde’s outraged words could have been written today.

Here is an abridged version:

Quote:

“I learn with great regret, through an extract from the columns of your paper, that the warder Martin, of Reading Prison, has been dismissed by the Prison Commissioners for having given some sweet biscuits to a little hungry child.

I saw the three children myself... but the little child I saw on the afternoon of Monday, the 17th at Reading, was tinier than any one of them. I need not say how utterly distressed I was to see these children at Reading, for I knew the treatment in store for them. The cruelty that is practiced by day and night on children in English prisons is incredible, except to those who have witnessed it and are aware of the brutality of the system.

People nowadays do not understand what cruelty is. The present treatment of children is terrible, primarily from people not understanding the peculiar psychology of a child’s nature. A child can understand a punishment inflicted by an individual, such as a parent or guardian, and bear it with a certain amount of acquiescence. What it cannot understand is a punishment inflicted by Society. It cannot realize what Society is...

The child consequently, being taken away from its parents by people whom it has never seen, and of whom it knows nothing, and finding itself in a lonely and unfamiliar cell, waited on by strange faces, and ordered about and punished by the representatives of a system that it cannot understand, becomes an immediate prey to the first and most prominent emotion produced by modern prison life–the emotion of terror. The terror of a child in prison is quite limitless.

I remember once in Reading, as I was going out to exercise, seeing in the dimly-lit cell, right opposite my own, a small boy. Two warders, not unkindly men, were talking to him, with some sternness apparently, or perhaps giving him some useful advice about his conduct. One was in the cell with him, the other was standing outside. The child’s face was like a white wedge of sheer terror. There was in his eyes the mute appeal of a hunted animal. The next morning, I heard him at breakfast-time crying and calling to be let out. His cry was for his parents.

This terror seizes and dominates the child, by whomsoever, it is inflicted.

In the case of the little child to whom Warder Martin gave the biscuits, the child was crying with hunger on Tuesday morning, and utterly unable to eat the bread and water served to it for its breakfast. Martin went out after the breakfasts had been served and bought the few sweet biscuits for the child rather than see it starving. It was a beautiful action on his part and was so recognized by the child, who, utterly unconscious of the regulation of the Prison Board, told one of the senior warders how kind this junior warder had been to him. The result was, of course, a report and a dismissal...

I know Martin extremely well, and I was under his charge for the last seven weeks of my imprisonment. On his appointment at Reading he had charge of Gallery C, in which I was confined, so I saw him constantly. I was struck by the singular kindness and humanity of the way in which he spoke to me and to the other prisoners. Kind words are much in prison, and a pleasant “Good morning” or “Good evening” will make one as happy as one can be in solitary confinement. He was always gentle and considerate.

As regards the children, a great deal has been talked and written lately about the contaminating influence of prison on young children. What is said is quite true. A child is utterly contaminated by prison life. But the contaminating influence is not that of the prisoners.

It is that of the whole prison system—of the governor, the chaplain, the warders, the lonely cell, the isolation, the revolting food, the rules of the Prison Commissioners, the mode of discipline as it is termed, of the life …"
.

Wise words, ones that key members of the Trump administration should read sometime and reflect. We think we are better than our forebears wiser, more compassionate insightful. Recent events and Wilde’s letter prove differently. Separating children forcibly from their parents is horrific in any century.

i have no proof of this of course, but you ask if he's not informed? well you know he may just be informed to be fair. now does he understand what the hell all that means HELL NO. cause anyone who disagrees with him who try and prove him wrong he fires.

honestly i wouldn't be surprised if they do their best well some of them anyways to try and make him understand this stuff. but trying to make him understand is like teaching a blind man to see it can't be done. i was talking to a friend at work

and he admitted to me he did vote for the guy cause he thought he would have changed things and in short made them better well that didn't happen no sir ree it didn't. but he did say he more or less regrets voting for him. before i forget i see that he fired Steve Bannon which honestly shocks me cause he more less was butt buddies with him for the longest time. i wonder what happened ?

Midterms 2018: Nuns to Protest Donald Trump's Tax Cuts Outside Mar-a-Lago Resort Ahead of Crucial Vote

The group is visiting 21 states and targeting Republicans ahead of the crucial midterms

Independent UK, 21 AUG 2018.

A group of nuns fighting for social justice and income equality will protest Donald Trump’s controversial tax cuts outside of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Nuns on the Bus, a Washington-Based Catholic advocacy group, will depart for a 21-state tour across the country in October, when they hope to target Republican candidates who have supported the GOP’s tax cuts — and their voters. The trip will end in Florida just before the 2018 midterm elections, culminating in a demonstration alongside the president’s exclusive estate.

"The reason behind the tour is that the terrible tax bill passed by our Congress is really a detriment to our nation," Sister Simone Campbell, the head of the Nuns on the Bus, said in an interview with The Independent. "After educating people, we’re going to head to their elected officials...I can’t wait to see what they have to say."

With nearly 36 per cent of support nationwide, the $1.2tn Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 is less popular than Mr Trump, who has suffered historically low approval ratings throughout his White House tenure. The law has continued to lose popularity since its implementation, with critics saying it increases income inequality and provides major tax cuts to the wealthy, while doing little for the poorest Americans.

Nuns on the Bus, which began touring the country in 2012 and has completed five trips since then, took a break from travelling to work with lawmakers in Washington after Mr Trump's election.

"It became clear that we had so much work to do, from trying to protect health care, to fighting the awful immigration policy and the tax bill," Sister Campbell said. "Part of the challenge was that we tried to have relationships with White House staff, but things have changed so quickly and people have left from office so it’s very hard."

While on the road, the sisters will meet with voters who have been adversely impacted by the federal tax cuts, bringing them along the journey to speak at town halls hosted by Republican members of Congress. The group will also speak with social service agencies that have been handed federal budget cuts under the Trump administration.

Part of that effort ties back to one of the group’s overall missions for embarking on the trip listed on its website, which is to "focus electoral energy on reasonable revenue for responsible programs".

A number of Mr Trump’s closest allies and their hometowns are included in the Nuns on the Bus’ tour stops, from Claudia Tenney in New York to Martha McSally in Arizona.

The Nuns on the Bus are also singling out candidates in Iowa, Illinois and Michigan, including Rod Blum, Peter Roskam and David Trot, among a slew of other Republicans who supported last year’s tax cuts.

By the end of the trip, the group will host a "Fiesta for the Common Good" just outside of Mar-a-Lago. It remains unclear whether the president will be in the area for the event, but Nuns on the Bus said they hope he will witness at least one of their demonstrations. Should he be available, Sister Campbell expressed a willingness and desire to meet with Mr Trump and discuss the issues her group is advocating for.

The Nuns on the Bus has proven to be an influential group over the years, albeit somewhat controversial.

In 2012 — the same year Sister Campbell spoke at the Democratic National Convention — the Vatican released a report warning against a wave of “radical feminism” influencing American nuns, HuffPost reported. The group was singled out in the report after it announced its support for the Affordable Care Act, despite the bill supporting abortion access, which is rejected by the Catholic Church.

For the Catholic advocacy group, grappling with the fact that Mr Trump's base is largely conservative and deeply religious has been difficult.

"I find it kind of shocking," Sister Campbell said, describing her reaction to support for the president among Catholic voters. "The impact of this tax bill will undermine projects for better roads, good education, food for the hungry, help for the poor".

"There is a strain of fear that’s rampant in our nation, especially among white folks, who fear they are totally alone," she continued. "We want to let people know that we’re in this together and we’ll work on this together as a community."

Default re: TRUMP-US Debt Up by $2 Trillion Since He Took Office + Secrets & Spies

US National Debt Has Increased $2 Trillion Since Donald Trump Took Office, New Data Shows

President reportedly not concerned because 'I won't be there'

Independent UK, 4 JAN 2019

The US national debt has increased by more than $2 trillion dollars since Donald Trump entered the White House, according to new data.

Figures released by the Treasury Department showed the debt stood at $21.974 trillion at the end of 2018, more than $2 trillion higher than when Mr Trump took office.

CNN said the debt stood represented 78 per cent of the US’s gross domestic product in the fiscal year 2018, the highest percentage since 1950. The deficit, which measures the difference between what the government spends and what it collects, rose to 3.8 per cent of GDP in 2018, up from 3.5 per cent in 2017.

The national debt has been rising in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, when Congress and Barack Obama approved stimulus funding in order to keep the economy afloat, the network said. When Mr Trump first took office, having vowed to reduce it to zero in eight years it, it began to go down.

But analysts say it started to increase again as a result of a Republican tax cut, passed at the end of 2017, that a represented the largest of its kind in a generation.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, debt could grow to 96 per cent of GDP (or $29 trillion) by 2028.

“Three decades from now, for instance, debt held by the public is projected to be about twice as high in relation to GDP as it is this year—which would be a higher ratio than the United States has ever recorded,” it said in a new report.

“Such high and rising debt would have serious consequences, both for the economy and for the federal budget. Federal spending on interest payments would rise substantially as a result of increases in interest rates, such as those projected to occur over the next few years.”

When he was campaigning for the White House, Mr said he believed he could made the US debt free within eight years. “I think I could do it fairly quickly,” he told the Washington Post.

To address the debt, Mr Trump in October announced an initiative to cut spending by five per cent across the various departments of his cabinet.

However, last year the Daily Beast reported the president had privately expressed little concern about the numbers because “I won’t be here”.

Nothing new as far as our Presidents go as they love to spend money we ain't got.
On October 1st, 2001, the first day of Bush’s 1st Budget, our debt was $5.8 Trillion Dollars. On September 30th, 2009 the last day of Bush’s Last Budget, our debt was $11.65 Trillion, meaning that Bush added $5.85 Trillion or slightly more than DOUBLING our Debt.
On October 1st, 2009, the first day of Obama’s 1st Budget, our debt was $11.65 Trillion Dollars. And on September 30th, 2017 the last day of Obama’s Last Budget, our debt was $20 Trillion, meaning that Obama added $8.35 Trillion or in other words, he increased our debt by 71.67%
So Trump is just getting started......

That and take his tweeter away from him. It's like a babies pacifier..... Hey I'll have to admit I'm for our President. He was voted in so I'll support him. I may not like all that he does, just as I didn't like all that Obama did, so I'll just pray much for our leaders and hope they are led away from the evils of this world for they are many.

oh i can't stand him and i don't feel sorry for him at all.. i read recently that pointless shutdown cost us 11 billion bucks and that's even more than his pointless wall costs. and that the reason he had it at all was that was him throwing a temper tantrum on not getting it cause hes' so used to getting everything he wants and has always gotten what he wants since the day he was born.

so for him to not get it he has to make all of us suffer and he doesn't give a damn about it either. how anyone can like this shmuck? i wish i knew? Billy Connelly Said it best look it up on you tube from like a year ago i think? where he said how come his popularity isn't at Zero? and he got a ton of applause for that too.

honestly it's a pretty damn good question if i may say so

Hot Re: TRUMP-Jared Kushner MORE Dangerous Than Him >Mueller Inquiry

Jared Kushner > MORE Dangerous Than TRUMP

Kushner has been caught up in investigations by the Mueller Inquiry and Congress. He already has lawsuits pending against him

Channel 4 News UK. 19 Mar 2019

They were once considered a moderating influence on Donald Trump's Presidency.

A new book, though, portrays Mr Trump's daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka and Jared Kushner, as a power-hungry couple, concerned primarily with enriching themselves.

The White House has dismissed it as "fiction".

But there are long-standing concerns in the US over Mr Kushner's business dealings and the level of influence he has over foreign policy & business dealings.

Oh Crap! TRUMP's WAR With Iran STOPPED >When BOMBS Were in The Air

Donald Trump 'Cancelled Iran Strikes with Planes in The Air'

Military operation was called off, New York Times reports, as Democrats warn the US/Trump could ‘bumble into a war’ with Iran

  • Trump tweeted that the U.S. military were within 10 minutes of hitting three targets in Iran when he called off airstrikes
  • He said that he was told there would be 150 deaths which he said was not proportionate to the loss of the $180 million U.S. Navy spy drone
  • Iran said that Trump asked for talks with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
  • It also said it could have downed a Navy Poseidon P-8 spy plane flying with the drone and claimed it would have killed 35 Americans, but chose not to
  • White House confirmed that Trump overruled 'unanimous' advisors including Mike Pompeo and John Bolton when he called off strikes
  • It was denounced as an 'unprovoked attack' in international air space by the US
  • Iran and the U.S. are at odds over whether the drone was in international or Iranian air space when it was downed by surface-to-air missile
  • Price of oil went up Friday over the growing tensions despite Trump refusing to attack; he also said sanctions were being imposed on Iran
  • United Airlines, Qantas, British Airways, Air France and KLM have changed flight routes in the Gulf

The Guardian UK, 21 JUNE 2019.

Donald Trump reportedly gave initial approval for the US military to launch strikes on Iran in retaliation for Tehran shooting down an American drone, before pulling back at the last minute.

Planes were in the air and ships were in position, but no missiles had been fired when word came to stand down on Thursday night, the New York Times quoted an unnamed official as saying.

US military and diplomatic officials were expecting strikes on a handful of radar and missile sites after the president’s top national security officials and congressional leaders gathered at the White House, the paper said. The military operation was called off around 7.30pm ET (12.30am BST).

The UK was informed of the US plan for the attack and not told the reprisal raids were off until 3am UK time (10pm ET).

It was not clear whether strikes would go ahead at a later date. The White House and Pentagon have not commented on the reports.

On Friday Reuters reported that Trump had passed a message to Tehran via Oman warning an attack on Iran was imminent.

“In his message, Trump said he was against any war with Iran and wanted to talk to Tehran about various issues,” an anonymous Iranian official told the news agency. “He gave a short period of time to get our response but Iran’s immediate response was that it is up to Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei to decide about this issue.”

A second Iranian official said: “We made it clear that the leader is against any talks, but the message will be conveyed to him to make a decision ... However, we told the Omani official that any attack against Iran will have regional and international consequences.”

Oman – along with Japan, Iraq and to a lesser extent Switzerland – has acted as an intermediary for messages between Trump and the Iranian leadership.

Khamenei has repeatedly said he will not talk to the US until it lifts economic sanctions, adding he does not trust Trump’s motives.

The reported contact with Oman suggests that the White House might have been involved in brinkmanship with Tehran, but pulled back when Iran did not flinch.

US officials said that Trump was known to want talks, but was also a believer in sending mixed messages to keep his adversaries guessing about his next move.

He is surrounded by some officials – notably the national security adviser, John Bolton – who are thought to favour an attack.

Timeline

The Democratic House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, who had attended a classified White House briefing with other congressional leaders on Thursday, had said the administration should “do everything in our power to de-escalate”, while the Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer, said he worried the administration “may bumble into a war”.

He said he told the president there must be a “robust, open debate” and Congress should have a real say. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House intelligence committee, said: “The president certainly listened to what we had to say.”

One of the targets of the planned strikes was the S-125 Neva/Pechora surface-to-air missile system, Newsweek quoted a Pentagon official as saying. It reported that the US believed the system was behind the US drone attack, although Tehran said it had used its “3rd Khordad” air defence system, the Iranian equivalent of the Russian Buk system that downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine in 2014.

The strikes were seemingly set for early in the day to minimise risk to the Iranian military or to civilians.

Trump had earlier appeared keen to calm tensions following the shooting down early on Thursday of the US Global Hawk drone, saying blame might be on a “loose and stupid” Iranian officer acting without authorisation from Tehran.

Many observers fear there is an absence of ways out if warfare was to break out.

Trump’s allies claimed he was intent on listening to all sides of the argument, but his instinct, relayed to the UK, had been to use economic pressure to force the Iranians to the bargaining table, and not to press for regime change.

“We didn’t have a man or woman in the drone. It would have made a big, big difference,” Trump said. Asked how the US would respond, he said: “You’ll find out.”

The downing on Thursday of the unarmed aircraft was the latest of a series of incidents that have raised tensions in the Gulf region. Earlier, a total of six oil tankers were damaged in two separate attacks.

According to a US official who spoke to the Associated Press, the strikes were recommended by the Pentagon and were among the options presented to senior administration officials.

The report of the swift reversal on US retaliation came as the US Federal Aviation Administration banned all US airlines and aircraft from flying in Iranian airspace close to where the US drone was shot down due to “heightened military activities” in the region.

There have been reports of an increase in Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps activity in the strait of Hormuz, increasing the chances of attacks on oil tankers operated by America or its Gulf allies if the US did mount an attack.

The FAA issued an emergency order saying all flight operations over water in the Tehran flight information region of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman were prohibited until further notice because military activities and political tensions “present an inadvertent risk to US civil aviation operations and potential for miscalculation or mis-identification”.

The order applies to US aircraft only but since the MH17 disaster all countries rely on airspace risk advice from the US, UK, France and Germany.

On Thursday, Iran’s foreign minister and the US military offered competing graphics showing the drone’s flight path and where it was brought down.

Javad Zarif said Iran had recovered parts of the drone in its waters and that it had originally taken off from the United Arab Emirates.

A map issued by US Central Command suggested the drone was brought down in international waters in the strait of Hormuz.

This grainy black and white footage shows the drone as it plummets from the sky

The purported wreckage of the American drone is seen displayed by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in Tehran

Debris from the wrecked drone was pictured by Iranian media as Trump asked for talks with the Supreme leader

Flight tracking data showed commercial aircraft flying close to the Global Hawk drone at the time it was shot down, said OPS Group, which provides safety guidance to air operators.

“The threat of a civil aircraft shootdown in southern Iran is real,” it advised operators on Thursday. “Avoiding the strait of Hormuz area is recommended – misidentification of aircraft is possible.”

Last month, the FAA advised airlines to exercise caution in flying over Iran and nearby areas, due to heightened military activities and increased political tension.

It said: “Although Iran likely has no intention to target civil aircraft, the presence of multiple long-range, advanced anti-aircraft capable weapons in a tense environment poses a possible risk of miscalculation or misidentification, especially during periods of heightened political tension and rhetoric.”

On Friday Sardar Amir Ali Hajizadeh, a commander in Iran’s air force, claimed: “We could have targetted a US-35 P-8 American plane … But we did not do this because our goal was to bring the US drone down and to warn off the terrorist forces of the US regime.” There was no independent verification for his claim.

Big Grin re: Revenge on TRUMP > FAKE Presidential Seal

Ivanka Trump Gets 'Death Stare' From World Leader as She Tries to Join G20 Chat

President Donald Trump's daughter's attempt to join a conversation with Theresa May and Emmanuel Macron backfired

Daily Mirror UK, 1 July 2019.

Donald Trump has let his daughter stand in for him at international events around the world.

But at the G20 summit, international critics who accuse the US President of nepotism took unbridled glee in watching Ivanka Trump falter in the presence of powerful world leaders.

America's 'first daughter,' was caught on camera attempting to join a conversation with UK Prime Minister Theresa May , French president Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.

The clip released by the French Government captured the whole exchange.

But no words were required from International Monetary Fund director Christine Lagarde, whose facial reactions to Trump's attempt at international diplomacy instead went viral.

IMF chief Christine Lagarde frowns as Ivanka Trump in her pink party frock interjects (Image: elysee/Instagram) (
She looks like a Barbie Doll)

In the 19 seconds of footage from the G20 summit in Osaka released by the Elysée Palace, Macron can be heard finishing a sentence about "social justice".

Trump interjects with either "it's on," or "it's all."

.....

May replies to Macron: "As soon as you start talking about the economic aspect a lot of people start listening who wouldn't otherwise listen."

"Start listening," echoes Trump.

"And same with the defence side, I think, in terms of the whole sort of..." she offers, gesturing with her hands before trailing off.

..........

.

.. then shoots her a less than friendly look (Image: Instagram)

Trump finishes, smiling and nodding: "Being very male-dominated." .....

As Trump speaks, Lagarde can be seen frowning and glancing at Trudeau.

The clip of the exchange attracted a widespread reaction.

High profile New York congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez led criticism of Trump's presence at the summit, highlighting that the president's daughter had no reason to be at the important event.

American investigative journalist Olga Lautman tweeted a copy of the video, labelling it "humiliating" for the US.

Ivanka Trump was attending the summit with her husband and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, who the president appointed as his special senior adviser in what has become a trend of the President furnishing his close family members with top White House roles.

Investigative journalist Olga Lautman labelled Ivanka's presence at the event 'humiliating'.

That criticism continued as the couple then joined the President in South Korea.

Ivanka Trump accompanied her father today on his historic crossing through the peninsula's Demilitarised Zone and into North Korea, where he became the first sitting President to enter the territory.

He held ad hoc talks with Kim Jong-un, who accepted the President's offer in a tweet that he would be prepared to meet the hermit state's leader on his soil to "shake his hand and say Hello".

The couple then joined the president in what would have been a tête-à-tête with Kim - adding fuel to accusations the Trumps are establishing a dynastic approach to international relations.

The president's daughter tweeted that it was "an honour" to be a member of the US delegation at the G20 summit, and later told media stepping onto North Korean soil was "surreal."

Quote:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification.

It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on.

The US needs a President working the G20.

Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.

'A Narcissistic Travesty': Critics Savage Trump's Independence Day Jamboree

More than $2.5m has reportedly been diverted to pay for Trump’s military parade featuring jets, tanks – and at the centre, himself

The Guardian UK, 3 JULY 2019.

Donald Trump here could be said to look like a middle-schooler when he cant get his own way.. And sulks when he doesn't get it... Carlos Barria/Reuters

When Donald Trump holds an Independence Day celebration with fireworks, flyovers and battle tanks at the heart of American democracy on the Fourth of July, critics fear that he will be unable to resist turning it into a vainglorious and politically divisive campaign rally.

They are also demanding that the US president foots the bill for any damage caused to Washington’s roads, bridges and monuments by his “authoritarian-style” display of military pomp.

The US president will deliver an Independence Day speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial, which honours the president who won the civil war and helped end slavery and was the site of civil rights leader Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech a century later.

The Rev William Barber, co-chair of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, tweeted: “Trump is creating a spectacle of tanks & missiles on the National Mall where the great protests for civil & human rights have been held at a time when 140 million Americans are poor & low income. He thinks this is the sign of strength, but it’s a damn narcissistic travesty.”

Trump was in exuberant mood about the event on social media on Wednesday.

“It will be the show of a lifetime!” he tweeted.

The event takes place in a politically hostile environment: Hillary Clinton took more than 90% of the vote in the District of Columbia in the 2016 election, whereas Trump secured just 4.1%. The Trump International Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue is one of the few outposts in the capital where his supporters are conspicuous.

And for decades, presidents have kept a low profile during Washington’s annual celebration of the 1776 Declaration of Independence, as typically hundreds of thousands of people gather at the National Mall for a nonpartisan concert and fireworks.

But ever the disrupter, Trump its putting himself centre stage this year. He tweeted on Tuesday: “Big 4th of July in D.C. ‘Salute to America.’ The Pentagon & our great Military Leaders are thrilled to be doing this & showing to the American people, among other things, the strongest and most advanced Military anywhere in the World. Incredible Flyovers & biggest ever Fireworks!”

The National Park Service is reportedly diverting nearly $2.5m in entrance and other fees, which are usually used to improve parks, to cover the cost, according to The Washington Post.

The celebration will feature military bands and flyovers from the US navy’s Blue Angels and Air Force One, the modified Boeing 747 that transports presidents, as well as M1 Abrams battle tanks. It could also include a B-2 bomber, F-35 and F-22 fighter jets and the Marine One helicopter, according to the Pentagon. Air traffic at nearby Ronald Reagan national airport will be suspended during the flypasts and the fireworks.

The fireworks display will be held near the Lincoln Memorial instead of its usual location by the Washington Monument. A ticket-only area in front of the memorial is being set aside for VIPs, including members of Trump’s family, friends and members of the military.

Tanks in Washington Ahead of Trump's Fourth of July pageant

M1 Abrams tanks and other armoured vehicles sit atop flat cars in a rail yard after U.S. President Donald Trump said tanks and other military hardware would be part of Fourth of July displays of military prowess in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

The display of military muscle is seen by some as a show not of strength but of weakness. In response to a photo of tanks on train tracks heading to the event, Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Russia, posted on Twitter:

“This photo reminds me of parades I used to attend in the Soviet Union. Not the right look for the 4th.”

The White House has not said how much the celebration will cost. The Pentagon postponed a military parade planned for last November after it estimated it could cost $90m. Tom Udall, a Democratic senator, said: “The American people deserve to know how much of their money the president is spending to turn their July 4th celebration into a de facto campaign rally.”

In addition, the District of Columbia council has warned of the damage that tanks could do to city streets. It tweeted on Monday: “We have said it before, and we’ll say it again: Tanks, but no tanks.”

The Democratic congressman Don Beyer, who represents nearby suburbs in Virginia, wrote on Twitter: “The authoritarian-style trappings he demands, including tanks, will come at a great cost to taxpayers, and threaten significant harm to local roads and bridges. I am deeply concerned by the suggestion that the President’s insistence on displaying tanks could subject Arlington Memorial Bridge to strains grossly exceeding its weight restrictions.”

Beyer added: “If Trump is going to turn this event into another partisan rally to boost his own frail ego, he must reimburse US taxpayers for any damage he causes.”

Trump will deliver his speech as the 19ft-high marble statue of Lincoln, whose clarion call “to bind up the nation’s wounds” is carved into the memorial, looks on. He previously spoke there, amid chants of “Make America great again”, at a pre-inauguration concert in January 2017.

White House officials insist that he will avoid partisan politics and stick to patriotic themes in his speech, but opponents fear he will use the elevated, taxpayer-funded platform to lambast Democrats ahead of next year’s presidential election. Spokeswoman Hogan Gidley told Fox Business Network on Tuesday: “That’s absolutely ridiculous. This is all about a salute to America. The president is not going to get political.”

Movies re: TRUMP > Insiders Damning Allegations About His Mental Stability

We Know Who Put That Fake Presidential Seal Behind Trump > He Was Fired.

The person responsible for using a fake presidential seal that roasted President Trump’s love of Russia, golf and cold hard cash, has been found out and fired.

Vice News, 26 July 2019

Conservative student group Turning Point USA says it was one of their own staffers who placed the doctored seal behind the president during his visit to the Teen Student Action Summit in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, according to the Washington Post.

“It was nothing malicious,” the spokesperson told the Post. “Just an accident.”

The staffer was let go regardless of the intention behind the gaffe.

During the president’s 83-minute visit to the gathering of young conservatives at the D.C. Marriott Marquis Tuesday morning, sharp-eyed observers at the Washington Post noticed an unusual piece of set design: a modified presidential seal displayed to the president’s right.

Instead of the bald eagle holding a bundle of 13 arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, the altered symbol behind Trump had two heads, resembling the double-headed bird featured on the Russian coat of arms; a wad of cash in one hand; and golf clubs in the other.

The eagle’s banner appeared altered as well. While the real deal features a scroll in the eagle’s mouth that bears the U.S. motto “E Pluribus Unum” (Latin for “Out of many, one”), the doctored seal featured the phrase “45 es un titere,” Spanish for “45 is a puppet”.

Whitehouse Insiders Reveal Damning Allegations Against Donald Trump | 60 Minutes Australia

60 Minutes Australia. Published on 1 Sep 2019

No one in Washington DC works harder than the person in charge of the red carpet, and whoever it is will be extra busy when the Australian Prime Minister arrives in the next few weeks to have his back slapped by President Donald Trump.

The White House has already signalled it’s setting the pomp and ceremony switch to extreme because the US-Australia relationship is so vital.

But there could be problems.

Two former high-profile Trump aides, Omarosa Manigault Newman and Anthony Scaramucci, have turned on the President and are now revealing damaging details about the inner workings of the White House.

And as Karl Stefanovic reports, one of the most embarrassing claims is that the supposed “unbreakable” alliance between our two countries, > far from being Trumped..... was almost dumped.

United States of America re: TRUMP Impeachment > Investigations Begin

Donald Trump Warns US is 'Locked and Loaded' After Drone Attacks in Saudi Arabia

The US President issued a chilling warning after Iran was blamed for attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia

Daily Mirror UK, 16 Sep 2019.

US President Donald Trump says his country is 'locked and loaded' after the suspected Iranian attacks on Saudi oil plants.

Iran has denied it is behind the drone strikes, with Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen instead claiming responsiblity.

However, America has now released satellite images it says prove Iran was responsible for the raids, which has more than halved Saudi Arabia's oil output.

The pictures show how the attacks could only have been carried out from the direction of Iran or Iraq and not Yemen, the US claims.

They have been published amid rising tensions between Iran and the US, with an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Commander warning that his nation is prepared for a 'fully-fledged war'.

He also threatened US bases, saying that they were within range of Iranian missiles.

Trump has announced that he will await Saudi Arabia's conclusions on the source of the attack before acting.

He tweeted: "Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed."

The attack "was a wanton violation of international law," British Foreign Secretary said, adding that the United Kingdom stood firmly behind Saudi Arabia.

"In terms of who is responsible, the picture is not entirely clear," Raab said. "I want to have a very clear picture which we will be having shortly.

"This was a very serious attack on Saudi Arabia and the oil installations and it has implications for global oil markets and supply," Raab said.

"It's a very serious, an outrageous act, and we need to have a clear and as united as possible international response to it."

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for the strikes in Abqaiq, the site of largest oil processing plant.

The plant is owned by Saudi Arabia's state-owned Aramco oil company.
