PhOtOs-CIA Launch Official Twitter Account
'We Can Neither Confirm nor Deny That This is our First Tweet':
-The CIA Shows Their Secret Funny Side as they Launch an Official Twitter Account By Daily Mail UK, 8 June 2014 The CIA has launched their official Twitter account and shown that the nation's clandestine service has been hiding a sense of humor. 'We can neither confirm nor deny that this is our first tweet,' the first post from the account read on Friday afternoon. Even if they were hesitant to reveal their identity, Twitter did it for them by verifying their account as soon as it went live at 2pm. Making it official: The CIA launched their Twitter account on Friday as part of a government-wide effort to be more transparent The infamously secretive organization let hundreds of thousands into the fold at an astonishing rate. About 30 minutes after the account went live, they had 26,900 followers; that number doubled in the next 10 minutes and it continued to rise ever since. This is just the latest attempt by the federal government to improve transparency within the nation's intelligence programs... Their practices came under severe scrutiny last summer when consultant Edward Snowden leaked thousands of documents proving that the NSA was running a massive phone and email surveillance program. Order: President Obama, seen leaving Normandy after D-Day memorial ceremonies today, said last year that the intelligence community would work towards becoming more transparent The White House approved the launch of a Tumblr called IC (Intelligence Community) On The Record last August as the first step in winning back some public support. That site, and the associated Twitter account, has been used to release documents and statements pertaining to news matters when they occur. Most recently, the NSA used IC On The Record to release the only email they claim to have from Edward Snowden, which theoretically contradicts a claim he made in a televised interview. The CIA's playful approach won it far more fans, however, as IC On The Record still only has less than 4,000 followers. .

Re: PhOtOs-CIA Launch Official Twitter Account
oooh k. i understand why the CIA has to be secreative and sorry for my bad spelling.
they go after some pretty bad people and don't want their identity known. but why make a twitter account? if they want to keep their stuff secret than why even bother making a twitter account. as far as i know i don't know anyone who's in it. but than if i did i doubt they'd be able to tell me anyways. and people signed up with them? i don't hate the CIA like some people in the world do. but it's a WTF situation. |
