iinet wins court case!!!

On Friday, the High Court ruled that iiNet had not authorised the copyright infringement of its users through BitTorrent, because iiNet's power to stop its customers' infringement was limited to being able to switch off the internet access entirely. As such, iiNet's decision not to act on infringement notices provided by the film studios' lobby group Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft (AFACT) did not amount to authorising the customers' infringement.

Re: iinet wins court case!!!

Nice ruling for iNet. INet was purposely picked to bully by the copywrong forces. They figured iNet was big enough to attract attention and small enough it wouldn't put up much of a fight. It is my understanding that this bullying led to the Aussies supporting iNet as it was seen as the little scrapper fighting the big monster.

This is good news and bad news. The way the copywrong groups work, is first they try to get a court ruling. If that backfires as it did here, then they go try to get the law changed, which is what they are doing now.
