Are you ready for some fun to finish your work week with? Then get ready to detonate that boredom! In this week’s game your mission is to move level to level and blow up the evil things you encounter while not harming the good ones.

Blow Things Up! 2

The object of the game is to blow up the evil things you encounter on each level while not harming the good ones.

There are thirty levels of explosive goodness waiting for you.

The first level serves as a training level to help you become familiar with the game mechanics. You can disable the sound, set off the explosives using the detonator, and see the remaining bombs available to use in the lower left corner.
Note: You can use the Space Bar to detonate the explosives if preferred.

Use your mouse to place the bombs where desired and left click to set them in place.

Detonate your explosives to see if your bomb pattern can successfully dislodge the evil things from their perches or not. If your pattern does not work you can continue to place bombs until you run out or reset the level if needed.

If you manage to meet the challenge goal for each level (limited number of bombs that can be used), you receive a trophy for that level.

The second level starts to make things a bit more interesting. As you can see (lower toolbar area) the maximum number of bombs that can be used and still win a trophy is two. We decided to go with three here to clear all the evil things out in one round.

Kaboom!

No trophy but we still received a star and continued to unlock higher levels.

As you progress through the game you will continue to encounter new types of evil things. The pink ones really bounce and the best approach on level three is to place your bomb as quickly as possible and detonate it while the pink thing is still bouncing.
Note: As seen here you can place the bombs in mid-air if needed.

Up and over! Going down…

Nothing quite like another trophy for the collection.

Starting on level four you will find your first friendly things. You will need to be careful and not knock them off their perches or you lose on that level. If you do you can always start the level over again.

Here is a glimpse at level twenty-three where you have heavy, fire, and balloon things to contend with. Good luck and have fun!

After a long week at work why not take a few minutes to relax and have some fun? In this week’s game your mission is to help a wee lad named Simon defend the treasure he found at the beach from the evil pirates who want to steal it.

Raft Wars

The object of the game is to help young Simon and his brother defeat the evil pirates who are determined to steal the gold and diamond treasure found on the beach.

The game comes with a short story detailing how young Simon found his gold and diamond treasure at the beach. Unfortunately for Simon his newfound fame has brought some unwanted attention…
Note: The storyline only takes a few moments to play out but you can skip it if desired.

When each level begins you will see the pirates’ side of the “battlefield” and a Par Goal for that level. Left click the mouse to start the level.

Once you click with the mouse the screen will shift to Simon’s side of the “battlefield”. The game provides a quick visual tutorial (no interaction required) on how to aim and shoot. Use your mouse to adjust the angle of your cannon (up and down), the power level of the shot (right and left movement), and left click when ready to fire.

When the tutorial is finished you will see your ammo types/count in the upper left corner and be able to monitor the health levels/number of people left on each side of the battle at the bottom.
Note: Part of the fun with this game is watching what Simon does at times during the battles!

Direct hit! Goodbye Mister Pirate!

The game is turn-based, so once you have fired your shot the pirates will take their turn to fire at you.

Time to get that last pirate…

Victory! Once you have won a battle you will be presented with your stats and score at the bottom of the screen. Click to move to the next screen…

With the credits you earn in battle you can choose to buy more powerful weapons and/or upgrade your raft. You will see a preview of the upcoming battles in the lower right corner. Click Done to begin the next level.

BLOCK PUZZLE

After surviving another long week Friday has finally arrived, so while you are waiting out those last few hours why not sneak in a bit of fun? In this week’s game you must work your way through a series of rooms with block puzzles in order to escape to freedom.

Block Puzzle? Block Puzzle!

The object of the game is to solve the block puzzles for each of the twenty rooms you must travel through. Things start out simple enough but will you be ready for when the going gets tough?

Here is the first (and most simple) room in the game. It serves as a quickie training exercise of sorts to get you familiar with moving around in the game.

Note: There will be messages at the top of each level to help you with playing the game.

Ready to travel to the next room… As soon as you reach the exit you will be automatically transported to the next room.
Note: The waterfalls do not affect your movement through a room.

When you reach the second room you will encounter the first of the block puzzles. You will need to push the block on top of the pressure plate outlined in red below. Once you have done that the exit will activate and allow you to move onto the next room. To push a block simply use the arrow key to move in the desired direction.

Exit activated…

Leaving, leaving, leaving.

Room three starts your encounters with multiple blocks in order to activate the exit.

Success!

The further you go into the game, the more “evil” and complex it becomes to solve the block puzzles and activate the exits. Have fun and good luck!

Snail Bob 2

In this week’s game your job is to help Snail Bob travel safely through a dangerous forest and reach his Grandpa’s house in one piece.

Snail Bob 2

The object of the game is to help Snail Bob avoid the dangers he will encounter during each part of his journey so that he can deliver a birthday present to his Grandpa. You will need to think your way through the traps that await and when necessary move quickly!

There is a short intro that provides the background story for the game.

There are twenty-five levels of danger solving goodness waiting for you as you help Snail Bob complete his journey.

The first level starts out simply enough and lets you get a feel for how the game works. Notice the dotted lines surrounding two of the items…these will be used to help Snail Bob get through the level.

The first thing you will need to do is move the steel trap underneath the ledge using the lever.

Once the steel trap is safely tucked away it is time to do a little bit of flying. Press the red button to send Snail Bob on his way…

Up, up, and away!

Once Snail Bob reaches a certain height he will drop down onto the ledge, then over to travel through the exit.

When Snail Bob safely reaches the exit you will see your score for the level, be able to return to the main map, or move directly onto the next level.

Oh no! It looks like someone wants Snail Bob for dinner… Have fun and good luck!

Glorious weekend is here once again, so why not take a break and have a quick bit of fun? In this week’s game your mission is to help a hungry kitten successfully travel through strange and dangerous lands to reach the milk treasure shown on his map.

The Milk Quest

The object of the game is to solve the movement puzzles on each level and help the kitten reach the milk shown on his treasure map. Are you ready to help him complete his quest?

The background story for the game shows a kitten who goes to the kitchen to get some milk, but unfortunately there is none left for him to eat. So he must embark on a quest to find some using his new treasure map. You can easily skip the story and move on to the game if desired…

Here is the first level of the quest…you will need to help the kitten safely reach the ground.

Clicking on the chair will move it close enough to the table to serve as step down from the table. Click on the Arrow on the left side to make the kitten move and progress on to the next level.
Note: To interact with all items and the kitten click on them.

The second level sees the kitten returning to the kitchen but this time there is a wall blocking his way. Click on the pair of pliers to make them drop down and dislodge the nail holding the wall brace.

Collapse the brace and knock down the wall to create a bridge back up to the counter-top. Click on the Arrow to make the kitten move forward again.

We will give you the first hint for this level…click on the spider. As you continue to progress through the upper levels the items and the sequence they are used in will become more complicated, so you may need to experiment around a little bit. Good luck and have fun!

ROME PUZZLE

The weekend is almost here, but until you can leave for home why not relax a bit and take the edge off your work day? In this week’s game you have a chance for greatness and the opportunity to visit Olympus as you work to build a new city in the bygone era of ancient Rome.

Rome Puzzle

The object of the game is to start with a wilderness area and build a new city piece by piece. If you work hard enough you can also earn the right to visit Olympus, the home of the Roman gods. Are you up to the challenge in this quest for greatness?
Note: Clicking on the Help Button will provide information regarding game items, bonuses that can be won during the game, some background, and more.

Pressing the Play Button will immediately take you to the first level. You can monitor your score, supplies earned, and more using the bar at the top of the window. In the lower right corner is the timer (the water level in the jar). To play the game line up three or more matching items in a row (horizontally or vertically) by clicking on and switching tiles around. That will clear those squares allowing more items to slide into the puzzle board.
There are three areas of specific interest on the first level…the squares that have a blue background will need to be cleared. Try to include them in a matching set so that they will turn to the same light brown color as the rest of the puzzle board. Once all of the blue squares are cleared the level will be completed.

Two gone and one to go…

When you complete a level you will be presented with the stats for time, money/items earned, and a time bonus if you finished quickly enough.

After reviewing your stats you can start on building your new city. At the bottom of the window you will see the buildings that you can afford to purchase. These four buildings comprise the first group of levels in the game.

Hovering your mouse over the Buy Button will show details about that particular structure. Click on the button to purchase the building.

Once a building has been purchased it will be placed in an appropriate location on your map and the Buy Button will change to Bought.

Level two adds building supplies to the puzzle board. There is also an increase in the number of blue squares that will need to be cleared.

You will receive an in-level bonus the first time that you clear a five item section after purchasing the Sawmill.

Depending on the time you have left on a level, you may want to play a bit longer in order to earn more gold, supplies, etc while balancing out the time bonus.

Having that Forge would definitely be useful!

As with the Sawmill, your new Forge will be automatically placed on the map for you once it has been purchased.
Note: The more expensive buildings may take more than one round/level of game play to pay for depending on how much gold and supplies you earn.

Time to get back to work!

As you complete each group of levels your public status will change and improve. You may start out small, but you can build your path to greatness!

ROME PUZZLE

Why not take a few minutes to kick back and relax while waiting for your work week to end? In this week’s game your goal is to safely move a trio of orbs from one side of game levels to the other, but it is not as easy as it sounds. Are you up to the challenge of solving the patterns to successfully navigate through the different levels and achieve ultimate victory?

Impasse

The object of the game is simple. Move your trio of orbs all the way to the right side of the level without moving over/connecting with the colored orbs you encounter along the way. What starts off as easy will quickly become more complicated, so be ready to think your way through! To move your trio of orbs all you need to do is use the four Arrow Keys for right, left, up, and down (all three orbs will move in tandem).
Note: You can see which level you are on using the indicator bar in the bottom half of the screen.

Getting closer…

When you successfully reach the right side of the level line up your trio of orbs with the green ones and use the Right Arrow Key to move over/connect with them. As soon as the connection occurs you will be automatically moved to the next level.

Note: The level will be started over if you happen to accidentally move over/connect with orbs while moving across the level.

Level Two steps things up a bit with more grey orbs to work your way around

Moving right along…

Success!

Level Three will be the last of the easy levels where all of the orbs remain stationary as you make your way across the level.

Level Four introduces a new component to the mix. The orange orbs will also shift as you move your trio of orbs up or down across the level. Levels beyond the fourth will mix the regular gray and the movable orange orbs together for even more fun (or frustration depending on your point of view!).

Friday is finally here once again and it is time to have a bit of fun while waiting to go home. In this week’s game your mission is to take your awesome mining machine and work your way to prosperity and glory. Are you ready to dig in?

Mega Miner

The object of the game is to mine your way to prosperity and glory while upgrading your mining machine and earning as many of the accomplishments as possible.

You can have up to three different games saved. Choose the slot you would like to use and click on it.

You start the game in the middle of the small town and will see messages in drop-down boxes at the top of the window. Press the Space Bar when you are finished with each one.

The small town contains the following buildings (left to right): Mechanical Repairs Shop, Fuel Station, Teleport Station, Save Tower (for saving your game as your go), Buyer for Mined Goods, Upgrades Shop, and the Status Billboard (you can view your awards, etc. here).
All you need to play the game are the four Arrow Keys (up, down, left, right) and the Space Bar. You can also use the mouse at times to click on or select items while above or below ground.

Click on the left tab to view any expendable single-use items such as extra fuel, sonar pulses, etc. that you have on hand while mining below ground. Carrying extra emergency fuel once you start to mine deeper is definitely a good idea…

The tab on the right will show you a map of the area above and below ground along with your current location.

Stop in front of buildings and press the Space Bar to interact with the owners and conduct your business in town.

To get started on your mining career simply choose a spot along the surface that “feels lucky” to you and use the Down Arrow Key to start digging into the ground. As you are mining you will need to keep an eye on various monitors in the corners of the game window:

The upper left shows your depth underground.
The lower left shows the amount of cargo carrying capacity remaining and the mechanical health of your mining machine.
The lower right shows the amount of fuel you have remaining and a temperature indicator.
The upper right monitor is only useful when above ground and purchasing fuel, repairs, and upgrades.

You will notice that part of the surrounding area will become visible as you move around underground and explore. Near the surface the hidden areas are covered in black but further down they are hidden in white (the color change could be a possible game glitch).

As you are mining try to collect various materials such as coal, iron, silver, gold, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds to take back to the surface to sell. The deeper you go, the more valuable the items that you find become…

Continue mining until your cargo hold is full and/or you need to return to the surface to refuel. When you return to the surface go to the Buyer for Mined Goods and press the Space Bar to sell your mined materials. From there you can purchase fuel, repairs if needed, and upgrades. Make sure to stop by the Save Tower each time you are above ground to save your progress. Good luck and have fun!

If you’re looking for a little levity to get you through the midweek slump, Kingdom Rush is a really polished Tower Defense-style Flash game with save points, multiple stages, and great interface.

Tower Defense games are a dime a dozen; it takes a lot to stand out from the pack. Kingdom Rush has polished graphics, a great sound track, an RPG theme with multiple levels, local and online save points, multiple units/enemies/special powers, and a great built in tutorial and tips system to get you moving along quickly. It’s a good enough incarnation of the Tower Defense genre that we’d happily buy it to play on our iPad if it was available as an iOS game.

Your work week is almost over so why not indulge in a bit of picture puzzle fun while waiting for the day to finish out? In this week’s game your goal is to spot the differences between panels as you follow the adventure of a young man who meets someone special one moonlit night in the woods. Ready to see how the story turns out?

Moonlight Differences

The object of the game is to find a certain number of differences between two similar panels for each stage of the chosen level (there are three levels of difficulty available). Different levels will have lower or higher numbers of differences that must be found.
Note: It is very possible to find more differences between panels than required (i.e. finding ten differences when only eight are required).

When you first play the game you will only have access to two of the three difficulty levels available. You will need to complete the Normal Level first before you can gain access to the Hard Level.

Here is the first set of panels showing a young man in the woods at night.

The second set of panels show his unexpected discovery of a magical young woman standing on the water of a small lake.

She reaches out to him in friendship instead of suddenly disappearing.

Ready to find the next batch of differences and see how their new friendship turns out?

If you decide to try the Hard Level, then be warned ahead of time that you will work for it since it uses a whole new set of subtle differences compared to the other levels. Good luck and have fun on whichever level you choose to play!

After a long tiring week you should do something to relax and a fun game is the perfect way to do that. In this week’s game you choose your favorite flavor of ice cream and start a perilous quest to collect fruit for yourself while avoiding getting melted by enemies.

Bad Ice-Cream

The object of the game is to safely navigate each level to collect all of the fruit while avoiding being melted by your enemies.

You can choose between single and two player modes.

Next click on your favorite flavor.

There are forty levels of fruit gathering, danger avoiding fun waiting for you.

We have included the Help screenshots here so that you can get a feel for the game before-hand.

Here is what the first level looks like…as you move around the other parts of it will become visible. All that you need to play the game are the four Arrow Keys (single player mode) and the Space Bar for creating/destroying ice blocks. Move around the level collecting the fruit while avoiding the monsters. You can monitor the types and number of fruit that you will need to collect on the various levels at the bottom of the screen.
Note: You will most likely want to disable the music for the game (upper right corner).

Note: As soon as you finish collecting the first set of fruit the second set will automatically appear.

On to the grapes!

When you complete the level you will be presented with your score and the ability to go to the next level or back to the menu.

Starting with Level Two you will definitely be destroying and creating ice blocks as you go…those ice blocks can be really useful for trapping monsters while you are collecting fruit.

Bad Ice-Cream

In this week’s game you lead an army of Vikings on a crusade to conquer your enemies, grab the gold, and save your allies along the way.

Siege Hero – Viking Vengeance

The object of the game is to successfully conquer your enemies by destroying their castles and save your Viking allies along the way. Getting gold as you go makes it even better.

Here is the first level…nothing too hard to start off with. You get three missiles to fire at the two towers. The missile selection area will appear in the lower right corner and you need to click on a missile in order to use it.

Note: Ignore the Plus Sign in the upper corner since it does not add to the game itself.

Once you have clicked on a missile use your mouse to aim for the desired target area. Left click when you are ready to fire.

Going down… Once you have fired a missile you will need to wait for the selection area to recharge.

Crunch!

When you complete a level you can choose to replay the level or move on to the next one.

You will see the Level Selection Window for the first time after completing Level One.

Note: If you look closely and wait a few moments, you can have fun watching a shark swim around and see birds flying across the map/level selection area (outlined in red).

Level Two sees you making your first attack at night. So nice of those soldiers to leave the lights on for you!
We chose to target the two center stone columns on the ground level while playing.

One column gone, one to go…

Goodbye castle!

A brilliant victory and a new record score for the level.

The campaign is off to an awesome start.

Note: The Play 150+ Levels link at the bottom of the window takes you to the iTunes store.

The third level introduces the multiple-missile shot. On to glory and victory!

Note: Keep in mind that Level 17 is going to be pretty frustrating, so be prepared for it!

The best day of the workweek has finally arrived again and that means it is time for a bit of quick fun. In this week’s game your mission is to outwit and eliminate the rats that have taken over a house. Are you ready to ‘be’ the better mouse trap?

Verminator

The object of the game is to successfully eliminate the rats on each level using the limited amount of resources available. Things will start off simple enough, but the higher levels will definitely make you think!

There are thirty levels of rat eliminating goodness waiting for you.

Here is the first level. Placing cheese on the nearby flat area as bait will lure the rat off of his safe perch and into the water.

Note: The number beside the cheese (or other item) types in the upper left corner denote how much you have left to work with.

The smell of the cheese will definitely have an effect on him and the only thing on his mind will be a quick yummy meal.

One less rat in the house…

At the end of each level you will be presented with your score, rank, and be able to replay the level or move on to the next one.

The second level pretty much takes care of itself and demonstrates the negative reaction the rats will have to green cheese.

Must. Get. Away.

The third level introduces wooden boards into the equation…they will easily tip over unless cheese is carefully placed on them or if a rat does not land correctly on them.

Time for a bit of surfing rat fun!

Note: The blocks of cheese have a limited distance that their scent can travel, so choose your locations wisely.

Goodbye Mr. Rat…

The fourth level allows you to start using more than one kind of cheese in order to get rid of the rats. Levels further on will also allow you to use mini-bombs on the rats. Good luck and have fun!

Have you had a long week at work? Then take a moment to relax with a quick bit of fun. In this week’s game your mission is to set up a solid defense to stop the incoming waves of zombie hordes using the various weapon towers at your disposal.

Zombie Defense Agency

The object of the game is to stop multiple waves of zombie hordes in each combat zone by strategically using the resources available to you. Are you ready to pit your brains against the zombie brawn?

Here is the “how-to” tutorial for the game…we have included all four screens for your convenience.

On to the first combat zone! There is only one zombie entry point to defend against here so things are working in your favor. We have highlighted multiple areas in the screenshot below that you should monitor while fighting the zombies.

At the top you have Lives Remaining (the number of zombies that can get past your defenses before you lose on a particular level) and the Cash Available to purchase defense towers with (buy them in the lower left corner). Along the bottom are the Defense Tower Purchase, Upgrade/Sell, and Wave Number/Game Control areas.

You can choose the type of defense towers you want to purchase by clicking on them in the lower left corner and then left clicking in the location you want to set them up at. Once you have everything set up to your satisfaction click on the Next Button in the lower right corner to start the battle against the zombie hordes.

Note: Hovering over defense tower types will display a brief description about the type of damage they inflict.

Burn zombies burn!

Setting up an “alley of destruction” makes fighting those zombies a bit easier.

You will have the opportunity to choose an upgrade type when you do well during game play. Only one choice can be selected on the screen, so choose carefully.

Once you have successfully defeated all of the zombies in a combat zone you will be presented with your score, the choice to move on to the next combat zone, or you can go to the Level Selection Area to replay the combat zone you just completed.

Note: There are a total of fifteen combat zones for you to battle zombies in.

This is the second combat zone. You have two zombie entry points to defend against here, so choose your defense set up wisely. Good luck and have fun against the zombie hordes!

The best day of the work week is finally here, so take a few minutes to have some fun while waiting to go home. In this week’s game you set off on a campaign across ancient Mediterranean regions to acquire multiple artifacts in a quest for success.

Special Note: This flash version of the game allows you to play through three areas (Phoenicia, Babylon, and Egypt) of the overall campaign that is available in the full version. Even in its limited form it still provides a good amount of game play.

The Rise of Atlantis

The object of the game is to successfully gather the different pieces of artifacts from each level. Once you have gathered enough pieces you can reassemble each artifact and complete that part of your campaign. Watch for and gather the bonuses shown in the lower right corner whenever possible…they will be very useful later on.

Here is the campaign map. You will start off in Phoenicia where the small red flag is waving. You will also get to learn a new historical fact about each area every time you view the campaign map.

Click on two adjoining tiles to switch them or click on and drag one of the tiles to the desired adjoining square to switch them.

Note: You can monitor your remaining time on each level using the golden bar at the bottom of the window. The shorter the bar is, the less time you have left.

Here is your goal for this level…the first piece of the Bottomless Chest of Gold.

At the end of each level you will be able to view a nice set of stats detailing the longest chain of tiles matched, amount of time for the level, your score, and more.

This screen is the one drawback to the flash version of the game. It will display each time before going back to the campaign map.

Time to start the second level of the campaign…

The second level allows you access to a very useful little tool…the Sun Power-up which will help you clear portions of the game board when used.

When the Sun Power-up reaches 100% click on it to shoot multiple fireballs across the game squares. The tiles they hit will disappear and open up those squares for tile movement/progress.

The reward for successfully completing the Phoenician part of the campaign!

Next stop Babylon!

When you begin the Babylonian portion of the campaign expect to see new challenges on the game board such as locked tiles and more. Good luck and have fun!

After another long week at work why not relax and have some fun while waiting for Friday to finish out? In this week’s game your job is to demolish old buildings in Tokyo using explosives, demolition tools, and other assorted destructive goodness that you acquire along the way.

Rubble Trouble Tokyo

The object of the game is to successfully demolish old buildings using explosives, demolition tools, and other nice surprises you find along the way.

Each level begins with a bit of dialogue pertaining to that particular assignment…you can read through it or choose to skip it altogether.

Once the dialogue part is finished you will see the tools that you have available to work in the lower left corner. The tools will vary from level to level… You can also monitor the buildings remaining in the upper left corner.

Click on the Nitro Button, place it in the desired location, and left click to detonate it.

One building down…

Two buildings down now and ready for the last one.

At the end of each level you will see your scores (and bonus if any).

On to the second assignment and something that is a bit more fun to use!

This week’s game may be the perfect solution to help alleviate some stress. In it our poor office worker has finally had all that he can take from his boss and decides that it is time to sort the boss out.

My “Dear” Boss

You may want to disable the music for this game before starting game play since it can be somewhat irritating (upper right corner).

The quick background story shows how rough our office worker’s day has been.

Playing the game is simple. Click on the Kick Button while trying to catch the meter as close as possible to the top center for maximum kicking effect.

The boss is really letting our poor office worker have it, so it is time to sort him out. Click on the Kick Button when ready to send him flying out the window.

Up, up, and away!

Bouncing right along…once he stops moving you will be able to see him looking shocked for just a moment.

At the end of each round you will be able to see the distance you sent the boss flying, bonus score if any, and the total cash for upgrades earned. You can enter the upgrades area using the Menu Button, send the boss flying out the window again using the Right Arrow, or exit the game using the Power Button at the bottom (this will delete your progress if chosen).

In this week’s game you engage in an exciting campaign to defend the kingdom against brigands, goblins, orcs, and more in battle. Can you lead your troops to victory or will you fall before the oncoming hordes?

Kingdom Rush

You have three game slots available to use as needed or desired while playing the game.

Here is the campaign map for the kingdom…you and your men will have a lot of territory to defend.

Your first battle will be at Southport… What evil awaits you there?
Note: You can choose the difficulty level you desire using the drop-down menu.

We have included all three screens of instructions on how to play here.

Get ready for the upcoming battle by selecting defense locations you would like to set up. You can monitor your remaining lives, current monetary funds, and attack wave number in the upper left corner.

Clicking on a defense location will show you the tower options you have available for that particular location (depending on your current funds). Click on the one you want to build and watch as it is constructed in moments.

Prepared and ready for battle! Click on the Skull Button in the lower right corner of the game window to start the battle.
Note: The Skull Button at the top of the game window serves as a timer for the next wave of attacks as well as a way to speed things up if desired.

When a new enemy type appears you will see a brief description about it.

You will also receive new special powers during game play. The reinforcements one is an especially nice one to have as later attack waves appear.

To use the Reinforcements Power click on it and then click on the location where you want them to appear.

Another new enemy and definitely tougher than Goblins!

Hints about the best ways to combat enemies will also appear from time to time to help you with your defense strategy.

Helpful information for positioning your troops…

The Rain of Fire is the other special power that will become available during the battle at Southport. Your enemies will not stand a chance against this one!

In this week’s game you take control of aerial armies as the war between bees and bears elevates to the next (and final) level. Can you lead the bee armies to victory over their enemies and ensure that bee civilization, not bears, will dominate the land?

The game gives a humorous nod to the Federal Network newscasts about the attack on Buenos Aires in the original Starship Troopers movie. We have included all the screens from the Honeycomb Network newscast here for your viewing pleasure.

There are a total of fifteen battles for you to engage in over the course of the summer.

Here is the first level. To send bees in a particular direction left click and hold down while dragging your mouse in the desired direction to attack the bears.

Take that bear!! You can also see the second bear already approaching from the left, so hurry up and defeat the first one!

Once you complete a level you will receive your bonus in the form of pollen-filled flowers (appeared and disappeared too quickly for our screenshot) and see new bee types that may have been unlocked.

After you receive your bonus and any unlocked bee goodness, you will be taken to the lab where you can purchase upgrades to enhance your defenses.

Starting with the second level you will need to click on each hive in order to activate its defense army…

There will be two bee types to choose from for each hive here. Choose the one you think best for the defense of each…

In this week’s game the end of your home world is near, so you must embark on a quest to evolve beyond your own mortality and escape to a new home through the mystic gateway. Will you succeed or will you perish with your home world?

The first level serves as an intro to game play and highlights each move for you to take in order based on the number of dots above items. Starting with the second level and going forward you will need to figure out the correct sequence through a small amount of experimentation.

This week’s game puts your archery skills to the test as you race against time to save innocent captives from the hangman’s noose. Are you good enough to show Robin Hood a thing or two about using a bow or will you be shot down in shame?

Archers Oath

The game has twenty-five levels of archery skill testing fun waiting for you.

Game play is simple enough, but having a good aim and being able to save captives in time is where the challenge comes in. Use the distance and height of your mouse from the archer to adjust the strength and angle of the arrows you shoot.

The clock is ticking… You can monitor the number of arrows you have left at the top. Make sure to keep an eye on the health bar for the captives…it goes down pretty quickly at times.

Saved him with the first shot…

Your score will depend on how quickly you were able to save the captive(s) for that particular level. From there you can return to the Level Selection Area or move on to the next level.

The second level starts getting you used to shooting at higher angles to save captives. Level three and beyond will see you using new types of arrows, removing obstacles before you can save captives, using objects to help save captives, and more. Good luck and have fun!

In this week’s game your mission is to become a ‘master or mistress’ of destruction as you attempt to destroy all the dinosaur eggs on each level of the game. Are you ready to unleash madness and mayhem on dino-kind?

There are twenty-five levels of disaster inducing goodness waiting for you to indulge in.

Here is the first level where you have one earthquake available to use. This level serves as a basic tutorial of sorts to help you become familiar with game play…

You will see a visual hint on this level for placement of the earthquake.

Rumble, rumble rumble!

So much for that dinosaur egg…

At the end of each level you will see your score (based on time remaining) and can move on to the next level or replay the current one.

The second level ups the challenge a little bit with just one earthquake available to take down both structures and destroy all three dinosaur eggs.

The third level gives you two earthquakes to work with, but you have to use them in the correct order to destroy all the dinosaur eggs. As you make progress through later levels you will have access to additional disaster types to get the job done. Good luck and have fun!

The first level lets you have an easy time of it as you familiarize (or re-familiarize) yourself with the game.

But with some careful cutting it is nothing that you can not handle.

This week’s game is a bit like Space Invaders except you use typing to defend your position. Defending your position will be easy enough at first, but things will quickly become complicated! Do you have the speed and accuracy required to survive or will the enemy have the last word?

Z-Type

The game starts you off at the Play Mode Selection Screen. Make any desired adjustments to the sound/music volume, then select the mode you would like to play.

This is what the first wave looks like. There will be three words of varying short lengths with small ‘energy fighters’ attached to them. Type as quickly and accurately as you can…you will be scored on both counts.

Each time you destroy all of the words attacking your position you will see the All Clear Message, but do not drop your guard because the next wave is already on its way. The further you go the more intense it will become…

As you can see here larger words have larger ‘energy ships’ attached to them…those will definitely be trouble if they get to close to you!

The game is over if your position is over-run by words or you are pulled away from defending yourself for some reason (such as our taking screenshots). You can start over by clicking on Back to Title. Good luck and have fun!

This week’s game literally lives up to its name…forty locked doors and forty tests of your problem solving skills. Some of the solutions will be obvious, but others will test your patience to solve them. Do you have what it takes to escape forty times or will you be locked up in defeat?

40xEscape

The first level gets you started on how to think when it comes to solving the ‘puzzles’ you will encounter as you seek to unlock the door for each level.

Simply clicking the wall button multiple times will allow you to ‘light up’ the word Escape a letter at a time in neon green and unlock the door.

Once you successfully unlock the door you will be able to move on to the next level.

The second level has no wall button to use, so you need to move your mouse around until you find the interactive element(s) to work with.

Clicking the letters one at a time will help you unlock the second door.

Level three gives you a numerical puzzle to solve…

Later on you will encounter the first of the word puzzles…

On level six it is all a matter of timing…

In this week’s game you embark on a quest into a haunted house to search for a magic book…a search that will have to be conducted room by room in order to successfully make your way through the house. Will your quest be successful or will you go home empty handed?

Haunted House – Quest for the Magic Book

Here is the first section of the first level (each level is split into three sections). This first section will have you searching for a given set of items among all the household items in the room. You can see the set we were given to look for here and you may encounter a same, slightly different, or totally different set when playing. As you can see in our screenshot some of the items will be rather obvious, but others can and will be difficult to locate across various levels.

There are some things to keep in mind during game play:

Each wrong guess costs you 5 seconds of game time.
Each use of a hint (no limit) costs you 20 seconds of game time (sometimes the loss of a few seconds is well worth the cost and can actually save time if you are having difficulty locating a particular object).
The amount of game time available at the beginning of a level (upper left corner) applies to all three sections combined, so work as quickly as possible.
The higher the level you attain, the shorter the amount of allotted time you will have to complete each level (three sections).
You can easily pause the game using the Pause Text Button in the upper right corner (very useful if you need to stop for some reason and do not want to loose time from the game clock).

The second section of each level will be a ‘spot the difference’ test using half of the room shown in the first section. You can see the seven differences we were presented with here, but you may encounter a slightly (or totally) different set when playing.

The third section will return you to the whole room shown in the first section, but this time you only have to find one item…the golden key that will allow you to unlock the next room (i.e. level).

Once you have found the golden key the level will be complete and you will be presented with your score, time bonus, and can then move on to the next level.

In this week’s game you engage in a holiday war with a group of evil turkeys that are determined to ruin your Thanksgiving Day celebrations. Can you put these evil turkeys on the menu where they belong or will they get in the last gobble at your expense?

You get to start your war with the evil turkeys right on the dinner table!

There are twenty-four levels of turkey battling goodness waiting for you…

The first level works as a tutorial on how to play the game and provides a perfect example of how to make your slice.

One quick slice to get both evil turkeys at once (without hurting the good baby turkey on the right side)…

Oh yes…two evil turkeys on the menu and ready to go.

At the end of each level you will be presented with Slice Points, Penguin Points (we are guessing at an error here and that it should say Turkey Points instead), Star Points, and your total score for that level. From there you can choose to replay the level, return to the Level Selection Screen, or move on to the next level.

This game presents you with multiple puzzles to solve, each more challenging than the last. Throw in moving gears to muddle up the visual process and you have your hands full as you work to solve each one. Can you do it or will you be forced to give up in defeat?

There are fifteen levels waiting to challenge your puzzle solving skills…

The first level is not bad and lets you become familiar with how the game works and looks. All that you need to do is click on two puzzle pieces in order to switch (trade) their positions and keep going until all of them are in their proper place in the gear set up. Keep in mind that the gears are actually moving while you switch puzzle pieces around (and will increase the visual challenge as you progress into higher levels).
Note: It is important that you remember to base your switching choices on the color and look of the gears, NOT the size of the individual puzzle pieces.

Only two puzzle pieces left to switch with each other. The puzzle pieces that you click on will have an enhanced white outline as seen here.

Once you have all of the puzzle pieces in their proper places, you will see the entire set of gears moving and complete for just a moment.

At the end of each level you will be presented with 1 – 3 stars as your score depending on how efficiently you switched the puzzle pieces around.

On to the second level and a slow rise in the number of puzzle pieces to be switched around…

As you can see things only get more difficult the further you go…good luck and have fun!

In this week’s game you join a polar bear in his quest for a warmer place to live. At each stage of the journey you will encounter challenges that need to be overcome in order to continue the journey. Can you figure out the proper courses of action or will you become just another block of ice in the far, far north?

Polar Tale

Here is your starting point in the game. Keep in mind that this game does not have a regular ‘levels system’…either you figure out how to successfully move forward in the current area or you have to start over from the area you failed to move forward in (instead of the beginning of the game). To interact with the game environment you will need to left-click on items or ‘areas’ in order to pick up objects, move objects, and/or initiate actions.

Your goal in the first area is to pick up the money from the table and then uncover the entrance/exit to the igloo…after that the polar bear is ready to go (left-click on him as well).

Our polar bear has arrived at the train station but can not gain entry yet. Start by clicking on the coins in the lower right corner…

Clicking on the coins will move them to a spot above the polar bear’s head. From there click on the coins to deposit them, then click on the small red light on the post to open the gate.

Click on the polar bear to get him to enter the train station.

From here on out you are on your own…just take your time and you will figure out the correct chain of events to make it through the various areas. Good luck and have fun!

Note: We have included a link to a walkthrough video below in case you get stuck because some of the items you need to click on blend in too well with the background to be easily seen (the only drawback we found with the game).

In this week’s game your puzzle solving skills will be tested as you work to build paths between all the colored power nodes on each grid. With 300 puzzle grids and three difficulty levels to challenge you, will you be able to successfully connect all the power nodes from beginning to end in the game?

Stream Master Unlimited

The game lets you choose your desired level of difficulty right from the beginning. Just click on the Play Button for the desired difficulty level and get ready for some awesome fun.
Note: If you conquer the entire game and want more or are just looking for an ‘evil’ challenge, then you can choose to try out the Random Levels option in the lower right corner.

For our example we chose the Easy Levels setting. As you can see here you will be able to navigate back and forth through the puzzle grids for each difficulty level using the Arrow Buttons to access multiple screens.

Here is what the first level looks like. Left click on and hold down the mouse button for the color of power nodes that you want to connect to each other, then drag the mouse from one to the other. If you are unhappy with how your connection line looks just re-click on it to erase it, but keep in mind that it will add a turn to the count at the bottom of the game window.

Almost there for the first level. Remember that none of the connection lines can cross each other or your current one will erase a previously drawn line.
Note: All squares in the grid must be used for connection lines or you will not win for that level.

At the end of each level you will see your star count, moves count, and time for that particular level…more moves means less stars for you. From there you can return to the Levels Selection Screens, replay the level, or move to the next one.

This week’s game lets you have fun with electrical circuits and power supplies as you work to hook up all the modules on each level. Can you figure out the correct circuit layouts to power everything up or will you have to admit defeat?

Power Puzzle 2

As soon as you click Play Game on the Home Screen, you will be taken to the Level Selection Area as shown here. The game comes with twenty-one levels of puzzling fun to keep you busy. Click on 1 to get started…

The first level works as a quick tutorial and is simple to solve with only one module to power up. Click on the curved piece of circuit to rotate it 90 degrees at a time until it lines up with the rest of the circuit.

Once it has been rotated to the correct position you will see the module and entire circuit power up.
Note: You can monitor stats for the current level on the right side of the screen.

As soon as the entire circuit has powered up you will hear a quick, short electrical buzzing sound and see the following type of screen.

The Level Completed! Screen will automatically shift you back to the Level Selection Area. You can click on the next newly unlocked level or replay a currently completed level.

Power Puzzle 2

This week’s game is a bit of a mind bender as you attempt to move colored discs to specific locations on game boards with a very limited amount of maneuverability. Can you successfully move all the discs to their proper locations or will the logic of the game leave you tangled up and frustrated?

Tangled

The Start Screen for the game acts as a combination launching point (click on the game controller button) and provider of instructions. Playing the game is simple…you will have one empty, position-shifting spot (zone) on each board to work with and your goal is to move all the colored discs around until they are on their matching color spots (zones). There will always be a natural wood colored spot (zone) left empty when you compete each board.

There are thirty-six mind bending levels waiting to test your puzzle solving skills…

The first level is straightforward and easy to solve. To move a color disc you will need to left-click on it and it will move to the only unoccupied spot on the board. Keep in mind that there has to be a connecting path between a chosen spot and the empty one before it will move. For our example we chose to move the blue disc first.

Looking good. Now for the red disc…

One step closer.

Once you have moved all the discs to their correct locations you will receive your star count for the level (the star count is based on the number of moves made), can return to the Level Selection Screen, replay the level, or move on to the next one using the Arrow Button.

The second level adds a new spot and color to game play, then it gets more complicated from there as you move through later levels. Good luck and have fun!

This week’s game takes you on a trip down nostalgia lane with retro duck hunting goodness! Will you be successful in hunting those pesky ducks and dealing with surprises along the way or will you hang your head in shame as your faithful dog laughs at you?

Duck Hunt 2

This game plays in the same manner as the original, but has smoother looking graphics and throws in a few ‘twists’ along the way. To begin just click on Start and jump right into Season 1.
Note: The Options Section lets you select the difficulty level, visual quality, and volume for the game.

Our friendly and ever faithful dog is ready for action… Use your mouse to aim and the left button to shoot at the ducks.

At the end of each season you will be presented with your statistics for that level.

In this week’s game you set sail in search of buried treasure using your trusty treasure map to guide you. Things will start off simple enough, but before all is done you will have your work cut out for you as you attempt to earn the treasure!

Special Note: This is our final edition of Weekend Fun and we hope that you have enjoyed the weekly games as much as we have enjoyed sharing them with you.

Treasures of the Mystic Sea

Before you leave the Home Screen shown above you may want to lower or turn off the music for the game using the Volume Control outlined in red.
Once you click on the Play Button you will be taken to a Slot Creation/Selection Screen. Click on the desired one to create a new profile.

All you need to do to create a profile is enter your name. Once that is done you have the opportunity to leave the game set on the default of Time Based Game Play or you can deactivate it and play at your own pace by clicking on the blue gem in the red outlined area (the blue gem will disappear). After you have made your decision you are ready to start the game.

The game comes with a treasure map where each level is marked on it with a Red X. There will be only one area where you can begin your treasure hunting though…hover your mouse over the golden ring until you see a golden pearl like gem appear in the middle of it, then click on that.

The first level keeps things simple…you only need to clear out forty-five sand colored hex tiles by creating chains of icons over top of them. Click on two adjacent icons to switch their positions and create chains that are at least three or more icons in length. Keep in mind that you can select from six different directions in this game, so take a moment to look for the best options (which may not be as easily spotted at first).

Moving right along…

Once you have completed a level you will see your score, bonuses if you were engaged in Time Based Mode, and can move on to the next level.

More of the map will be revealed as you progress further into the game. After the first level you will be able to choose from multiple equal levels, but you will be limited to that section of the map until those levels have all been beaten.

From this point forward there will be additional challenges to overcome with each area explored from the map. Time to get started…

Once you have started on the levels from the second area of the map, you should start paying attention to the sidebar in the game window. There are different powers that you can use to destroy or randomly move icons once they are charged up. They can be very helpful if you have an area of the game board that is being difficult to clear out.
Even though it is not shown in our screenshots, different random icons on the game board will have small bursts of power rotating around them for a limited time. Try to work these power burst icons into your chains so their energy can charge up their corresponding color power. The power bursts will continue to randomly shift to different icons, so get them while you can before they disappear!

For our example we chose to use the Chain Lightning Power…this will let you eliminate one type of icon from various locations on the game board at the same time (the hexes will have a white glow as seen below). From here on out keeping up a ‘sure and steady’ approach will help you clear the game boards and earn the treasure. Good luck and have fun!

Then get ready to detonate that boredom! In this week’s game your mission is to move level to level and blow up the evil things you encounter while not harming the good ones. Blow Things Up! 2 The object of the game is to blow up the evil things you encounter on each level while not harming the good ones. There are thirty levels of explosive goodness waiting for you. The first level serves as a training level to help you become familiar with the game mechanics. You can disable the sound, set off the explosives using the detonator, and see the remaining bombs available to use in the lower left corner. Note: You can use the Space Bar to detonate the explosives if preferred. Use your mouse to place the bombs where desired and left click to set them in place. Detonate your explosives to see if your bomb pattern can successfully dislodge the evil things from their perches or not. If your pattern does not work you can continue to place bombs until you run out or reset the level if needed. If you manage to meet the challenge goal for each level (limited number of bombs that can be used), you receive a trophy for that level. The second level starts to make things a bit more interesting. As you can see (lower toolbar area) the maximum number of bombs that can be used and still win a trophy is two. We decided to go with three here to clear all the evil things out in one round. Kaboom! No trophy but we still received a star and continued to unlock higher levels. As you progress through the game you will continue to encounter new types of evil things. The pink ones really bounce and the best approach on level three is to place your bomb as quickly as possible and detonate it while the pink thing is still bouncing. In this week’s game your mission is to help a wee lad named Simon defend the treasure he found at the beach from the evil pirates who want to steal it. Raft Wars The object of the game is to help young Simon and his brother defeat the evil pirates who are determined to steal the gold and diamond treasure found on the beach. The game comes with a short story detailing how young Simon found his gold and diamond treasure at the beach. Unfortunately for Simon his newfound fame has brought some unwanted attention… Note: The storyline only takes a few moments to play out but you can skip it if desired. When each level begins you will see the pirates’ side of the “battlefield” and a Par Goal for that level. Left click the mouse to start the level. Once you click with the mouse the screen will shift to Simon’s side of the “battlefield”. The game provides a quick visual tutorial (no interaction required) on how to aim and shoot. Use your mouse to adjust the angle of your cannon (up and down), the power level of the shot (right and left movement), and left click when ready to fire. When the tutorial is finished you will see your ammo types/count in the upper left corner and be able to monitor the health levels/number of people left on each side of the battle at the bottom. In this week’s game you must work your way through a series of rooms with block puzzles in order to escape to freedom. Block Puzzle? Block Puzzle! The object of the game is to solve the block puzzles for each of the twenty rooms you must travel through. Things start out simple enough but will you be ready for when the going gets tough? Here is the first (and most simple) room in the game. It serves as a quickie training exercise of sorts to get you familiar with moving around in the game. Note: There will be messages at the top of each level to help you with playing the game. Ready to travel to the next room… As soon as you reach the exit you will be automatically transported to the next room. Note: The waterfalls do not affect your movement through a room. When you reach the second room you will encounter the first of the block puzzles. You will need to push the block on top of the pressure plate outlined in red below. Once you have done that the exit will activate and allow you to move onto the next room. To push a block simply use the arrow key to move in the desired direction. Exit activated… Leaving, leaving, leaving. Room three starts your encounters with multiple blocks in order to activate the exit. Success! In this week’s game your mission is to help a hungry kitten successfully travel through strange and dangerous lands to reach the milk treasure shown on his map. The Milk Quest The object of the game is to solve the movement puzzles on each level and help the kitten reach the milk shown on his treasure map. Are you ready to help him complete his quest? The background story for the game shows a kitten who goes to the kitchen to get some milk, but unfortunately there is none left for him to eat. So he must embark on a quest to find some using his new treasure map. You can easily skip the story and move on to the game if desired… Here is the first level of the quest…you will need to help the kitten safely reach the ground. Clicking on the chair will move it close enough to the table to serve as step down from the table. Click on the Arrow on the left side to make the kitten move and progress on to the next level. Note: To interact with all items and the kitten click on them. The second level sees the kitten returning to the kitchen but this time there is a wall blocking his way. Click on the pair of pliers to make them drop down and dislodge the nail holding the wall brace. Collapse the brace and knock down the wall to create a bridge back up to the counter-top. In this week’s game you have a chance for greatness and the opportunity to visit Olympus as you work to build a new city in the bygone era of ancient Rome. Rome Puzzle The object of the game is to start with a wilderness area and build a new city piece by piece. If you work hard enough you can also earn the right to visit Olympus, the home of the Roman gods. Are you up to the challenge in this quest for greatness? Note: Clicking on the Help Button will provide information regarding game items, bonuses that can be won during the game, some background, and more. Pressing the Play Button will immediately take you to the first level. You can monitor your score, supplies earned, and more using the bar at the top of the window. In the lower right corner is the timer (the water level in the jar). To play the game line up three or more matching items in a row (horizontally or vertically) by clicking on and switching tiles around. That will clear those squares allowing more items to slide into the puzzle board. There are three areas of specific interest on the first level…the squares that have a blue background will need to be cleared. Try to include them in a matching set so that they will turn to the same light brown color as the rest of the puzzle board. Once all of the blue squares are cleared the level will be completed. Two gone and one to go… When you complete a level you will be presented with the stats for time, money/items earned, and a time bonus if you finished quickly enough. After reviewing your stats you can start on building your new city. At the bottom of the window you will see the buildings that you can afford to purchase. These four buildings comprise the first group of levels in the game. Hovering your mouse over the Buy Button will show details about that particular structure. Click on the button to purchase the building. Once a building has been purchased it will be placed in an appropriate location on your map and the Buy Button will change to Bought. Level two adds building supplies to the puzzle board. There is also an increase in the number of blue squares that will need to be cleared. You will receive an in-level bonus the first time that you clear a five item section after purchasing the Sawmill. Depending on the time you have left on a level, you may want to play a bit longer in order to earn more gold, supplies, etc while balancing out the time bonus. Having that Forge would definitely be useful! As with the Sawmill, your new Forge will be automatically placed on the map for you once it has been purchased. Note: The more expensive buildings may take more than one round/level of game play to pay for depending on how much gold and supplies you earn. Time to get back to work! As you complete each group of levels your public status will change and improve. You may start out small, but you can build your path to greatness! In this week’s game your goal is to safely move a trio of orbs from one side of game levels to the other, but it is not as easy as it sounds. Are you up to the challenge of solving the patterns to successfully navigate through the different levels and achieve ultimate victory? Impasse The object of the game is simple. Move your trio of orbs all the way to the right side of the level without moving over/connecting with the colored orbs you encounter along the way. What starts off as easy will quickly become more complicated, so be ready to think your way through! To move your trio of orbs all you need to do is use the four Arrow Keys for right, left, up, and down (all three orbs will move in tandem). Note: You can see which level you are on using the indicator bar in the bottom half of the screen. Getting closer… When you successfully reach the right side of the level line up your trio of orbs with the green ones and use the Right Arrow Key to move over/connect with them. As soon as the connection occurs you will be automatically moved to the next level. Note: The level will be started over if you happen to accidentally move over/connect with orbs while moving across the level. Level Two steps things up a bit with more grey orbs to work your way around Moving right along… Success! Level Three will be the last of the easy levels where all of the orbs remain stationary as you make your way across the level. Level Four introduces a new component to the mix. The orange orbs will also shift as you move your trio of orbs up or down across the level. Levels beyond the fourth will mix the regular gray and the movable orange orbs together for even more fun (or frustration depending on your point of view!). In this week’s game your mission is to take your awesome mining machine and work your way to prosperity and glory. Are you ready to dig in? Mega Miner The object of the game is to mine your way to prosperity and glory while upgrading your mining machine and earning as many of the accomplishments as possible. You can have up to three different games saved. Choose the slot you would like to use and click on it. You start the game in the middle of the small town and will see messages in drop-down boxes at the top of the window. Press the Space Bar when you are finished with each one. The small town contains the following buildings (left to right): Mechanical Repairs Shop, Fuel Station, Teleport Station, Save Tower (for saving your game as your go), Buyer for Mined Goods, Upgrades Shop, and the Status Billboard (you can view your awards, etc. here). All you need to play the game are the four Arrow Keys (up, down, left, right) and the Space Bar. You can also use the mouse at times to click on or select items while above or below ground. Click on the left tab to view any expendable single-use items such as extra fuel, sonar pulses, etc. that you have on hand while mining below ground. Carrying extra emergency fuel once you start to mine deeper is definitely a good idea… The tab on the right will show you a map of the area above and below ground along with your current location. Stop in front of buildings and press the Space Bar to interact with the owners and conduct your business in town. To get started on your mining career simply choose a spot along the surface that “feels lucky” to you and use the Down Arrow Key to start digging into the ground. As you are mining you will need to keep an eye on various monitors in the corners of the game window: The upper left shows your depth underground. The lower left shows the amount of cargo carrying capacity remaining and the mechanical health of your mining machine. The lower right shows the amount of fuel you have remaining and a temperature indicator. The upper right monitor is only useful when above ground and purchasing fuel, repairs, and upgrades. You will notice that part of the surrounding area will become visible as you move around underground and explore. Near the surface the hidden areas are covered in black but further down they are hidden in white (the color change could be a possible game glitch). As you are mining try to collect various materials such as coal, iron, silver, gold, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds to take back to the surface to sell. The deeper you go, the more valuable the items that you find become… Continue mining until your cargo hold is full and/or you need to return to the surface to refuel. When you return to the surface go to the Buyer for Mined Goods and press the Space Bar to sell your mined materials. From there you can purchase fuel, repairs if needed, and upgrades. Make sure to stop by the Save Tower each time you are above ground to save your progress. Good luck and have fun! Tower Defense games are a dime a dozen; it takes a lot to stand out from the pack. Kingdom Rush has polished graphics, a great sound track, an RPG theme with multiple levels, local and online save points, multiple units/enemies/special powers, and a great built in tutorial and tips system to get you moving along quickly. It’s a good enough incarnation of the Tower Defense genre that we’d happily buy it to play on our iPad if it was available as an iOS game. In this week’s game you choose your favorite flavor of ice cream and start a perilous quest to collect fruit for yourself while avoiding getting melted by enemies. Bad Ice-Cream The object of the game is to safely navigate each level to collect all of the fruit while avoiding being melted by your enemies. You can choose between single and two player modes. Next click on your favorite flavor. There are forty levels of fruit gathering, danger avoiding fun waiting for you. We have included the Help screenshots here so that you can get a feel for the game before-hand. Here is what the first level looks like…as you move around the other parts of it will become visible. All that you need to play the game are the four Arrow Keys (single player mode) and the Space Bar for creating/destroying ice blocks. Move around the level collecting the fruit while avoiding the monsters. You can monitor the types and number of fruit that you will need to collect on the various levels at the bottom of the screen. Note: You will most likely want to disable the music for the game (upper right corner). Moving right along on those bananas… Note: As soon as you finish collecting the first set of fruit the second set will automatically appear. On to the grapes! When you complete the level you will be presented with your score and the ability to go to the next level or back to the menu. Starting with Level Two you will definitely be destroying and creating ice blocks as you go…those ice blocks can be really useful for trapping monsters while you are collecting fruit. Siege Hero – Viking Vengeance The object of the game is to successfully conquer your enemies by destroying their castles and save your Viking allies along the way. Getting gold as you go makes it even better. Here is the first level…nothing too hard to start off with. You get three missiles to fire at the two towers. The missile selection area will appear in the lower right corner and you need to click on a missile in order to use it. Note: Ignore the Plus Sign in the upper corner since it does not add to the game itself. Once you have clicked on a missile use your mouse to aim for the desired target area. Left click when you are ready to fire. Going down… Once you have fired a missile you will need to wait for the selection area to recharge. Crunch! When you complete a level you can choose to replay the level or move on to the next one. You will see the Level Selection Window for the first time after completing Level One. Note: If you look closely and wait a few moments, you can have fun watching a shark swim around and see birds flying across the map/level selection area (outlined in red). Level Two sees you making your first attack at night. So nice of those soldiers to leave the lights on for you! We chose to target the two center stone columns on the ground level while playing. One column gone, one to go… Goodbye castle! A brilliant victory and a new record score for the level. The campaign is off to an awesome start. Note: The Play 150+ Levels link at the bottom of the window takes you to the iTunes store. The third level introduces the multiple-missile shot. On to glory and victory! Note: Keep in mind that Level 17 is going to be pretty frustrating, so be prepared for it! In this week’s game your mission is to outwit and eliminate the rats that have taken over a house. Are you ready to ‘be’ the better mouse trap? Verminator The object of the game is to successfully eliminate the rats on each level using the limited amount of resources available. Things will start off simple enough, but the higher levels will definitely make you think! There are thirty levels of rat eliminating goodness waiting for you. Here is the first level. Placing cheese on the nearby flat area as bait will lure the rat off of his safe perch and into the water. Note: The number beside the cheese (or other item) types in the upper left corner denote how much you have left to work with. The smell of the cheese will definitely have an effect on him and the only thing on his mind will be a quick yummy meal. One less rat in the house… At the end of each level you will be presented with your score, rank, and be able to replay the level or move on to the next one. The second level pretty much takes care of itself and demonstrates the negative reaction the rats will have to green cheese. Must. Get. Away. The third level introduces wooden boards into the equation…they will easily tip over unless cheese is carefully placed on them or if a rat does not land correctly on them. Time for a bit of surfing rat fun! Note: The blocks of cheese have a limited distance that their scent can travel, so choose your locations wisely. Goodbye Mr. Rat… The fourth level allows you to start using more than one kind of cheese in order to get rid of the rats. Levels further on will also allow you to use mini-bombs on the rats. Then take a moment to relax with a quick bit of fun. In this week’s game your mission is to set up a solid defense to stop the incoming waves of zombie hordes using the various weapon towers at your disposal. Zombie Defense Agency The object of the game is to stop multiple waves of zombie hordes in each combat zone by strategically using the resources available to you. Are you ready to pit your brains against the zombie brawn? Here is the “how-to” tutorial for the game…we have included all four screens for your convenience. On to the first combat zone! There is only one zombie entry point to defend against here so things are working in your favor. We have highlighted multiple areas in the screenshot below that you should monitor while fighting the zombies. At the top you have Lives Remaining (the number of zombies that can get past your defenses before you lose on a particular level) and the Cash Available to purchase defense towers with (buy them in the lower left corner). Along the bottom are the Defense Tower Purchase, Upgrade/Sell, and Wave Number/Game Control areas. You can choose the type of defense towers you want to purchase by clicking on them in the lower left corner and then left clicking in the location you want to set them up at. Once you have everything set up to your satisfaction click on the Next Button in the lower right corner to start the battle against the zombie hordes. Note: Hovering over defense tower types will display a brief description about the type of damage they inflict. Burn zombies burn! Setting up an “alley of destruction” makes fighting those zombies a bit easier. You will have the opportunity to choose an upgrade type when you do well during game play. Only one choice can be selected on the screen, so choose carefully. Once you have successfully defeated all of the zombies in a combat zone you will be presented with your score, the choice to move on to the next combat zone, or you can go to the Level Selection Area to replay the combat zone you just completed. Note: There are a total of fifteen combat zones for you to battle zombies in. This is the second combat zone. In this week’s game you set off on a campaign across ancient Mediterranean regions to acquire multiple artifacts in a quest for success. Special Note: This flash version of the game allows you to play through three areas (Phoenicia, Babylon, and Egypt) of the overall campaign that is available in the full version. Even in its limited form it still provides a good amount of game play. The Rise of Atlantis The object of the game is to successfully gather the different pieces of artifacts from each level. Once you have gathered enough pieces you can reassemble each artifact and complete that part of your campaign. Watch for and gather the bonuses shown in the lower right corner whenever possible…they will be very useful later on. Here is the campaign map. You will start off in Phoenicia where the small red flag is waving. You will also get to learn a new historical fact about each area every time you view the campaign map. Click on two adjoining tiles to switch them or click on and drag one of the tiles to the desired adjoining square to switch them. Note: You can monitor your remaining time on each level using the golden bar at the bottom of the window. The shorter the bar is, the less time you have left. Here is your goal for this level…the first piece of the Bottomless Chest of Gold. First piece collected! At the end of each level you will be able to view a nice set of stats detailing the longest chain of tiles matched, amount of time for the level, your score, and more. This screen is the one drawback to the flash version of the game. It will display each time before going back to the campaign map. Time to start the second level of the campaign… The second level allows you access to a very useful little tool…the Sun Power-up which will help you clear portions of the game board when used. When the Sun Power-up reaches 100% click on it to shoot multiple fireballs across the game squares. The tiles they hit will disappear and open up those squares for tile movement/progress. The reward for successfully completing the Phoenician part of the campaign! Next stop Babylon! Rubble Trouble Tokyo The object of the game is to successfully demolish old buildings using explosives, demolition tools, and other nice surprises you find along the way. Each level begins with a bit of dialogue pertaining to that particular assignment…you can read through it or choose to skip it altogether. Once the dialogue part is finished you will see the tools that you have available to work in the lower left corner. The tools will vary from level to level… You can also monitor the buildings remaining in the upper left corner. Click on the Nitro Button, place it in the desired location, and left click to detonate it. One building down… Two buildings down now and ready for the last one. In it our poor office worker has finally had all that he can take from his boss and decides that it is time to sort the boss out. My “Dear” Boss *You may want to disable the music for this game before starting game play since it can be somewhat irritating (upper right corner).* The quick background story shows how rough our office worker’s day has been. Playing the game is simple. Click on the Kick Button while trying to catch the meter as close as possible to the top center for maximum kicking effect. The boss is really letting our poor office worker have it, so it is time to sort him out. Click on the Kick Button when ready to send him flying out the window. Up, up, and away! Bouncing right along…once he stops moving you will be able to see him looking shocked for just a moment. At the end of each round you will be able to see the distance you sent the boss flying, bonus score if any, and the total cash for upgrades earned. You can enter the upgrades area using the Menu Button, send the boss flying out the window again using the Right Arrow, or exit the game using the Power Button at the bottom (this will delete your progress if chosen). Are you good enough to show Robin Hood a thing or two about using a bow or will you be shot down in shame? Archers Oath The game has twenty-five levels of archery skill testing fun waiting for you. Game play is simple enough, but having a good aim and being able to save captives in time is where the challenge comes in. Use the distance and height of your mouse from the archer to adjust the strength and angle of the arrows you shoot. The clock is ticking… You can monitor the number of arrows you have left at the top. Make sure to keep an eye on the health bar for the captives…it goes down pretty quickly at times. Saved him with the first shot… Your score will depend on how quickly you were able to save the captive(s) for that particular level. From there you can return to the Level Selection Area or move on to the next level. The second level starts getting you used to shooting at higher angles to save captives. Level three and beyond will see you using new types of arrows, removing obstacles before you can save captives, using objects to help save captives, and more. Defending your position will be easy enough at first, but things will quickly become complicated! Do you have the speed and accuracy required to survive or will the enemy have the last word? Z-Type The game starts you off at the Play Mode Selection Screen. Make any desired adjustments to the sound/music volume, then select the mode you would like to play. This is what the first wave looks like. There will be three words of varying short lengths with small ‘energy fighters’ attached to them. Each time you destroy all of the words attacking your position you will see the All Clear Message, but do not drop your guard because the next wave is already on its way. Will your quest be successful or will you go home empty handed? Haunted House – Quest for the Magic Book Here is the first section of the first level (each level is split into three sections). This first section will have you searching for a given set of items among all the household items in the room. You can see the set we were given to look for here and you may encounter a same, slightly different, or totally different set when playing. As you can see in our screenshot some of the items will be rather obvious, but others can and will be difficult to locate across various levels. There are some things to keep in mind during game play: Each wrong guess costs you 5 seconds of game time. Each use of a hint (no limit) costs you 20 seconds of game time (sometimes the loss of a few seconds is well worth the cost and can actually save time if you are having difficulty locating a particular object). The amount of game time available at the beginning of a level (upper left corner) applies to all three sections combined, so work as quickly as possible. The higher the level you attain, the shorter the amount of allotted time you will have to complete each level (three sections). You can easily pause the game using the Pause Text Button in the upper right corner (very useful if you need to stop for some reason and do not want to loose time from the game clock). The second section of each level will be a ‘spot the difference’ test using half of the room shown in the first section. You can see the seven differences we were presented with here, but you may encounter a slightly (or totally) different set when playing. The third section will return you to the whole room shown in the first section, but this time you only have to find one item…the golden key that will allow you to unlock the next room (i.e. level). Once you have found the golden key the level will be complete and you will be presented with your score, time bonus, and can then move on to the next level. Swap It ET (Gears Game) There are fifteen levels waiting to challenge your puzzle solving skills… The first level is not bad and lets you become familiar with how the game works and looks. All that you need to do is click on two puzzle pieces in order to switch (trade) their positions and keep going until all of them are in their proper place in the gear set up. Keep in mind that the gears are actually moving while you switch puzzle pieces around (and will increase the visual challenge as you progress into higher levels). Note: It is important that you remember to base your switching choices on the color and look of the gears, NOT the size of the individual puzzle pieces. Once you have all of the puzzle pieces in their proper places, you will see the entire set of gears moving and complete for just a moment. At each stage of the journey you will encounter challenges that need to be overcome in order to continue the journey. Can you figure out the proper courses of action or will you become just another block of ice in the far, far north? Polar Tale Here is your starting point in the game. Keep in mind that this game does not have a regular ‘levels system’…either you figure out how to successfully move forward in the current area or you have to start over from the area you failed to move forward in (instead of the beginning of the game). To interact with the game environment you will need to left-click on items or ‘areas’ in order to pick up objects, move objects, and/or initiate actions. Your goal in the first area is to pick up the money from the table and then uncover the entrance/exit to the igloo…after that the polar bear is ready to go (left-click on him as well). Our polar bear has arrived at the train station but can not gain entry yet. Start by clicking on the coins in the lower right corner… Clicking on the coins will move them to a spot above the polar bear’s head. From there click on the coins to deposit them, then click on the small red light on the post to open the gate. Click on the polar bear to get him to enter the train station. From here on out you are on your own…just take your time and you will figure out the correct chain of events to make it through the various areas. Good luck and have fun! With 300 puzzle grids and three difficulty levels to challenge you, will you be able to successfully connect all the power nodes from beginning to end in the game? Stream Master Unlimited The game lets you choose your desired level of difficulty right from the beginning. Just click on the Play Button for the desired difficulty level and get ready for some awesome fun. Note: If you conquer the entire game and want more or are just looking for an ‘evil’ challenge, then you can choose to try out the Random Levels option in the lower right corner. For our example we chose the Easy Levels setting. As you can see here you will be able to navigate back and forth through the puzzle grids for each difficulty level using the Arrow Buttons to access multiple screens. Here is what the first level looks like. Left click on and hold down the mouse button for the color of power nodes that you want to connect to each other, then drag the mouse from one to the other. If you are unhappy with how your connection line looks just re-click on it to erase it, but keep in mind that it will add a turn to the count at the bottom of the game window. Almost there for the first level. Remember that none of the connection lines can cross each other or your current one will erase a previously drawn line. Note: All squares in the grid must be used for connection lines or you will not win for that level. At the end of each level you will see your star count, moves count, and time for that particular level…more moves means less stars for you. From there you can return to the Levels Selection Screens, replay the level, or move to the next one. On to level two… Here is a look at level ninety-one, the first of the medium difficulty levels. Can you figure out the correct circuit layouts to power everything up or will you have to admit defeat? Power Puzzle 2 As soon as you click Play Game on the Home Screen, you will be taken to the Level Selection Area as shown here. The game comes with twenty-one levels of puzzling fun to keep you busy. Click on 1 to get started… The first level works as a quick tutorial and is simple to solve with only one module to power up. Click on the curved piece of circuit to rotate it 90 degrees at a time until it lines up with the rest of the circuit. Once it has been rotated to the correct position you will see the module and entire circuit power up. Note: You can monitor stats for the current level on the right side of the screen. As soon as the entire circuit has powered up you will hear a quick, short electrical buzzing sound and see the following type of screen. The Level Completed! Screen will automatically shift you back to the Level Selection Area. You can click on the next newly unlocked level or replay a currently completed level. Can you successfully move all the discs to their proper locations or will the logic of the game leave you tangled up and frustrated? Tangled The Start Screen for the game acts as a combination launching point (click on the game controller button) and provider of instructions. Playing the game is simple…you will have one empty, position-shifting spot (zone) on each board to work with and your goal is to move all the colored discs around until they are on their matching color spots (zones). There will always be a natural wood colored spot (zone) left empty when you compete each board. There are thirty-six mind bending levels waiting to test your puzzle solving skills… The first level is straightforward and easy to solve. To move a color disc you will need to left-click on it and it will move to the only unoccupied spot on the board. Keep in mind that there has to be a connecting path between a chosen spot and the empty one before it will move. For our example we chose to move the blue disc first. Looking good. Now for the red disc… One step closer. Once you have moved all the discs to their correct locations you will receive your star count for the level (the star count is based on the number of moves made), can return to the Level Selection Screen, replay the level, or move on to the next one using the Arrow Button. The second level adds a new spot and color to game play, then it gets more complicated from there as you move through later levels. Things will start off simple enough, but before all is done you will have your work cut out for you as you attempt to earn the treasure! *Special Note: This is our final edition of Weekend Fun and we hope that you have enjoyed the weekly games as much as we have enjoyed sharing them with you.* Treasures of the Mystic Sea Before you leave the Home Screen shown above you may want to lower or turn off the music for the game using the Volume Control outlined in red. Once you click on the Play Button you will be taken to a Slot Creation/Selection Screen. Click on the desired one to create a new profile. All you need to do to create a profile is enter your name. Once that is done you have the opportunity to leave the game set on the default of Time Based Game Play or you can deactivate it and play at your own pace by clicking on the blue gem in the red outlined area (the blue gem will disappear). After you have made your decision you are ready to start the game. The game comes with a treasure map where each level is marked on it with a Red X. There will be only one area where you can begin your treasure hunting though…hover your mouse over the golden ring until you see a golden pearl like gem appear in the middle of it, then click on that. The first level keeps things simple…you only need to clear out forty-five sand colored hex tiles by creating chains of icons over top of them. Click on two adjacent icons to switch their positions and create chains that are at least three or more icons in length. Keep in mind that you can select from six different directions in this game, so take a moment to look for the best options (which may not be as easily spotted at first). Moving right along… Once you have completed a level you will see your score, bonuses if you were engaged in Time Based Mode, and can move on to the next level. More of the map will be revealed as you progress further into the game. After the first level you will be able to choose from multiple equal levels, but you will be limited to that section of the map until those levels have all been beaten. From this point forward there will be additional challenges to overcome with each area explored from the map. Time to get started… Once you have started on the levels from the second area of the map, you should start paying attention to the sidebar in the game window. There are different powers that you can use to destroy or randomly move icons once they are charged up. They can be very helpful if you have an area of the game board that is being difficult to clear out. Even though it is not shown in our screenshots, different random icons on the game board will have small bursts of power rotating around them for a limited time. Try to work these power burst icons into your chains so their energy can charge up their corresponding color power. The power bursts will continue to randomly shift to different icons, so get them while you can before they disappear! For our example we chose to use the Chain Lightning Power…this will let you eliminate one type of icon from various locations on the game board at the same time (the hexes will have a white glow as seen below). From here on out keeping up a ‘sure and steady’ approach will help you clear the game boards and earn the treasure.
