Hannibal Lecter Fanatic Carved Out and & Ate Student’s Liver

A student obsessed with psycho movie character Hannibal Lecter bludgeoned his mate to death with a hammer then ate his liver, a court heard.

The suspect, known only as Nhat T, is also accused of hacking Chenxi L's body to pieces after the alleged murder.


The first day of the 24-year-old's trial in Jena, Germany, heard Chenxi L's body parts were found stuffed in plastic bags across the city.

The victim's head was discovered under a bridge, jurors were told.

Christian Stuenkel, prosecuting, said: "Hannibal Lecter was the biggest idol of the accused.

"He watched all the films and series again and again.

"The film 'Hannibal' definitely played a big role in the defendant's life."

And, just like the psychopath in the Thomas Harris novels, Nhat T was handcuffed as he was led into the courtroom today.

He hid his face in his hoodie.

The prosecution confirmed the victim's liver was missing from its body and an autopsy showed signs of it being removed by a sharp instrument such as a knife.

But the liver was never found and prosecutors believe the suspect might have eaten it.

They reportedly referred to the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs film, when the infamous cannibal psychiatrist says his famous line: "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti."

The alleged killing happened in Jena in August 2018, where the accused and the victim attended university.

Nhat T lured Chenxi L into his flat by telling him that a package had arrived for him.
He then played loud music and struck him with a hammer, jurors heard.

Prosecutors alleged Nhat T searched for terms such as "Hannibal Lecter", "secure killing methods" and "psychological illnesses" around 30,000 times on the internet before the murder.

It's said he also watched The Silence of the Lambs several times and the sequel Hannibal.

The trial is ongoing.
