Are you ready for Windows 8?

Are you ready for Windows 8?
I do not know. The more I read the more uncertain I become.
I get the feeling that Windows now will decide which programs we are allowed to use.
For example, they will exclude Firefox and other programs who is competing with or do not fit in the Windows profile.
Windows has already decided that the DVD / BlueRay is obsolete, and there are more to come.

Windows, Apple and Google competing already on smartphone / pad market.
It would not surprise me if Google come with Android for PC.
Then we have three companies that will compete for the same market.
And all three will try to bind you to their products. If you use this, you must also use this and this.
The battle has begun.
I am considering trying Linux.

Re: Are you ready for Windows 8?

I began to purchase MAC/Apple products over the last year and I can say that once you get use to the setup and capability, in my opinion they are ahead of PC ...

I first started with the Macbook Pro, then the iPad, Apple TV and picked up the iphone for the kid.... I love how they ALL Sync up to each other and now with the endless apps, it is super easy to do just about anything now.

Before Steve Jobs passed away, one of his last projects was to create a new TV... I can see this happening in the near future that will have a built in Apple TV, unlimited apps and be compatible to all the Apple products and basically be a huge iPad.

Things will get very interesting in the computer world in the next few years, so these companies will be trying everything to get the attention of the buying public as it is no longer a Microsoft world.
