Former supermodel Jerry Hall has been spotted out and about for the first time since announcing her engagement to media mogul Rupert Murdoch - but she appears to be keeping the ring under wraps for now.

Mr Murdoch, 84, revealed the news on the Births, Marriages and Deaths page of the Times, which is owned by his News Corporation, following a whirlwind four-month romance.

Today, Ms Hall cut a glamorous figure as she arrived at Heathrow Airport in London after flying in from Los Angeles, where the couple got engaged over the weekend, but kept her left hand firmly hidden from view.

Announcement: Mr Murdoch, the executive chairman of News Corporation, which owns The Times, shared the the news of their upcoming nuptials in an article on the Births, Marriages and Deaths page of the newspaper

During their stay in Hollywood the pair attended the
awards gala in one of their few public appearances as a couple.

The billionaire's new fiancee, Miss Hall, 59, has four children with former partner Jagger, although the couple were never legally married.

Mr Murdoch and Miss Hall started dating in the late summer after being introduced by one of Murdoch's sisters and his niece in Australia.
The couple made their relationship public in October when they were seen for the first time together at the Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham in London.

They were next seen walking arm-in-arm down the red carpet ahead of the Golden Globes awards ceremony on Sunday, although Miss Hall did not appear to be wearing an engagement ring.

The classified advertisement announcing their engagement reads: 'Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement.'

A spokesperson for the Murdoch family told MailOnline: 'They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future.'

No date for their wedding has been given.

It will be Mr Murdoch’s fourth marriage, having divorced Wendi Deng in 2013. His first marriage was to Australian Patricia Booker and he then married Glasgow-born journalist Anna Torv.

It will be Miss Hall’s first official marriage after an unofficial ceremony with Jagger in 1990 was declared invalid after the pair ended their 23-year relationship in 1999.

Australian-born Mr Murdoch has been careful to ensure the financial future of his six children, with each being given a share in News Corporation's profits.

Only James and Lachlan, Mr Murdoch's two sons to second wife Ms Torv, are directly involved in the running of his media empire, which owns the Sun, the Wall Street Journal and Fox Entertainment Group.

It is understood Ms Torv, who was married to Mr Murdoch for 32 years, walked away with a settlement worth $1.7billion when the couple divorced in 1999.

Meanwhile Ms Deng was given a $44million New York apartment, a $20million property in Beijing, in addition to assets as per the couple's pre-nuptial agreement, when she split from Mr Murdoch in 2013. However, she has no equity in News Corporation and no voting rights in the business.

It is not yet clear whether Mr Murdoch plans to give Miss Hall, who has an estimated fortune of $15million, a stake in the company.

Relaxed: Miss Hall looked delighted as she shared a light-hearted moment with Mr Murdoch during the game

Mr Murdoch and Miss Hall, originally from Texas, were introduced two years after the end of his 14-year marriage to Ms Deng.
His split from the Chinese businesswoman - who he met when she was interning at one of his TV stations - amid rumors of her 'infatuation' with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

After informing their children of their blossoming relationship, Mr Murdoch and Miss Hall went public in October at the Rugby World Cup Final in London, where they sported matching Australia scarves in support of the mogul's home nation.

The couple's joy was apparent as they walked into the stadium arm-in-arm, smiling and waving flags.
They were later seen sharing a joke as they watched the action from a box, before Mr Murdoch leaned over to give Miss Hall a tender kiss on the cheek.

At the time, a family friend of the Murdochs told The Mail on Sunday: 'It's all very new. They are really enjoying each other's company very much.'

Another friend elaborated: 'He is very fond of her. There is no question that they are a couple,' before adding that both Rupert and Jerry's children were aware of the relationship.

FAMILY BUSINESS: THE TANGLED WEB OF RUPERT MURDOCH'S BILLIONS

Second wife: Rupert Murdoch with Glasgow-born journalist Anna Torv in 1997. The couple divorced in 1999 after 32 years together

With six children from three marriages, Rupert Murdoch's family is a complex machine that is a constant source of interest for international media.
And its fortunes are inextricably tied with those of News Corporation, Mr Murdoch's empire in which his four daughters and two sons each have a share.

The tycoon, 84, who has an estimated personal fortune of more than $12billion, is understood to have included his six children in a large stock pool which was valued at $2billion in 2006.

The understanding is that the children will each have an equal share of the takings - some $300million each.

Prudence MacLeod, 57, is the billionaire's only child from his first marriage to Patricia Booker, a flight attendant from Melbourne. The couple were married for 11 years, divorcing in 1967.

Ms Booker is believed to have walked away with a divorce settlement worth $1.2billion.

Mrs MacLeod, known as Prue, married a News Corporation executive. She is believed to be included in the stock pool as well as having voting rights in the company.
It is not clear if she has any other involvement in the family business.

Mr Murdoch had three children with second wife Anna Torv, a Glasgow-born journalist who worked on the News Corporation-owned Daily Telegraph in Sydney. The couple divorced in 1999 after 32 years together.

Elisabeth Murdoch, 47, boasts a significant personal fortune and her business acumen has long been lauded by her father.
Her UK-based TV production company Shine was bought by Rupert Murdoch in 2011, and later merged with other divisions by parent company 21st Century Fox.

Ms Murdoch, who is twice divorced, reportedly walked away with $320million from the Shine deal.
However, any future role within News Corporation is unclear. She was critical of her brother James' handling of the phone-hacking scandal which led to the demise of News of the World.

It is only Mr Murdoch's two sons with Ms Torv who are directly involved in the running of his business.

Women in power: Mr Murdoch with ex-wife Wendi Deng, right, and daughter Elisabeth Murdoch in 2008

Lachlan Murdoch, 44, has been reinstated 10 years after breaking away from the family to set up his own empire in Australia.
He has returned to take up a role as co-executive chairman of 21st Century Fox and his future within the family business appears assured once more.

Meanwhile James, 43, who has an estimated net worth of $160million, was recently installed CEO of 21st Century Fox.
He faced widespread public criticism in the wake of the phone hacking scandal at the News of the World. He was chairman of the publication's holding company News Group Newspapers when news of the scandal came to light.

Mr Murdoch's youngest children, 14-year-old Grace and Chloe, 12, were born to third wife Wedi Deng, whom he divorced in 2013 after 14 years of marriage.
Ms Deng was given a $44 million New York apartment and another in Beijing worth about $20 million and undisclosed assets as per the couple's pre-nuptial agreement but she has no equity in the company and no voting rights in the operation.

Grace and Chloe were included in the $2 billion stock pool back but are not thought to have any voting rights.

It remains unclear how, if at all, Miss Hall will be factored in to the operation of the business.

However the former model, who boasts a personal net worth of some $15million, would stand to inherit part of the family fortune.

The couple's next public appearance was at the Golden Globe awards on Sunday, where they walked the red carpet alongside Mr Murdoch's son, Lachlan, and daughter-in-law, Sarah.
Miss Hall looked elegant in a floor-length black gown, with sequin detail that made the most of her slim figure. Mr Murdoch opted for a dapper suit and tie combination, finishing the look with a pair of tinted glasses.

Inside the ceremony, the couple shared a table with some of Hollywood's most high-profile A-listers, with Miss Hall seated next to Best Actor in a Motion Picture nominee Matt Damon.

After more than 20 years on the arm of Rolling Stones frontman Jagger, Miss Hall is used to rubbing shoulders with the brightest stars in showbusiness.
The couple have four children together, Elizabeth, 31, James, 30, Georgia May, 24, and Gabriel, 18.

The model, who was one of the most photographed models of the 1970s, dated Roxy Music musician Bryan Ferry before meeting Jagger.

After their split she had a series of relationships with younger men, including film producer George Waud, London banker Tim Attias, and scientist Armand Leroi, her most recent boyfriend.

Before Mr Leroi, she enjoyed an intense romance with millionaire property tycoon Warwick Hemsley.

Awards veteran: Mr Murdoch with his then-wife Wendi Deng at the Golden Globes in 2011, left, and in 2012

Miss Hall has previously spoken about how 'getting married again is a nice idea' but that she hadn't met the 'right person' since her divorce from Jagger.

In an interview three years ago, a friend of Miss Hall said that if she did marry again she would 'probably have to forfeit her magnificent home in Richmond, South-West London', which the couple shared after buying it in the early Nineties.

'Above all, Jerry craves security,' another friend said. 'She likes to feel that she is going to be taken care of by a man — which perhaps comes from being raised dirtpoor in Texas.'

While her relationship to Mr Murdoch may seem unlikely to some, their appearance at the Golden Globes would have been no surprise to those who know him best.

Mr Murdoch attended the ceremony with ex-wife Ms Deng on a number of occasions, where they joined scores of stars on the red carpet.

Mr Murdoch was first married to Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant from Melbourne.
They had a daughter, Prudence, together but split in 1966 after 11 years of marriage.

A year after the divorce, he married Glasgow-born journalist Anna Torv, who he met when she was working with a newspaper in Sydney and had the chance to interview him.
The couple had three children together and were married for more than 30 years before ending their relationship in 1999. Details are sparse but it is reported that the divorce could have cost him $1.2billion.

Pop culture icons: Jerry Hall with frontman Mick Jagger in 1984, nearly a decade into their relationship

Just weeks after the divorce, Murdoch married Wendi Deng, a businesswoman from China, who he met while she was an intern at a TV station owned by News Corp.
She was 38 years his junior and had previously been married to a man 30 years older than her.

Murdoch and Deng split in 2013 and he remained single until news of his relationship to former model Jerry Hall – 25 years his junior - was announced last year.

Miss Hall is known for her relationship with Mick Jagger, who she was with for more than 20 years. However, she had a star-studded relationship history long before meeting him.

She moved to Paris as a model in the 70s and was reportedly the girlfriend of Brian Ferry, appearing on the cover of his band Roxy Music's first album Sirens.

They split five months later, but she also appeared in a 1976 video for his solo hit Let's Stick Together.

By then she was one of the world's most famous models and met Mick Jagger in 1976.

They have four children together and had an unofficial marriage ceremony in Bali in 1990, but split in 1999, because of his infidelity, Hall claimed.

After that, she had a number of younger lovers, starting with film producer George Waud, then London banker Tim Attias, 49.

She then met scientist Armand Leroi, 51, but the two split last year, before her relationship to Murdoch was announced when they were pictured at the Rugby World Cup in October.
