Adele's Concert Tickets Sell for £5000($7500) EACH

Adele's 2016 Concerts Sell Online For a Massive £10,000-a-Pair
>(AND... They Might Not Get You In)

  • Hundreds of tickets for Hello singer's first tour in four years selling online
  • Despite having a face value of £95, some are on the market for £5,000 each
  • However, even after forking out for them potential buyers may not get in
  • Promoter plans to check IDs at venues to help give real fans an advantage
Daily Mail UK, 10 December 2015

Concert killing touts are flogging sold-out Adele tickets for as much as £10,000-a-pair.
The red hot briefs were snapped-up in minutes when they went on general sale earlier this month for £95 each.

But rip-off merchants are now punting them via ticket exchange websites for as much as £5,000 - more than 52 times their face value - to line their own pockets at the expense of the singer's most loyal fans.

And with security looking set to check the IDs of those attending in an attempt to stamp out such sales, it could mean the hundreds of unlucky punters who shell out top prices for the second-hand stubs may even still be knocked back at the door.

The Hello singer's fans in the likes of London, Birmingham, Belfast and Glasgow are all being asked to fork out eye-watering four-figure sums if they want to secure gold-dust seats for the Grammy award winner's 2016 tour.

Using sites like Stubhub, Viagogo, GetMeIn! and Seatwave, the tickets are being dangled before desperate potential buyers for hugely inflated costs.
In the capital - where Adele will perform eight gigs at the 20,000-capacity O2 arena in March and April next year - they are being resold on Viagogo for £4,014.12 each.

That would mean a family of four would have to pay £16,056.48 for seats together.
Even then the tickets are based in the venue's lower tier, still dozens of rows from the front of the stage.

In Birmingham, those intent on seeing the singer's first tour in four years will have to dig even deeper into their savings. The priciest stubs for her shows at the Genting Arena are on the resale market for £4,999.99 each.

However, the costs involved may just prove to be the first hurdle for those anxious to get in.
In an attempt to deter touts, Adele's team are asking fans to bring photo ID to her concerts.
Venue security will be instructed to ensure the name and address registered at the time of purchase tallies with the person trying to attend the gig.

Speaking earlier this month, the singer's manager Jonathan Dickins insisted this and other steps were being taken to try and clamp down on touts looking to cash-in on Adele's huge popularity.
He said:

'This is a show for fans who’ve waited years for Adele to perform.
'Everyone working on it just wants the best outcome for those fans.'

A spokesperson for Viagogo - who currently have hundreds of tickets for the singer's tour selling through their website - told MailOnline:

'Sellers set the prices on viagogo and for popular events such as Adele's 2016 tour, prices can be higher because there is huge demand and limited supply.
'However, while a seller can list a ticket at any price he likes, it doesn't mean the ticket will actually sell at that price.
'Tickets for Adele's UK dates currently start at £95 on our site.'

Hey I totally agree with you. It's absolutely nonsense that anyone would spend that much to see anyone sing and also sinful. As you said this money could be much better served feeding the poor and needy.
For my part I think going to any of these ball games is crazy for what it cost to get in and even crazier for what these players get paid. The priorities of this world has just gotten so twisted.
