Mick Jagger 'to Undergo Heart Surgery This Week' After Cancelling Tour

The 75-year-old Rolling Stones rocker is reportedly set to undergo surgery in New York city this week

The 75-year-old will apparently have an operation to replace a heart valve in New York in the coming days, the Drudge Report claims.


He is expected to made a full recovery and return to stage by summer.

Mirror Online has contacted his publicist for comment.

It comes after the star announced the postponement of the band's upcoming gigs in the US and Canada on Saturday, telling fans he needed medical attention for an undisclosed illness.

And a source told The Sun that something 'untoward' had been discovered during pre-tour medical screening.

"As happens ahead of every tour, Mick had a routine screening where something untoward was found.

"It's a setback, but Mick trains like an athlete and looks after himself. He'll get better quickly."

The tour dates will be rescheduled once Mick is fighting fit, with the band confirming,

"Unfortunately today the Rolling Stones have had to announce the postponement of their upcoming US/Canda tour dates - we apologise for any inconvenience this causes those who have tickets to shows but wish to reassure fans to hold onto these existing tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced shortly."
