With Mother's Day just around the corner, these adorable snaps show a whole host of patient mothers bonding with their boisterous babies.

And whether you're furry or scaly and have two legs or four, the cute snaps prove that mother knows best.


The touching pictures, taken by various photographers from across the globe, feature everything from a Borneo orangutan giving her little one a piggyback ride to a polar bear playing with her cubs in a snowy Canada.
A Lowland gorilla is also pictured cradling her baby in Cameroon while a Northern Sea Otter carries her cub through rough waters in Alaska.
And with animals from penguins to pandas showing love for their offspring, it won't just be humans getting spoiled this Sunday.
