Live Stream: Felix Baumgartner Freefall Skydive from Space
Guardian UK, 14 October 2012 The daredevil skydiver Felix Baumgartner is to try again to jump from the edge of space after his earlier attempts were halted by bad weather. He plans to jump from 36,576 metres (120,000ft) above the Earth, breaking a record set more than 50 years ago. He hopes to be the first person to break the speed of sound – about 690mph (1,110km/h) – in freefall Felix is a helicopter pilot, and is testing a special spacesuit in preparation for the future "Space Flights for Tourists" that the US hope to offer in the near future. They hope that these spacesuits will be good protection for "Future Space Travellers" What a brave guy Felix is, I do hope all goes well. |

Now that is what you call `sky diving from the top of the sky`. That had to be a great view that he saw.

The whole thing was outstanding and when Felix landed safely, it brought tears to my eyes, as Im sure it did many others. I felt incredibly proud to have witnessed such an incredible historical event Thanks to NASA for supplying all the equipment and backup to help Felix achieve his goal. What a day eh? |
