Darn companies/tradesmen

The following is being sent to all in my address book, if you wish to post this on any other board/forum/facebook etc and make people aware of what some companies can and will do to their clients, please do not add nor detract from its contents, leave all facts intact. I would also be wary of the companies mentioned with exception to Kohler themselves who have honoured their commitment to their clients.
When posting to other sites etc, your personal comments must not be placed within these details.
Photos supplied (attached).

This began 6 months ago when a Englefield Valencia Angle 1 metre shower unit was discovered to have cracks in the corners of the centre extrusion of the acrylic mould insert, where the soap, shampoo and washer are stored. Installation was approx 6 months prior to noticing the cracks.
Contact with the Kohler manufacturer initially proved to be uneventful, as blame was placed on me the Installer. Citing the following being used: Wrong adhesive to secure to the wall; Harsh cleaning chemicals; Incorrect Installation, and more. I have totally built my own home and renovated countless others, and one would think there is some knowledge involved.
Finally, after many emails pleading my case and refuting all of the above excuses, Kohler although not accepting a manufacturing fault, did generously offer to replace the said Acrylic mould insert as a gesture of goodwill.
Unknown to us at the time, it was to be only the beginning of the problems.

Steps as they happened and are still happening...
1. Kohler's offer of a goodwill gesture.
2. Passed to C.D.L. to send acrylic insert. (Crane Distribution Limited aka Crane aka Tradelink)
3. Three months later approx, no sign of the mould insert or any contact so we made contact. C.D.L. stated they had called and left a message on the answering machine, this is doubtful as the answering machine hasn't worked in quite some time. Believe they simply forgot to contact at all and there was no follow up as to why I did not respond to their supposed phone call. This is not good P.R.
4. Finally after contact with Adrian Stone at C.D.L. an installer was to arrive and replace the shower mould insert.
5. One month later approx, a Plumber (the installer) arrives with the mould insert for installation.
a) The Plumber had no idea how to dismantle the shower screen and was pulling at the glass and its frame, had to tell him how to dismantle it before it was destroyed.
b) Attempted to use an adjustable spanner (shifter) on the tap's hot and cold buttons, whereby he was told to use the right tool, and I supplied the nylon spanner that comes with the tap kit. Plumber was not at all pleased.
c) No due care and attention was given when dismantling the mould insert from the wall, it was literally torn to shreds instead of using a sharp instrument or a similar tool to assist in separating the adhesive from between the wall and mould insert.
d) Used a screwdriver to cut away the sealant at the base of the shower screen and damaged the shower base with a deep groove.
e) Cut all the tubes nozzles ready for adhesion and sealing. (We can now assume these will be hard as its been 3 weeks since the Plumber opened them).
f) Measured in an haphazard way for the tap and shower rose holes and did not re-check his measurements.
g) Cut holes and discovered the tap holes were 10mm out of alignment and the shower rose was 100mm out. Shower mould now rendered totally useless.
h) Plumber (Gavin) then left in a hurry to locate another mould. That's was almost 5 weeks ago and have not heard nor seen from him since. Last seen Feb 24th 2012.
6.Three weeks ago, contact was made with Adrian Stone at C.D.L. and he was informed of the Plumber's careless attitude and the fact he did not know what he was doing in the disassembly and of his mistake in cutting the mould. This Tradesman lacked only one item, a black and white striped apron, he was not a Tradesman but a butcher. Adrian Stone offered to personally contact the Plumber to have the mould insert to us ASAP, and was prompted to ask where we stood in regards to guarantee if we were to install it ourselves as this Plumber would no longer be acceptable. He would not be sufficiently qualified to connect a garden hose, so would he have the Plumber to simply leave it here instead. He agreed that this was acceptable. This mould insert never arrived. This was the 3rd mould insert we were about to own, the original which we purchased, the replacement to which the plumber rendered useless, and the 3rd which the Plumber was to locate to reinstall.
7. Two weeks ago, as there was still no mould insert forthcoming from the Plumber who was supposed to deliver it. Another phone call to Adrian Stone of C.D.L. and was told he was going to send it direct from them to us and should arrive by Friday Feb 10th and when it arrived check if intact, then contact him to state its arrival and condition. This is now the 4th mould insert heading in our direction.
8. It has now been 2 weeks since the phone call to Adrian Stone at C.D.L. and nothing arrived on Friday the 10th. Feb 13th another phone call to Adrian Stone and was told by the Secretary that Adrian would contact us as soon as he returned from Sydney. It is now the 16th Feb and still no contact.

There has been a lack of P.R. and taking 7 months for a resolution is ridiculous to say the least.
The outcome with responses or rather the lack of them via phone calls or emails has only succeeded in giving Kohler a bad name as they deal with C.D.L. (Trade Link) and seem to have no concerns in resolving this issue quickly.
It is almost 5 weeks since there has been an operational shower in the home, but one gets the impression that C.D.L. (Tradelink) and the absent Tradesman seemed unconcerned with others inconvenience.
In the past, ordered products from as far as Melbourne which is half way across Australia, have arrived within 72-84 hours awaiting collection at the depot if the product is large, or at the doorstep for signature if small, so I'm at a loss to understand why the extreme long delay.

Without Prejudice

Kind Regards
Mr R.B.

Ring the trades commission people( forget there title) your local MP would know.

Sounds like they have bigger and better things to make money on than you, so untill you take action, legal aid is a good place to ask about it.

Thanks pop, good stand by if all else fails.
Got nasty and went to the top, straight to Kohler to complain about Englefield who joined Kohler Company and about Tradelink who don't seem to give a rats ass.
Have a letter back from Kohler and its being given to the complaint section to attend to it.
When I hear from them, are they are in for a shock, sending ALL the emails of the past 7 months that have been flowing back and forth and photos of the gigantic stuff up.
If they got any clout at all, then they can deal with Englefield and Tradelink, but they have been warned in the email, it is going viral over the Net, and by the time I'm finished (and my mates), their name will be smeared.
