Footballer Reportedly Finds Dead Body in Septic Tank During Match in Mexico

A football match in Mexico was reportedly halted after a player found the body of a woman in a septic tank.
According to Alex Terrell of the Sun, one of the outfield players came across the dead body while retrieving the ball, prompting the game to end prematurely. Firefighters were called to recover the body.
Police have now opened a murder investigation following the discovery of the 22-year-old woman, who is being named "Leticia," per Terrell.

The woman was allegedly "killed and discarded" in the tank after going out dancing the previous night in San Pedro de la Hortaliza, just short of 60 miles west of Mexico City, per Terrell.
Leticia's father, Evaristo, reportedly lives "just yards" from the crime scene and identified the body as his daughter's.
She is the fifth woman to be murdered in 2016 in the El Ocote area, which has seen 40 violent incidents reported this year.
