Homes in a rural town are being overtaken by truckloads of tumbleweeds dubbed the 'hairy panic.'
Residents are overwhelmed and mentally drained as they spend hours trying to remove the weed from their homes in Wangaratta, Victoria's north-east, only having to repeat it all again the next day.
The weed fills up front yards and back yards, covering outdoor furniture, plants and entries to their homes

Residents in Wangaratta, Victoria's north-east are frustrated and mentally drained from the mountains of tumbleweeds surrounding their homes
Although the tumbleweeds is not new to the locals, the dry weather conditions has contributed significantly.
'It is frustrating. You know that you've got a good couple of hours work ahead of you and that's always sort of displeasing,' said resident Jason Perna.
Cheryl Lengrand hours clearing her yard from the tumbleweeds only to see them return the next day.
'I spent eight hours yesterday cleaning up the tumbleweeds and this is what I've got today,' said Ms Lengrand as she pointed at another mountain of weed.
Residents believe the tumbleweeds is also the result of an unkempt paddock nearby.
However the local council is unable to help as the weed is not considered a fire hazard.
