Boxing Wilder Targets Tyson Fury/UK Champion & Winner of Klitschko Rematch

Deontay Wilder Again Targets Tyson Fury in Heavyweight Unification Bout and Taunts British Champion:
> 'He's Just a Tall Guy, He Don't Have No Power'

  • WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is willing to fight in London
  • He wants to fight winner of Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko rematch
  • Fury beat Klitschko on points in Germany back in November
  • Wilder defends WBC title against Artur Szpilka next Saturday
Daily Mail UK, 9 January 2016

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has again set his sights firmly on the winner of the upcoming rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko and reiterated he is more than willing to come to London and face the British fighter.

Fury stunned the boxing world back in November when he dethroned Klitschko in Germany, ending the Ukrainian's nine year undefeated reign, to claim the WBA, WBO, IBO, IBF and The Ring heavyweight titles. He has subsequently been stripped of the IBF belt.

Undefeated Wilder believes a bout against Fury is more likely to take place as he feels Klitschko is unwilling to fight him.

Fury will make his first title defence in a mandatory rematch against Klitschko later this year

'I think Tyson (is more likely to fight me), even though he talks a lot I think he'll fight. I'll go to London for that. I'll go to his territory for that one. It's not going to go to the judges,' he said in an interview.

'He's just a tall guy, he don't have no power. He likes to act a fool in the ring, which I like to as well, Wilder said about Fury.

'He likes to have fun. I like to have fun in the ring, but I knock them out. I can be a tennis player, a golf player and even a soccer player.

'When it comes down to getting into that ring on the night of that fight, all that goes out of the window on what kind of player I am.'

Wilder (right) has already called out Fury but thinks the Manchester-born fighter is not ready

Wilder (35-0) has established a fearsome reputation after winning all but one of his 35 fights to date by stoppage. He will make the third defence of his belt against Poland's Artur Szpilka (20-1) at the Barclays Center in New York next Saturday.

The 30-year-old, who stands 6ft 7in, immediately called out the self proclaimed 'Gypsy King' in the aftermath of his victory. But Fury has since opted for a mandatory rematch against Klitschko and the Bronze Bomber feels Fury wasn't ready for the challenge.

'I'm the heavyweight champion of the world,' he said. 'I offered him to fight me. I offered him to be the first guy that I defended my title against. Maybe they forget about that. They wasn't ready. They didn't want that fight. They wanted Klitschko.'
