UFC VIDEO-Champion Arrested AGAIN-This Time>Hit & Run

Jon Jones Charged with Felony: Latest Details

Bleachers, 28 Apr 2015

UFC light heavyweight champion Jones was taken into police custody on Monday after allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run.

The Albuquerque, New Mexico, Police confirmed the news

The complete document listing his booking information can be

found here.

MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi provided Jones' mugshot:

He was arrested on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving death or personal injuries. After being in custody for three hours, he was released after posting $2,500 bail, according to Raimondi.

Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com reported that UFC is aware of the news, but did not plan on releasing a statement Monday evening.

ESPN's Brett Okamoto reported that the alleged incident occurred on Sunday morning. The report also contained a statement from Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Simon Drobik.

"The case has progressed and he is now our suspect in the the hit and run that happened earlier this morning involving a pregnant female," said Drobik. "We are now definitely looking at him as a suspect."

Raimondi added further information after speaking with Drobik:

A woman's car was struck Sunday morning in Albuquerque, N.M., and the offender in the other vehicle fled the scene, per Albuquerque PD spokesman Simon Drobik. The case is currently under investigation and Albuquerque PD would like to speak with Jones regarding the matter. Drobik could not confirm if Jones was a suspect in the incident.
This isn't the first time Jones has encountered trouble away from the Octagon. In May 2012, he crashed his car into a telephone pole; he later pleaded guilty to a DWI charge and was sentenced in July 2012.

Before defeating Daniel Cormier in his previous fight at UFC 182 in January, Jones was fined $50,000 for partaking in a brawl with Cormier at a UFC press conference last August. Jones then tested positive for cocaine prior to the bout, which was in violation of the UFC athlete code of conduct.

Talented as Jones is as an MMA dynamo, he appears to be having issues away from his profession. Jones, 27, may be facing his biggest hurdle yet as it pertains to his future outlook with the UFC and his career overall.
