Top Gear: BBC Dismantled Set After Jeremy Clarkson Sacking Leaves Show's Future in Doubt

James May and Richard Hammond are Selling Their OWN Motorbikes as Their Future is Uncertain

Daily Mail, 28 April 2015, Australia

He was axed from Top Gear in March following his fracas with a producer over a steak dinner.
But despite the backlash the scandal created, actor and host of the Australian version of the show, Shane Jacobson, reached out to the shamed presenter via text message, to ask how he was coping.

Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Tuesday, Shane said: 'We have been in contact, mostly by text. But at one point I said, "How are you mate?" And he said, "Fine, I'm just jobless." '

Despite being given the boot, the 55-year-old broadcaster will travel Down Under with Richard Hammond and James May in July for their tour;

Clarkson, Hammond and May Live.

Speaking about their decision to go ahead with the gigs, Shane - who hosts the shows - said: 'You can't keep a good man down and you can't keep a bad man down either.'
He added: 'There's still an audience for them and the guys certainly haven't given up their love of the motor sport or entertaining, so they wanted to come to Australia.'

The tour was originally named Top Gear Live, but was re-branded following the end of their contracts with the BBC motoring show earlier this year.

The trio will play two indoor shows in Melbourne on July 18 and 19 before moving on to Sydney for their gigs on July 25 and 26.

And Shane has teased that despite the renamed tour, they still have a lot of exciting things lined up for their appearance in Australia.
He said: 'There will still be supercars, there will be all the stuff the guys love and that people expect, obviously. We've also got a thing that I can announce called the carashes, which is going to be a part of the show.

So it's Australia vs England ... think V8 cricket and we're gonna play car rugby.'

Busy busy! The tour will also see the trio travel to South Africa and Norway - where shows were cancelled while the BBC made their decision on Jeremy's future - and will come to a close at the O2 in London

Asked whether the set in Australia is Clarkson, Hammond and May's goodbye tour, Shane said, 'Truth is, I don't know,' but he went on to add that he hopes it's not the end for them.

Jeremy was given the boot from Top Gear after he punched producer Oisin Tymon, 36, during a row over being served cold meat instead of a steak at a hotel in North Yorkshire, England.
