Downton Abbey Is Renewed for Season 6
8 Dec, 2014
It looks like the Crawleys will be sticking around for at least one more year: Downton Abbey has been renewed for a sixth season, the U.K.'s ITV announced Thursday.
The drama's fifth season concluded in the
U.K. Sunday, November 9, and that Season5 will premiere in the
U.S. on Sunday, January 4 on PBS.
"We don't know yet what [creator Julian Fellowes] has planned, but we are looking forward to working with him, the fantastic cast, and Carnival [Films] again and have no doubt series six will be unmissable," ITV's Director of Drama Commissioning, Steve November, said in a statement.
There is, of course, no word yet on whether Season 6 will be the show's last, as has long been speculated.
