Default Re: Megaupload User Data Negotiations Go Bust

Faults in our justice system lead to this type of behavior. Again what is known as regulatory capture is in full swing to go with it. When a crime becomes public knowledge there is this huge pressure to produce a criminal to be convicted of the crime. Anyone will do rather than getting the right one. You also have DAs that are looking to make examples as a way to bring their names to attention in hopes of political office.

The regulatory capture involves corporations putting into offices not elected their own ex-employees. Take your pick on this as an example. Entertainment putting into office their people to see laws get made in their favor. Big banking and Wall Street types into the SEC in charge of hunting down white collar crime financial wise which is part of the reason that the SEC has not sent bankers to jail but rather levy small fines with the allowance that those corporations don't have to admit criminal wrongdoing in the process. Those are only two of a multitude of examples.

Plus you have private prisons being run by corporations for profit. Corrections Corporation of America was willing to make all states in the nation a deal. We'll house your prisoners if you'll guarantee a 95% capacity. Needless to say where that goes.
