As of today, BayW is back as a chat and information sharing site only and does not contain any file sharing information. However, I do see that there is still a request section which does contain filled requests with links...

In the last few years, we have had a spectacular time as a forum: we managed to keep our forum online, despite mounting pressures from the outside; we managed to keep the forum clean, despite the large number of auto-spammers; and in all of this we remained a strong community each time we overcame an obstacle.
Today, we face a new obstacle: opening the morning paper, we read of once great forums, blog communities, torrent sites, that have been raided, their files seized, and their users under scrutiny. We do not want any of it.
Effective as of this letter, we will no longer be a sharing forum. They may be able to use their tyrannical rules and regulations to stomp on us, but they will not end the flame, that is BayW. We will transition from a file-sharing forum into an information-sharing forum.
We will rebuild as a free forum, where conversations of all sorts take place, where freedom of discussion is paramount, and where the BayW community remains together.
If you are for keeping the community together, if you are for the transition, if you are for BayW, donate a few bucks to help with our server and transition costs. We know the times are hard, but remember every dollar counts, and your generosity will go far.
Do not let us become like one of those sites that were broken, and their communities dispersed elsewhere, homeless. It is with great hope, we say this: we will be back online 10th of September, 2012.
