Default Re: BayW.org CLOSED for Good

I suspect this will go on for a while but I also look for these seizures to end and I'll say why.

The big boys of entertainment, music, movies, broadcast, publications, etc. are all wanting file sharing to come to an end rather than address they way they do business to make it work. It seems it's a combination of too much effort unless you can tell them how to do it because they aren't trying to do so and the other part is, they'll have to sell what they offer cheaper. They don't want to do that for the reasons of corporate over head and the fact they want to pocket those savings rather than pass it on to the customer. So any laws that will help them out with not having to make changes are more than welcome.

That's the pushing force behind all of this. Especially when you consider that much of the underling heads of public offices, just out of sight of being mentioned in public news, are industry insiders. In that aspect, it's not just entertainment. All big business and megacorporations have salted the government offices with their people.

What will cause the draw back is that more and more I am reading of people around the world fed up with it. From the lowest citizen on up. All of this has been a push to protect the income streams. The way is it being done stinks to high heaven and if you read for any period of time the things tried, you realize rather quickly that these IP groups trying to hold the high road of moral right are anything but. Moral has no place in this as it is strickly business and making moral issues out of it hides the real problems they don't want to address.

This business of making trade treaties and laws aren't benefiting the signatories much; it's only benefiting the US mainly. So it's not in the best interests of the rest of the world. Add to this that US dominance over global markets is coming to an end. A few years ago before the major depression set in, the US controlled something like 68% of global demand for products. Since that time it has dropped to something like 40%. With the long term depression on the market from the economy it is not likely to change and get better any time soon. This means the one sole benefit of access to the market isn't worth what it was before. This is why so many countries from Canada to Mexico and many others are having second thoughts about agreeing to any more, following the popular uprising over ACTA.

World pressures will push back soon because they will be seeing it isn't in their best interests. With that comes less inclination to support the actions such as seizing domains and sites. All the US is accomplishing with this is picking the low hanging fruit. Already most people are looking for hosting sites outside the US and China will be just as happy to pick them up for internet business as they were Iran.
