I had read this earlier. Most sites that are concerned with security and wanna lock their sites down have one minor problem. That problem is that it is assumed that those already there, especially the staff, are trustworthy and beyond doubt. Herein, is the problem of limiting outsiders coming in.

The staff or member already there when new security tightening happens is believed to be safe. In that sense, that known member will always pass the security devices put in place. He belongs there. But what you can not do, is look on the other end to see if everything is still the same. When there is an issue with penetration, the legal forces, hunt a victim where they want to get info on. Once found, it is not hard to find something to pin on him. After that, convincing him it will all go away for him if he helps out the legal arm allows them what they seek.

Don't be surprised that a couple of his close-ins turned evidence. It always comes down to you or him, when looking for the way in. That's how it's played.

It is also a very standard answer when asked if the regular members will have grief over it to leave it hanging without an answer. The purpose is to make everyone feel guilty.
