Default Re: Some Cheap Russian Music Sites Have Pirate Suppliers

This will probably go the same route as AllofMP3.com.

AllofMP3.com always claimed it paid the royalties demanded by the Russian Copyright Office. When the RIAA got to raising cane about it, the Russian government refused to act, meaning that likely they did pay the royalties and by Russian law, the RIAA didn't have a leg to stand on.

I do know it was reported that the check for payment was cut and sent to the RIAA but it refused payment. Right after that it claimed it hadn't been paid. The reality was that the RIAA will not accept payment except from who they have licensed to do business with the public at arm and leg rates.

What got AllofMP3 shut down was a combo of the Russian Government wanting in the World Bank and the RIAA cutting off funding through credit card and paypal.

It is likely that this new site is running the same methods. It is also likely they will hit the same problems.

Unlike these sites, AllofMP3 sold music by whatever format you wanted it in at whatever bit rate you wanted by the megabyte.
