I would say it was just as likely that these porn studios wanted to cut some sort of deal or haul the search engine to court. It is unlikely at this point that the lawyers would have had anything that could actually stick and be enforceable as long as the search engine observed takedowns but the process of court is an expensive proposition and often cheaper to just cease the function.
Besides, after a while, you've seen it all. There aren't but so many positions, so many places to carry on sexual methods, and only so many body shapes, after which they all become pretty common.
