Default Re: Pirate Bay Enjoys 12 Million Traffic Boost

That didn't work for HADOPI after a year of being in effect. For those not familiar with it, HADOPI is the French version of three strikes. The idea is to remove file sharing from the internet. After all, if you listen to the copywrong enforcers, it's all about the pirates, causing sales to go down.

In reality, for all the puff pieces put out to try and say that HADOPI is working great, the truth of the matter is, if pirates are at fault for sales dropping then a year without file sharing should have pulled sales back up. Only it hasn't and it continues to drop in France, indicating the trumpeted version of what's wrong isn't really what is wrong.

This story is about the clueless that don't understand the inner workings of how the internet functions trying to rule over it. This has already been tried and enforced from the actions of Brein, the Dutch version of the RIAA. It simply isn't working there. Proxies and VPNs that hide ip and net traffic are doing really well though.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

*edit* I came upon something very interesting today. There is no record in the EU of there ever being a trial for the courts to order TPB blocked. This probably means that the way it was handled was that paperwork was turned in requesting this action. But nothing legal was ever done, as far as courts ordering this action. It's strictly political.

The reason why this is important is that not long ago here was posted an article about a rapper by the name of Dan Bull. Now Dan is not a signed artist. He doesn't have access to the radio play. He has created a viral campaign through TPB that resulted in his work being named in the top 10 artists works without being on the public airwaves. The only reason Dan had the success he had was because he didn't go through the standard contract that takes all his money and gives it to the major labels.

Yet TPB, Dan, nor any other public defense of public domain has occurred in this operation to block TPB. This is corruption at it's finest as nothing has been considered about public benefit from which copyright reasons are why copyright exists today.

What is wrong with this picture? *edit*
