Default Re: U.S.Labels Canada Piracy Haven/Threatens Spain on SOPA

The 301 report is a farce. There are no checks to see if what the copywrong groups claim is so. For several years now, Canada has been on the 301 list. This despite in many cases, Canada already has tougher laws than the US. Canada has an official policy stating that it does not accept the Special 301 process as legitimate.

Basically what happens is the copywrong industry jumps up with a claim of whoever hasn't knuckled under to it's demands. Israel's copyright enforcement is basically on par with the US yet it receives notice in the 301 report.

As an answer to the joke that 301 has become, The Consumers International group has put out a list in response based on how pro- or anti-consumer local IP laws are in the public's interest. You can find that report here.
