Default Re: What is ERD Commander ?

ERD (Emergency Recovery Disk) Commander? It is a mini XP operating system on a cd. It has aXP style desktop and tools to fix problems with a computer that will not start or you have locked your self out. It also has several tools and various versions for different OS's.

It's also let you boot and back up stuff from your hard disk.

No, it isn't good for cleaning crud.

Programs and Features (Add Remove Programs) works well for removing installs. (In control panel)

MSConfig from a DOS prompt to remove things from boot up. (Click Start, then Run, type CMD, press enter, type MSConfig, click Start Up Tab.

Spybot Search and Destroy to remove spyware and crap.

CCleaner to clean up left over temprary files and such.
