I am supplying extra info for assistance as to why XP has decided to hang on shutdown, leaving me with the only course of action and that is turn off at the wall. its a bit long winded bbut may be needed by those who can help.
Its been doing this for the last 2 months maximum, and as this is an area I am unsure of, any help would be appreciated.

There has been no new additions in hardware or software for the last 18 months - 2 years, with exception to FF addon "NoScript" installed only 2 days ago.
