Popcorn Re: How to Display Your Post << Read before Posting

The (Advanced)Message Window's Menu Explained
.

As you can see there is a collection of icons that have Universal meaning, plus there are some that are not that well known. Regardless of this fact I will explain each of the Icons.

Remove Text Formatting Options of a High-Lighted word. Example >High-Light the word & press the icon> Example .
Chose the Display Type of Font you want to use.
Chose the Display Size of the Font that is in use.
Chose the Display Colour of the Font that is in use. This Icon has 2 functions 1) Press on the Icons "A" and what ever Colour that is shown in the Colour Bar under the "A" will be applied to any High-Lighted text 2) Press on the tiny down arrow to the side of the "A" and a Colour Palette will open up, where you will then be able to Select a New Colour, when this happens the Colour Bar will change colour to show the New Select colour.
Drop down menu that will show you a collection of "Smiles". These Smiles are normally shown to the side of the Message Window.
Add an Attachment to you post, like a Picture that is stored on your computer or a text file, etc.
The Undo - Redo Icons. The Arrow pointing to your left is "Undo" so if you make a mistake, like delete your whole post instead of just a word, using this Icon will Restore what was just deleted. The "Redo" Icon will just in effect undo the "undo" icon, so the deleted text will be re-deleted again.
The "Bold" icon will make any high-lighted text Bold
The "Italic" icon will make any high-lighted text Italic
The "Underline" icon will Underline any high-lighted text
Paragraph Alignment to the Left any text or object that the cursor is placed on
Paragraph Alignment to the Middle any text or object that the cursor is placed on
Paragraph Alignment to the Right any text or object that the cursor is placed on
  1. Number Ordered List Icon will Start a Numbered Listing if no text is high-lighted, if there is text high-lighted then a Number Ordered List will be applied to the High-lighted text.
  • Unordered List works the same as the Number Ordered List but will place down "Point Dots" instead of Numbers.
Decrease Indent Icon will decrease the amount of indentation that is within a paragraph of text.
Increase Indent Icon will Increase the amount of indentation that is within a paragraph of text.
Insert Link Icon will attach a Web Address Link to a Picture of High-lighted Text.
Remove Link Icon will remove the attached Web Address Link that had been applied to a Picture or High-lighted Text.
Insert Email Link will do just that, it will ask you for the Email Address that you want to place in your post.
Insert Picture, will ask you for a Web Address of the Picture that you want to post.
Wrap High-lighted text/links/pictures inside of a Quote Box.
Wrap High-lighted File Links inside of a Code Box.
Wrap PHP tags around High-lighted Text. I don't use this function at all.
Wrap High-Lighted YouTube File link with the YouTube Tags.
.
Now that is out of the way we can look at the Icons that we would actually use.
We would use this is Change the Size of the Title Text inside of you Post. I always make the Head Title Text a Size 4. The rest of any Title Text would be a Size 3 and the Normal Information Text a Size 2.
I always like to use 2 colours in a post. Black is the standard text and any Title Text I like to use Purple. When you pick a colour I would recommend a Deep / Dark colour. Yellow or Pink is a bit hard to look at and even see some times.
I always Bold all of the Title Text and always leave the other Information Text as normal (un-bolded).
When you want to place a collection of Images on your post you do not want to actually post the Full Sized Images, you would normally post a ThumbNail of the Image and then with the required Thumbnail Selected use this Icon to attach the Web Address of the Full Image. I have done that to this Icon so Click on it and another Image will open up on a new page (normally).
This is a very important Icon as it allows you to post Images / Pictures. I used this Icon to post all of the Images that you can see in this posting. This Icon requires that you have a Web Address for the required Image / Picture. (If the image is on your own computer then use the Add Attachment (paperclip) Icon.
When you are posting a lot of Information then it may be wise to place the Information inside of a Quote Box and to do that you would High-light select all of the Information text that you want to be inside of the Quote Box and then select this Icon.
This is an important Icon as you would use it to place your DownLoad Files Web Address inside of a Code Box. I normally Select this Icon first and then place my mouse pointer in-between the 2 sets of square brackets and then insert / paste in my DownLoad Files Web Address.
Normally you would not use this in a Wallpaper Post but you could use it in a Graphic Tutorial posting. So you might have a U-Tube of "How To Do Some Thing" in PhotoShop and you want to share it with other members. You have the Web Address of the U-Tube (http //youtube/_OBlgSz8sSM) Charlie Bite My finger - again)) and now you need to select the only the last bit of the Web Address, I have made it Bold for you to see, you then place that bit of the Web Address on your post (_OBlgSz8sSM)and High-light it, then select this Icon. You now should have an embedded U-Tube file on your post.
.
In the Next Reply Section I will show you How These All Fix Together.
