Heather Locklear Ordered to Mental Health Facility After Admitting Assault

The Melrose Place star has pleaded no contest to eight charges, including six involving assault on a police officer or paramedic

Actress Heather Locklear has been ordered to a mental health facility after pleading no contest to a series of assault charges.

The 57-year-old, best known for her role in Melrose Place for which she received four consecutive Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress, was facing eight charges, including six involving common assault.

Locklear was arrested in June, 2018 and she was sentenced to 30 days in a residential mental health facility.

She has to enroll in the facility before September 6.

Locklear will face a 120-day jail sentence if she does not complete the 30-day stint in the facility.

Once she has completed that month, Locklear with then be on informal or unsupervised probation for the following three years.

She has been ordered to not possess weapons, non-prescribed medications or alcohol in that time.
