Alesha MacPhail's Gran Says Naming Her Teen Killer was The 'Last Thing She Wanted'

The grieving grandmother of Alesha MacPhail has said naming the six-year-old's murderer was the 'last thing she wanted'.
Alesha's grandmother Angela King hit out saying the teenage killer 'doesn't deserve notoriety or recognition for what he's done'.
The 16-year-old boy who abducted, raped and murdered schoolgirl Alesha in a "bestial" attack was finally unmasked today as Aaron Campbell.
Campbell snatched Alesha from her bed as she visited her dad and grandparents on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, last July.
He brutally attacked her, causing "catastrophic" injuries, before dumping her body in woodland on the island.
During his nine-day trial for Alesha's murder, the teenager could not be identified for legal reasons because he is aged under 18.
But today, he can be identified for the first time after the judge lifted the court order following an application from the media, including Reach Plc.
But Alesha's gran said naming him was the 'last thing she wanted,' adding "that's what he wants".

Ms King, speaking of Campbell, said "let him rot".
Ms King wrote: "I thought I might sleep just a little easier tonight but no...I don't want to speak of him the only person who matters was Alesha...he is never going to be released, he enjoyed his time in court, took pleasure from it, to me his name being revealed is the last thing I want.
"Why? Because he doesn't deserve notoriety recognition for what he's done. That's what he wants.
"Let him rot and ill see him in hell I don't doubt he'll be there sooner rather than later."

Alesha, a "smiley" little girl who was adored by her family, was discovered face down and naked at the woodland site by a member of the public.
A court heard she had 117 separate injuries.
Campbell, who lived on the scenic and sparsely populated island, was yesterday found guilty of her abduction, rape and murder by jurors.

Judge Lord Matthews told the teenager he had committed some of the "wickedest, most evil crimes" Glasgow's High Court had ever heard.
Today, the judge said: "I can't think of a case in recent times that has attracted such revulsion.
"I intend to grant the application. The press may name the accused and publish images of him."
A post-mortem examination found Alesha, whose body was found in woods on the Isle of Bute on 2 July last year, died from "pressure to neck and face".
Campbell, who now faces a life term, will be sentenced next month.
