Default re: Power of Prayer >No Matter Which Faith YouFollow=GOD is With You

God's Calling
It’s not IF God calls us. That’s a given. He calls
each of His children. It’s how we answer that call.
Will we accept the call from God on our life?

I heard the statement printed above on the radio as I traveled down the
road. I got to my destination before I ever heard who it was that said it,
but man, what a statement!
“It’s not IF we are called by God. That’s a given.”
That tells me that the debate is settled. There is no
more need for more discussion. God has called -and IS calling -each one of His children. Some examples of the kind of calls He extends to us include:

-He has called us to be a member of His Kingdom
-He has called us to be forgiving to one another
-He has called us to be joyful followers of His
-He’s called us to use what He has given us (what He has blessed us with) to serve Him
(And I’m sure you can come up with many more examples of His call on our lives)
That God calls us is a non-debatable fact.

But what is debatable is our response to His call on our lives: It’s debatable whether or not we will choose
to be part of His Kingdom; It’s debatable whether or not we will be forgiving to others; it’s debatable whether
or not we will live lives filled with joy; it’s debatable whether or not we will serve Him with courage and passion
all of our lives. All of those things are a matter of choice -our choice. A choice that God would like to see us accept and fulfill.

How have you answered God’s calls on your life?
It’s like we have a direct telephone line to God and our
line is ringing. We have “caller ID” and see that it’s God calling and we have a pretty good idea of what He
wants. Will you answer that call? Have you answered that call? Or will you let God’s phone call keep on
ringing?

Like the telephone calls we receive, God’s call won’t keep ringing incessantly. Eventually, just like our
telephone calls, the ringing of God’s call will eventually stop, the opportunity will pass and God will fulfill that
call by extending it to someone else in order to fulfill His task. The unfortunate thing is that when we don’t
answer God’s call we miss out on the opportunities to serve God, to deepen our faith and to have the
satisfaction of being part of God’s plan.

God is asking us to settle the issue with Him beforehand -BEFORE the call is extended our “yes” to Him
must already be settled in our mind. Then when His “call,” His “opportunity,” His “divine moment” is extended
to us, there will be no hesitation, only a heartfelt positive response to the call, whatever it may be.

May God bless us all with the faith to see, the courage to accept, and the trust to persevere in all the
“calls” that God blesses us with.
